Roof Rack Recommendation for 2020 Hyundai Palisade With No Rails or Crossbars

Question:

Vehicle: 2020 Hyundai Palisade base model no rails and no cross bars I am looking to buy a roof rack for my 2020 Palisade that does NOT have any existing rails or crossbars. During my search, I have seen products advertised as Rail systems that you physically screw/connect into the roof of the vehicle, then you can buy a roof rack system that is designed for a pre-existing rail. I have also seem the roof rack systems designed for roofs with no rails. Does E Trailer sell these rail systems that you connect directly to the roof? I believe I have seen this on the dealers website, and if you do, are they easy to connect without causing damage? Or are the roof rack systems that do not require the railings just as effective? I just want to know what the options are before spending the money. Thanks!

Although we don't offer a roof rack option that would provide the side rails, we do offer roof rack options that would work for your 2020 Hyundai Palisade.

For a Yakima round bar roof rack, you'd need the following parts:

• Yakima 58 inch round crossbars, part # Y00409
• Yakima BaseLine Towers, part # Y28TR
• Yakima SL Adapters, part # Y03536
• Yakima Base Clips # Y06145
• Yakima Base Clips # Y06138

You might want to consider going with an aero-style crossbar, however. The round bars can cause some wind noise, which some folks find annoying. If you'd care to go that route, you'd use the same # Y00146 BaseLine towers mentioned above, and the same base clips. Instead of the round bars, you'd go with the
# Y00422 60 inch CoreBars which would be quite a bit more quiet.

This roof rack attaches to the vehicle roof via the base clips which attach to the upper door jambs. This is a system that's been used for years, it's very reliable and the clips have a coating on them that will prevent
them from scratching the vehicle, so you needn't be concerned about that.
