  Thank you for the purchase! Since your steps are operating backwards, the issue is likely the reverse polarity of the motor. What you should do is try reversing the red and yellow wires to reverse the functions so the steps aren't out. Additionally, the Kwikee 32 Series Electric RV Steps # LC3722615 does not actually come with the switch kit, however; for that you need the Rocker Switch with Door Sensor for Kwikee Electric RV Steps - 250V # LC369311.

  You could use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test for voltage on the input and output side of the switch to see if the switch is allowing power to pass through it when it is turned on or not and also check to see if voltage is making it to the motor. Since you have the 32 series Kwikee step the kit you'd need to replace the controller, motor and gear box you'd want the part # LC379145. The door switch kit you'd need then is the part # LC369311.
