Hi Seth!

I do have an option for you, but the 2" replacement T2 Classic shank 1500056446 was discontinued early 2025, unfortunately. I did a cursory look online, but I was unable to find anywhere that had any in stock. You may have better luck if you look harder than I did, but I can't guaranty you will find one.

That said, the Replacement 1-1/4" Hitch and Backbone Assembly for Thule T2 Classic 2-Bike Platform Rack # 753370902 can be used in a 2" hitch with an adapter. Something like the Curt Reducer Sleeve # C49WQ or the etrailer Trailer Hitch Reducer # e63YR will work perfectly with this shank and neither will reduce the tongue weight, which is a big plus. The etrailer option will be the easier one to use, but you would need to have two pins to hold everything in place (one for your bike rack and one for the adapter). The Curt option will use the pin that holds the bike rack in the hitch to also hold the adapter. It can be a bit of a pain to keep everything lined up though.

What kind of bikes are you carrying?

Hello, I’m expecting to be carrying 1 e-bike (not purchased so I don’t know the weight), 1 XL Scott Spark 950, and 2 20” kids bikes (on the 2 bike extension). Is the 1.25” hitch rated for the same total weight as the 2” version was? Thanks, Seth

@Seth Oh shoot, I hadn't thought about the 2 bike extension. The 1-1/4" shank is only rated for two 50 pound bikes. I did a much more extensive search for the 2" option, but I came up dry, unfortunately. I know this will be a huge bummer, but you might need to replace the bike rack at this point. Something like the Hollywood Racks Destination Bike Rack for 4 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # HR4000 can handle up to 35 pounds per bike and will carry up to 4 bikes. It's a fairly inexpensive option, but it's also a pretty good option and works for just about everyone. It will all kind of depend on the E-bike you end up going with. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you. : (
