You picked out a beautiful campsite for the weekend, a nice place to pause and relax. But before you can enjoy it, you have a whole checklist for getting your RV set up at your campsite. Getting your manual retractable awning extended is one of those tedious chores. Wrestling with your heavy canopy as you crank it all the way out, turn by turn, is exhausting and takes forever. It's time to find a better way to do this.
With a power awning, there's no bother and there's no effort: push a button and your awning rolls in and out, just like that. It wires right into your RV's power so it's always ready to go. If you ever find yourself without power, there's a manual override built into the drive head that you can use to retract or extend your awning with a power drill (not included).
Note: The manual override function is not available on 2017 Forest River Cherokee campers.
Best of all, this conversion kit is a great economical option. You don't need to buy new fabric or a new roller to upgrade to a power awning. You just need these new awning arms and endcaps, and you're good to go.
One thing that can quickly ruin your camping trip is a broken awning. It's not easy or cheap to replace, and you can't really enjoy your patio without one. A big hazard to a healthy awning is rain: water pools in the fabric, stretching it out and putting strain on the arms with extra weight it wasn't designed to hold. Next thing you know, the fabric rips - the arms snap - the whole awning comes crashing down, slamming against your RV and leaving you with a big and costly problem.
For traditional awnings, it's up to you to run out in the rain and lower one of the arms yourself. If you're away from your RV when it starts to rain, you can only hope your awning isn't damaged when you get back. Solera awning arms are smarter than that. This conversion kit comes equipped with an automatic rain dump function. As soon as rainwater starts to pool in the fabric, one of the arms will automatically drop, giving your awning a pitched angle. The rainwater will then run off to one side, taking the pressure off your awning and your mind.
It's hard to get your awning in just the right place to keep you in the shade all day, especially with those awnings that are pretty high off the ground. Sometimes you need just a little slant to your awning to keep the sun out of your eyes. The manual pitch adjustment built into these arms gives you that option. Simply pull on one of the arms at the friction joint to drop that corner. It comes down easily and holds itself there for as long as you need it. When it's time to retract your awning, there's no need to readjust it; the awning will slide back into place.

Worried at first because the directions state the arms are to convert other brands but it fits my Solera brand awning perfectly.

Found that the end caps for awning roller will not fit carefree longitude style roller, was able to adapt caps using 3 inch schedule 40 PVC pipe. Cut to 1 inch length then notched to fit inside of cap, attached with self drilling self taping screws, picture of modifications shown. Awning now has excellent arms with all the adjustments I could ask for

This was a great option for replacement after my awning lost a battle to a wind gust. The install went about as smooth as a universal fit could go. I did have to compensate for the head shafts being about an inch longer from center than original, and I had to drill a 1.5" hole in the back to fit my feed wires through, but mounting was a breeze. I suggest having caulk handy for every screw hole you can reuse, and every new screw you drive through the siding. As for shipping, With the way electronics leads are right now, shipping was the best it could be for an out of stock product. Etrailer stayed with me giving updates through out the whole process, even giving me replacement options I could have taken. All in all this was a great product with an easy 2 person installation. Etrailers customer support is top tier!
After one of my employees backed into a customer's 20 day old travel trailer and destroyed the awning emailed came to my rescue. Exact replacement for my Transcend!
A windstorm bent every one of hte arm pieces from our awning and we needed a replacement fast. We ordered these replacement arms, wired them up and had a working awning in a few hours. They're done great for us!

I would have given 5 stars but the package the item came in was a torn and a cut up box that someone put together thinking they were putting Frankenstein together. After close inspection of the product I found no discrepancies. This was not my first order and will use you again. Just hope the packaging department will be more responsible.
After damaging the awning of my RV, I ordered these as a replacement. And had them installed at local RV masters store.
The awning has worked great since then. And the cost was not bad.
I had a great experience with ordering my awning arms. They arrived when promised. I am still waiting on my awning fabric to arrive, which I was told it would be a week and a half later. so far so good.
Thankfully the item was good but the packaging was almost totally demolished! Very poor weight of cardboard used!

Product received Motor head plastic cover damaged. The rest of the product was received with no damage. Excellent service from support and getting a new head cover ordered.
