These Kwikee 34 Series electric steps extend automatically when the door opens and retract when it closes. The motor and control unit work together for smooth operation, and a switch kit lets you override the retraction to keep the steps out while parked. Designed as a complete assembly, the setup includes the motor, control, switch, and an amber light so you can see the steps clearly at night.
Made from sturdy, powder coated steel with solid drive rods and stainless steel bushings, these steps are built to handle frequent entry and exit without bending or flexing. The air-pressed rivets at the pivot points add lasting strength. With a 300 lb weight capacity, they feel solid underfoot whether you’re carrying groceries or helping pets climb in.
The 30" wide, 10-1/4" deep treads include a non-slip surface and reflective strips to make every step more visible. The built-in amber incandescent light (C193 bulb) brightens your footing after dark so you can step with confidence at any time.
Integrated safety features help protect both you and your steps. If the steps hit an obstacle while extending, the motor retracts them automatically. The ignition override pulls the steps in when the vehicle starts, even if the override switch is on, so you never drive off with them out.
With an overall width of 32-3/8" and mounting plate dimensions of 29-7/8" wide x 11-3/8" deep, this two-step assembly fits tightly against the frame for a clean install. Each step has an 8" drop/rise and folds to a compact 7-3/4" height when stowed. Powered by a 12V motor and 10A control unit, it’s a dependable upgrade for stable, powered entry every time.

etrailer had the model I needed. I tried one other company and they sent me the wrong model. Shipments are always quick with etrailer.

A year later - we're still very happy with our replacement Kwikee step. The price was right, fast shipping, and everything works as it should. If you're debating fixing or replacing your worn-out step - replace it!
I installed the new kwikee series 34 steps on a 2009 Tiffin Phaeton 36 QSH. They bolted up on the support frames with out drilling any new holes. The kwikee installation manual was a life saver. I went through all the step testing and chassis wiring test. I had a problem with the door magnetic switch which I found during the test procedures. I am well satisfied with the new steps.
Overall excellent. The footprint of the mounting holes did not match the previous Kwikee steps I had; so I had to drill through the baseplate. Also the magnet operation to open/close was reverse of the older model; so I had to install new magnets (supplied with product). Other than that, steps are solid and operating fine.
etrailer is quick and much less cost than suggested retail from the mfgr.
The new stairs are excellent as well as Etrailer’s customers service. The shipping was fast and free. I only had one issue with the installation. The magnetic door switch is not compatible with my Phaeton. There really isn’t a good spot on my rig to mount that type of switch. I realized that my existing door switch on my rig was a normally closed switch. The new stairs need a normally open door switch. I purchased a new n/o door switch for $20.00 and installed it right where my old switch was located.

Fit perfectly worked as expected great customer service
Everything went great! I purchased an electric step for my 2016 Tiffin Open Road. Tiffin wanted $1250 plus shipping (about $200) plus tax. ETraler wanted $969. (Free shipping) plus tax. I also checked RV Giant and RV Country and they were higher than Tiffin. Thank you Ashley at etrailer.
