Review from a similar Gas and Carbon Detector in RV Gas Detectors

I just received the device and it says it was manufactured Dec 4 2020 and needs to be replaced Dec 5 2025. Today is Sep 13, 2021 so 10 of the 60 month lifespan is already gone. Given that these detectors are expensive ~$[XX] from every supplier, I'm very bothered that I don't get to use the product for it's full life. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the smallest faceplate neatly covers the hole that my previous detector required in my trailer wall. I'm replacing the original detector that came in my trailer which was a Atwood 31011.

5-yearold detector was going off constantly. OEM detector was unavailable. This one has adapter plates to cover the original hole. Easy replacement. It could use some longer screws, so I used the old ones.

Review from a similar Gas and Carbon Detector in RV Gas Detectors

After 7 years of owning my rv, the previous detector quit working and was no longer available in black. I wanted to have it in black because it was less of a contrast from the original. This detector covered the hole completely and was easy to install.

  • Replacement LP Gas Detector
The Atwood 31013 is no longer made. The best choice for replacement is the RVCO # RS34FR which mounts flush against the wall, and the overall measurements are 4-1/4" square, and it sticks out 1/2" from the wall. Works with 2-wire installations.

  • Replacement For RVCOLP-2 Propane & Carbon Monoxide Detector
Based on what you are saying, it sounds like the detector is faulty and needs to be replaced; you did the right thing with vacuuming it and checking the batteries, as those are the two steps that need to be taken to ensure there isn't a dust/voltage issue. Since there is not, replacing it is the right move, and you can do so with either a White or Black color: - White: 2-Wire RV Propane Gas and Carbon Monoxide Detector # RS34FR - Black: 2-Wire RV Propane Gas and Carbon Monoxide Detector...

  • Mounting Specifications For a 2-Wire RV Propane Gas And Carbon Monoxide Detector
The 2-Wire Carbon Monoxide Detector # RS34FR can be mounted vertically or horizontally, it does also state that it needs to be 4-18" from the floor and where it won't be obstructed to airflow. Additionally do not mount within 12" of any opening windows, exterior doors, fans, vents, or areas with a draft. To continue, do not mount on exterior walls, within 24" of any cooking appliances, behind furniture or any areas that would block flow to the alarm, and on a wall controlled by a power...

The 2-Wire RV Propane Gas and Carbon Monoxide Detector - 12 Volt - White # RS34FR has a 1 year limited warranty against manufacturers defects from the date of purchase. This does have a test feature so that you can check it even if your coach has been sitting for a while and make sure that it's functioning properly.

  • Atwood CO2 and Propane Detector Beeps and Flashes
Yes, it does indeed sound like the carbon monoxide detector has gone bad which is usually the case when you get a bunch of false alerts. The average lifespan is around 5-7 years so it's time to replace this one for which I recommend using the RVSafe RV Carbon Monoxide and Propane Gas Detector part # RS34FR.

  • Replacement RV Carbon Monoxide Detector for Atwood 900-0143-LPM
I have a solution for you but there is not a direct replacement for your old Atwood unit. Instead, you can use the 2-Wire RV Propane Gas and Carbon Monoxide Detector - 12 Volt - White # RS34FR to replace your old Atwood carbon monoxide detector, but this is a wired model so it's not a direct replacement. This would be the only solution currently available but it will protect you from natural gas leaks or carbon monoxide.

  • Troubleshooting Atwood RV Carbon Monoxide and Propane Detector with Red Light Flashing on Propane
The red blinking light on the light of the Atwood RV Carbon Monoxide and Propane Gas Detector AT36681 typically means that the propane sensor is disabled or faulty. Since you've already tried resetting the unit you'll want to make sure you are getting at least 9 volts to the unit. If the unit is getting proper power (~12v), this would indicate the unit is faulty and would need to be replaced. I don't believe the Atwood units are still being made since they were sold to Dometic a few...

  • Recommended Replacement for ProTechTor Propane Gas Detector
I'm not aware of a way to reset a ProTechTor propane leak detector, but this unit is somewhat obsolete at this point so I do recommend replacing it. The Atwood model you've mentioned is no longer available but the 2-Wire RV Propane Gas and Carbon Monoxide Detector - 12 Volt - White # RS34FR is also a high quality replacement that detects propane gas and carbon monoxide, so it's the best solution to protect you and your family from dangerous gas leaks.

  • Troubleshooting Atwood RV Carbon Monoxide Detector That Has Blinking Light When Hooked To Batteries
Since the Atwood RV Carbon Monoxide and Propane Gas Detector AT36681 you have is not blinking when you are hooked up to shore power, and only when running off the batteries I recommend checking the wiring connections to the battery which could have come loose. Changing your carbon and propane detector is a very simple process. If installing the RV Safe Carbon Monoxide and Propane Gas Detector Item # RS34FR you want to make sure your power is turned off and remove the old unit from the wall. Before disconnecting the wiring observe how it is wired. You simply have 12 volt power going to the unit and a ground. There will be one red wire and one black wire. On your 2019 LTV Motorhome, the Atwood 31011 (Discontinued) CO/Propane Detector beeping every couple hours while driving could be a couple different things. I would start with checking the battery to make sure it isn't getting too low. If it is low, fully charge it and see if the chirping stops. If your battery is fully charged and it is still chirping then the unit is malfunctioning and should be replaced.
