Replaces the electric steps, motor, and control unit for your Kwikee 27 series RV steps. Motor and control unit automatically extend and retract the steps when you open and close your door. Wiring pigtail hardwires to your RV's power.
Features:
Specs:
Note: This step assembly includes the steps, motor, and control unit only. The steps will operate automatically, extending when the RV door opens and retracting when the door closes.
If you want the complete step assembly that also allows you to override the automatic retraction so the steps stay out whether the door is open or closed, you will need a switch kit (sold separately).
The included 4-way plug fits into the existing wiring harness on your RV. Most vehicles should having this wiring already set up. In the event that your RV is missing the wiring, a 4-way pigtail is included to help you hardwire the unit to your RV.
Will Kwikee Electric Steps Work for You?
Electric steps are typically installed on RVs and some travel trailers. The electric steps from Kwikee install and fold up underneath the camper for simple storage. To ensure you choose the correct size for your application, there are a few measurements you will need to take.
The Kwikee electric steps attach to the underside of the camper chassis, directly beneath the doorway. To decide which size you'll need, locate the space available underneath your camper that lines up with the doorframe, and measure the width and depth. You will need a mounting space that is at least 30-5/8" wide and 11-3/4" deep.
If it turns out you have more or less space beneath your doorway, there are other step assemblies available with bracket sizes ranging from 24-3/4" wide to 37-1/4" wide. A full list of the available steps is below.
Outriggers - metal brackets that act as an extension (LC301704 - sold separately) - may be needed for installation depending on the model of your original stairs. These provide extra length if the old steps are longer or wider than the new.
Once you know where the mounting bracket will go and what size mounting bracket you need, that spot will be used as the "mounting point" to determine how many steps you will need.
How Many Steps Do You Need?
To decide on how many steps you'll need, measure from the mounting point to the ground. This is called the entry height. The entry height should roughly match the height of the steps when they're fully extended, plus 6" to 8" to account for the drop from the bottom step to the ground. This measurement will also tell you how many steps you need.
The chart below displays mounting bracket widths in the first column and entry height measurements in the second column. The third column shows the corresponding part numbers. Use the mounting bracket width and entry height measurements you took to determine which part number will fit your RV. Choose the bracket size that is closest to your measurements without going over.
This page's step assembly is in bold text.

Replaces the electric steps, motor, and control unit for your Kwikee 27 series RV steps. Motor and control unit automatically extend and retract the steps when you open and close your door. Wiring pigtail hardwires to your RV's power.Great stairs and exact replacement on our 2010 Tiffin Allegro Open Road Red. Four bolts and plugged right into existing wiring connector. The only thing we had to do was swap out the door contact for normally closed vs normally open. We also removed the skid tape and installed a custom version we had made from a skateboard shop. We like quahogs. : )
Great step. Identical to OEM on my 2011 Tiffin Phaeton. Works great and installed without too much difficulty. I only wish they would make a step with a larger depth of tread. I really miss the depth of tread I had on my fifth wheel after installing a Lippert solid step
Our new replacement steps arrived within 4 days of ordering and were an identical replacement for the old steps. There were four bolts holding the steps on and some wires that had connections identical to the existing ones. I used a floor jack to support the steps during removal and replacement. It took me about an hour to make this relatively simple change. The new steps work great!
The steps are working as advertised, unfortunately the steps are not a direct replacement for the old obsolete steps. I had to have a machine shop manufacture a steel adapter plate to mount the steps. The riser height from the second step to the first step in the Coach is increased by six inches making it difficult for some people to enter our coach. We had to replace the door magnetic switch to a normally open switch to get the steps to extend when we opened the door.

The steps are still working well. We haven’t had any problems.
lippert step assembly came in a etrailer box No paperwork and no new door switch as they normally come
This step replaced the original that had sustained unrepairable damage by the previous owner. Replacement parts are no longer available, so a new assembly was required. The quality of the new unit is superior to the old and it bolted up to the original holes and plugged in to the original harness. The only complaint is that the mounting dimensions shown on the web page are inaccurate and misleading, as it appeared that new holes would have to be drilled to mount the steps, in reality, the step dimensions were correct and no modifications were required. I am satisfied with the end result.
Product is good. It’s the ordering from etrailer. When I placed the order over the phone I asked if I needed to change the door contact switch and was told no I don’t need it.
Installed the new step and it works in reverse of what it should. Did some research and I do in fact need one. Ordered the $[XX] contact and having to pay $[XX] for overnight shipping to get before my next trip. Had they gave me the correct information I would not be having to spend double in shipping compared to the contact.
The Series 27 #LC375632 with 29" tread was an exact fit. Only issue is that etrailer tried to offer a Series 32 which was in stock. The manufacturer says the Series 27 has been discontinued and the 32 replaces. But the Series 32 is only 24" wide. It would never fit.
As always etrailer, went above and beyond, when UPS damaged our order, they got a new one out right away no questions ask I received it it fit as promised, and works wonderfully! Appreciate all the help from the staff on finding the correct part at a great price and great customer service.
This being our first motor home- we had no idea that the steps would stop working until it happened - we consulted a friend who works on them & after looking at it he was able to get the make & model number of steps. Went into the kwikee site troubleshooting Q&A we were able to match to correct one - ordered it & received in 4 days. Fits as it should & hooked up in less than 2 hrs.

Steps are still working great - thanks for asking!
Step is working as expected. Easy installation. Etrailer Rep was exceptional and very knowledgeable about product.
Always great. Arrives on time or earlier than expected. Only thing is we ordered some electric steps. 27" in length. The box it came in was about 4 ' with no other Styrofoam or cardboard to keep in from sliding back and forth in box.UPS manhandles items, so got some little dents and scratches. Just need better packaging. Thanks
Box came open and was missing paperwork and door switch..

Hey thank you for letting us know! I will have Customer Service contact you so that we can take care of this quickly.
Great quality and mostly easy to install, 5 bolts and one electrical plug. Tip, use floor jack to hold in place while inserting bolts.
Fast shipping, installation of step was a direct swap except for the wiring, had to reverse two wires, operation is smooth.
Love the new power steps
Very very fast. Do need to pack a product of this size and heavyweight better and not so lose in a large box.
arrived 2 days earlier than forecasted and fit exactly as advertised. 2016 Tiffin Allegro RED, Series 27 double stair
Very good service and a perfect fit
Perfect replacement step

Very good, but I had to reverse the wiring. It would extend when the door was closed and retract when the door was opened.

Painless process. These guys have it si mplified.

If the steps are not quite a fit then I recommend using outriggers like part # LC301704. These provide extra length if the old steps are longer or wider than the new.
