Features to know about

Adapt to Versatility: Hitch Reducer for Dual Receiver Use

Transform your 2-inch hitch receiver into a versatile mount with the Trailer Hitch Reducer, making it compatible with 1-1/4-inch accessories. Ideal for those with multiple hitch-mounted accessories like bike racks or cargo carriers, this reducer makes it easy to swap gear between vehicles. The steel construction with a matte black powder finish not only looks great but also resists corrosion, ensuring a long lifespan.

Seamless Accessory Transition: Includes Hitch Pin and Clip

Simplify your setup with the included hitch pin and clip. Whether you're attaching a bike rack for a family outing or a cargo carrier for a road trip, this feature ensures secure and quick transitions between different hitch accessories. No additional purchases required for basic installations—enjoy peace of mind and time savings right out of the box.

Durability Meets Style: Matte Black Powder Finish

Aesthetics and functionality come together with this durable steel reducer, finished with a matte black powder coat. Not only does it resist corrosion to withstand the elements, but it also complements your vehicle’s appearance. This finish ensures the reducer retains its sleek look while offering robust performance.

Precision Fit: Designed for Reliable Performance

Engineered to fit 2-inch x 2-inch hitch receivers precisely, this reducer is crafted to reduce your receiver size to 1-1/4 inches seamlessly. With a total length of 7-1/16 inches and meticulous attention to pin-hole placement, you can count on a snug, wobble-free fit each time you attach your gear.

Safety First: Not for Towing Applications

While this adapter is great for bike racks and cargo carriers, it's not intended for towing applications. By focusing on hitch-mounted accessories, it ensures that you maintain safe and appropriate usage of your hitch without compromising the weight capacity designed for towing.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for a 2024 Subaru Outback Touring XT
Curtis, it does look like the only hitches offered for a 2024 Subaru Outback Wagon like # DT73RR are going to be class III hitches which are going to have 2" receivers. If it's an accessory you're trying to use that only works with a 1 1/4" hitch then you could just use the Trailer Hitch Reducer # e63YR and you'd be all set.

  • Is there a 1-1/4" Hitch for a 2023 Kia Niro Hybrid?
Allow me to clear up the confusion Bill. I just checked with Draw-Tite and their item # 36600 will not fit the Hybrid model of the 2023 Kia Niro. Just the standard model. For your 2023 Kia Niro Hybrid there are no class I hitches with a 1-1/4" receiver. You'll need to go with the class III 2" Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch item # DT79YR. Usually when people request a 1-1/4" receiver over an existing 2" option they have a bike rack already. With this hitch installed you can use the Trailer...

  • Recommended Hitch for a 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander ES
Sorry but no! The only hitch available for the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander ES is the 2" Curt item # C87WR you were looking at. If you are wanting to use 1-1/4" accessories with this hitch all you will need is the Trailer Hitch Reducer 2" to 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver item # e63YR. This inserts inside the 2" receiver and allows you to mount 1-1/4" accessories like bike racks and cargo carriers. It is not an adapter so you will not lose any tongue weight capacity or violate your accessories...

  • Will Trailer Hitch From 2006 Hyundai Tucson Also Fit 2023 Tucson?
Hello Joan, thanks for getting in touch. The hitch for the 2006 Hyundai Tucson, the Curt # C12126, will fit the 2005-2009 Tucson models. So it will not transfer over to the 2023, and you will need a new hitch. For that I recommend the Curt # C94WR. This has a 2" receiver, and this is the only receiver size available for the 2023 Tucson. If need be, you can reduce the receiver down to a 1-1/4" using part # e63YR. What do you plan to use the hitch for? Is it for a bike rack, or are you...

  • Do You Have a 1 1/4" Receiver Hitch for My 2025 Hyundai Kona so I can Use My Bike Rack?
Hello Tim, I take it you already have the bike rack which is why you are looking for the 1 1/4" receiver. We only have the 2" receiver for the 2024 Hyundai Kona but that's ok because we can make it work. If your Kona is the Electric, N Line, and N models you will want the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # C43RV. If your Kona is NOT the Electric, N Line, and N models you will want the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # C39RV or the Draw-tite one you were looking...

  • Availability of 2" to 1-1/4" Reducer With Built-In Rise for Bike Rack
Hi LDJ; we have reducers like the # e63YR but none with a built in rise. What you can do is pair it with Gen-Y stacked receivers like the # 325-GH-303 with a 5" rise/drop or # 325-GH-304 with a 7-1/2" rise/drop. The design prevents any reduction in hitch capacity like other adapters and will get you the extra clearance. The Gen-Y is pretty solid but I recommend using an anti-rattle like # GY88XR to help reduce unwanted movement as you add more parts to your bike rack setup.

  • Is The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e83ZR Able To Fit A 1-1/4" Shank Bike Rack
The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e83ZR is designed with a 2" receiver tube so you would just need to use a reducer sleeve # e63YR in order to haul your bike rack with a 1-1/4" shank.

  • Will Using An Adapter Sleeve Reduce My Tongue Weight Capacity
No, using a reducer sleeve like the # e63YR will not reduce your tongue weight capacity. The reduction of weight capacity only applies to an extension. With extensions you are bringing the center of weight farther from the hitch, which exaggerates the downward force on the hitch. You do not have to worry about that with an adapter sleeve, since the center of weight is not being moved.

  • Recommended 2 Inch to 1-1/4 Inch Reducer for a Bike Rack
Since you're just hooking up a bike rack, I recommend the Trailer Hitch Reducer item # e63YR. Neither one of them will cut your tongue weight capacity in half because they are reducers not adapters. The difference between item # HT02 and item # e63YR is you can tow and hook up accessories like bike racks and cargo carriers with item # HT02. The etrailer Reducer item # e63YR is only meant to be used for accessories.

