Question:

Hi, I have the Thule T2 classic bike rack with the 1.25” hitch and I want to swap out the lower part of the Thule backbone from the 1.25” hitch to the 2” hitch shank. Do you have just that part? I don’t want the whole backbone for ~$340, I just want to swap the lower part out with the two bolts that hold it together there. Thanks

Hi Joe; I'm sorry to say that the only way to convert your Thule T2 Classic to the 2" shank is with the # 753-3581. The 2" shank itself is not available from Thule without the backbone. The only other option is to use a hitch reducer like # e63YR.

Hey Joe, did you decide to go with the hitch reducer for your Thule T2 Classic, or are you still exploring other options? I'm asking because your experience could really help others facing the same challenge.
