Troubleshooting Lippert Kwikee RV Steps that Work Retract Instead of Extend

Question:
Ive installed these steps but theyre working backwards. When I open the door the steps retract. But when I close it they try to expand. Help!

When any of the Lippert Kwikee steps, like part # LC3722862, are working in the opposite fashion that they're supposed to you need to change your door magnets from "normally closed" to "normally open".
This should solve your issue. If it doesn't let me know and we'll continue to troubleshoot.