  • 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Riser For 1-1/4" Hitch Mounted Accessories
The Trailer Hitch Adapter # e93YR is the closest extender/riser to the Trailer Hitch Extender # e68YR you found. The adapter does change from the 1-1/4" receiver to a 2" receiver for the accessory. You would need the Reducer # e63YR to get back down to a 1-1/4" receiver. Be sure to consider both the extender you found and the adapter that I gave you above will reduce the capacity of the receiver by 50%.

  • Availability of Class I Hitch for 2023 Chevrolet Bolt EUV
Nobody makes a Class I hitch for the 2022 or 2023 Chevy Bolt EUV. Realistically, with a Class III option for both years it is unlikely anyone plans to make one. We typically recommend a Class III regardless because it does not have the limitations of a Class I hitch and can be easily adapted. The Curt # C38DR has been confirmed to fit the 2023 model by the manufacturers. We also have confirmation from other 2023 Bolt EUV owners that the hitch fits. I see the Curt was previously recommended,...

  • Recommended Hitch for a 2022 Toyota Venza Using 1-1/4" Accessories
I have a solution for you that will allow you to use any 1-1/4" accessories you may already own but they did not make any 1-1/4" hitches for the 2022 Toyota Venzas. Instead you are going to want the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver item # e25AR. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Venza with included hardware. This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver that has a 525 lbs tongue weight capacity and a 3,500 lbs towing capacity. To use 1-1/4" accessories you will want the Trailer...

Hello Jack, we have just the thing! Take a look at the Trailer Hitch Reducer part # e63YR. This will adapt your 2" hitch down to a 1-1/4" receiver. Just please note, this adapter cannot be used for towing applications. It can only be used for hitch mounted accessories like a bike rack or cargo carrier. • Trailer Hitch Needed For A 1990 Volkswagen Cabriolet
Hey Jim, There unfortunately isn't a custom-fit trailer hitch available for your 1990 Volkswagen Cabriolet so you'd have to get in touch with a local fabricator shop and have them build you one using a receiver tube like the # 337RT255808. They'll need to determine the drop needed from the frame to clear the rear fascia and the build the crosstube to fit around the exhaust and any other components under the vehicle. The # 337RT255808 is just an example, if you need a different length...

I do have an option for you but the Kuat Bike Rack Shank Adapter part # D101 doesn't work on the Kuat Transfer, only the Kuat Transfer V2 which is the second generation of the rack. Instead, I recommend using the Trailer Hitch Reducer 2" to 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver part # e63YR which does the same thing, it's just a bit different. You will however need another hitch pin for this to work, the etrailer Hitch Receiver Lock part # e98881 is what I recommend. Please note, Kuat does offer...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for a 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid
Yes Mike, it's a combination of the rear hatch sensors and some fascia that would need to be trimmed that make # C12169 not a fit for the Hybrid models, but if you don't have the kick sensors, then this might not be a big deal for you and should work fine. I know you mentioned that you wanted a 1 1/4" hitch, but we do also have the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13397 which is a confirmed fit on all of the 2024 Honda CR-V models, including the Hybrid. You could then use a hitch reducer...

  • Trailer Hitch Fit for 2022 Kia Niro PHEV Plug In Hybrid
We do indeed have a 2 inch hitch that works with the 2022 Kia Niro PHEV. You'll want to use the Curt 13497 Class III hitch, which we carry as part # C37BR. If your Thule rack is compatible with a 1-1/4 inch hitch, you'll want to use a reducer sleeve like # e63YR. I've linked to the installation instructions.

  • Recommended 2 Hitch for a 2023 Hyundai Tucson
I have a solution for you but the only hitches available for the 2023 Hyundai Tucson are class III. The best option is going to be to use a 2" hitch with an adapter like the Trailer Hitch Reducer item # e63YR. This reducer will allow you to use 1-1/4" accessories with a 2" hitch. It is a better option all around to go with a class III hitch if the option is available. The higher capacity and availability will pay off over the life of your vehicle. The class II hitches are typically more...

  • Recommended Hitch for a 2018 Mercedes B250
No, I am sorry Ted but the Curt item # C12163 won't fit your 2018 Mercedes B250. The only hitch we have available for it is the Draw-Tite item # 75223 you referenced. If you are needing to use 1-1/4" accessories with this hitch, I recommend the Trailer Hitch Reducer 2" to 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver item # e63YR. This will allow you to use your accessories in the 2" receiver without sacrificing capacity. I have linked a couple of videos below so you can see how to get these parts set up.

  • Converting Yakima HoldUp Bike Rack for 1-1/4 Inch Receiver to Fit a 2 Inch Receiver
The preferred method to install your Yakima HoldUp Bike Rack # Y02445 with your 2" hitch is to use the Replacement Tongue for Yakima HoldUp Bike Racks # 8880580. Since this replaces the shank and isn't using an adapter it will help prevent any play that you might have with an adapter. The other option is to use a hitch reducer like the Trailer Hitch Reducer 2" to 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver # e63YR. This will reduce the size of your receiver so you will be able to use your bike rack....

They have the threaded hole in the shank that aligns with the hole on the adapter. If your bike carrier is one of those listed, this adapter would work for you. • When Will Curt Release A Class I Trailer Hitch Receiver For A 2024/2025 Chevy Trax
Hey Walter, There still is no hard date for when Curt will release the Class I trailer hitch for the 2024/2025 models of the Chevy Trax. They have released a Class 3" trailer hitch receiver # C75VV that is confirmed to fit 24/25 year models though. This would provide you with more capability to haul accessories since a 2" shank is the most common sizing. For accessories that require a 1-1/4" receiver tube you can use a reducer # e63YR.
