Note: Can also be used on generic 1-1/4" bike racks but it can be difficult to align the hitch tube, adapter sleeve, and hitch hole in your receiver. Once secured to the hitch it works well but installation can be difficult.

What's up everybody. It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be checking out this two inch adapter for the RockyMounts MonoRail. So it's gonna turn the inch and a quarter into a two inch so I can put it on my car. Let's check it out. So we have my monorail right here.
I let a friend borrow it and they lost the sleeve. So by the time I finally got it back, I can't put it in the back of my car. Luckily I can order this part separately. So I don't have to get a whole new bike rack because as you can see it's seen better days, but it still works. So I don't want to buy a new bike rack again.
I can just get this part. It's just going to be as easy as sliding this onto the monorail. We'll add this M6 screw. You'll see right there is where that's going to go into to secure it. Just get that lined up.
I'll get it started and come back with the hex head wrench and tighten it down. Now it's on there. We can put it on the car. Test it out. It seems like it fits just fine.
Good as new. So it's really easy to install. I'm glad that I could replace it rather than buying a whole new bike rack. I wasn't ready to do that. Just buying that simple part, put it on there. I can use it in my car again. And you can still take it off if you have somebody that wants to use an inch and a quarter. It's not like it's permanent. It's just as easy to take right back off and put it on their car. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out and hope this helped..

allowed me to use my current bike rack on my new truck which has a 2" receiver. fit is snug in the receiver and holds rack stably in place. hitch pin needs only occasional tightening which is expected
The quality of this adapters is nice and heavy and it’s aluminum so that’s nice, but I wish the small screw holes lined up.
beautiful product works as expected
Ordered this to use on a Yakima bike rack. Not even close to fitting on the 1 1/4 shank. It would take a lot of grinding to make it work, if it’s even possible. Definitely not worth the effort. The set screw that’s pictured does not screw into the adapter. You would have to drill and tap your bike rack to use it. It’s probably fine for a MonoRail bike rack, but I wouldn’t recommend it for anything else.
Delivered as promised and works just fi ne!
For no discernible reason, RockyMounts 1-1/4" to 2" hitch adapter sleeve would not slide down onto 1-1/4" shank of Thule rack. Will have to return item and try to find another product that will function as expected and promised.

I have another solution for you. If you have a Thule Doubletrack, Hitching Post Pro, or Vertex bike rack then the adapter that you will need is part #

This is true this item is only for a RockyMounts MonoRail 1.25 inch bike rack. Your Yakima rack could possibly adapt with Item # 8880519 if you have the Yakima TwoTimer bike rack Y02468 or Y02468-FB.
