Big brake controllers can clutter up your cab, but this one keeps things clean. The Curt Spectrum hides the main unit behind the dash, leaving only a small 1-3/4" diameter knob visible. It sits flush against the surface so there’s no bulky box hitting your knees or blocking lower airbags. You can mount the knob in a blank panel or console spot using a screw or adhesive pad—no drilling needed. The main module connects with a 4' cable, giving you freedom to place it wherever it fits best.

This system uses an internal 3-axis accelerometer to match your trailer’s brakes to how hard you press the pedal. The result is smooth, even braking across all 1 to 4 axles, whether you’re easing into a stop or braking hard downhill. It supports electric trailer brakes and works seamlessly with ABS, cruise control, low-voltage wiring, multiplex wiring, and PWM systems. That means steady control and less wear on tires and pads every time you tow.
You don’t need to splice wires or tear apart your dash. The custom-fit harness plugs directly into your vehicle’s existing brake controller port and then into the Spectrum’s main unit—100% plug and play. Once connected, the 3" x 3-1/2" x 7/8" main module calibrates automatically no matter what angle it’s mounted at. Just plug it in, stick the knob in place, and you’re ready to tow.
Everything runs through one easy-to-use dial. Turn it to adjust braking output or sensitivity and push the center button for a quick manual override—perfect for controlling sway or stopping momentum in an emergency. The knob’s LED ring changes colors and patterns to show power levels, modes, and troubleshooting info at a glance. When disconnected from a trailer, it goes to sleep so it’s not constantly lit up; a quick press wakes it with flashing blue lights for easy status checks.

The Spectrum handles trailers with up to 8 brake assemblies and adapts easily across setups that use different brake types or wiring systems. Because the accelerometer senses direction on its own, you can mount the unit at any angle behind panels or trim without worrying about alignment. That flexibility makes it simple to keep your cab clean while getting reliable proportional braking anywhere you tow.

Après un an dusage, je trouve ce produit difficile à ajuster selon le poids chargé dans la remorque. Le processus est compliqué et je dois me référer au livre dinstruction. Pas pratique.

I really haven’t used it much after install except to test with empty car trailer. It worked well. Three or four people I have showed it to have been impressed! Thanks

I have thousands of miles on the trailer now. The brake controller has worked flawlessly. I have towed cars, ATVs and loads of lumber just set the controller for the load and it does the rest. Excellent product.
