Installation
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the trim access cover, scuff panels, and tail lights to access these connection points. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead to your car battery, which can be found in the engine compartment. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your trunk.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A tail light converter is built into this T-connector. This converter is a circuit-protected, battery-powered unit that bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness. As a result, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.
Curt builds each tail light converter using surface-mount technology (SMT). This method of construction involves soldering electronic components directly to the surface of a printed circuit board. SMT eliminates the need for leads, which are used in older through-hole technology. The result is a circuit board that is smaller yet provides more routing area and that offers superior performance, reliability and durability.
Circuit boards constructed using SMT have been shown to perform better under rough conditions with excessive vibration than those made using the through-hole method. And where would vibration be more likely to occur than in towing applications? Curt converters also produce less heat, leading to increased durability and longer life. In addition, lower levels of resistance ensure better performance, especially for parts that operate at higher frequencies.

Great Hitch, it help me a lot with moving my trailer, moving my power equipment. From place to place. Very strong Hitch and easy installation.
Easy to install. Was able to put wire thru rubber grommet in firewall and keep the power cable from battery inside the vehicle and tucked under plastic flooring to the back of vehicle.
The green wire was too short. I had to add more wire to it so it would reach.
It is ok now.

The unit looks like an excellent fix for my needs. The plug and play is what I like about the unit. If the price was 20 bucks cheaper, it would make my wallet feel better. If this is as good as other parts that I have ordered from Etrailer, I will be happy with the final outcome.
Product itself and install videos are great (5 stars) but you need to do a better job with packaging. See photos.
Installed a 2” hitch and wiring harness on my new 2023 Mazda CX-5. Install went Great. The self help videos were Awesome, explained everything perfectly. All parts went in with no problem. Product is built really well and it fit perfect. Thank you.
Worked as expected. A little time consuming to hook up, but that was because of the vehicle, not the product. Happy with the purchase as usual.
Product connected with no issues, other than having to run the power cord all the way from the back of the car to the battery in front. The connectors for connecting the wires together are cheaply made. Had to buy new ones from local auto parts store to connect the fuse holder to the battery.
Nice gauge wires. Only issue I had was getting through my firewall in Mazda CX-5. But that is not an issue with this wiring, rather installer challenge. I was going to mount next to my hitch point as on a previous car, but I won't be using it that often I can't run it out of the rear hatch.

It’s about as good as I get. Install of hitch required a second person and removing the muffler. I wish they made galvanized hitches which is the main reason for removing a star, already a little rust is showing. That is the way they are.
need to run power wire from 12V supply makes installation very hard,
works great on my mazda cx5. Had installed harness from mazda, never could get it to work. curt t connector was so much simpler to install and works the way it should
Fairly simple to install. I did some small modification to meet my needs. WATCH THE VIDEO. The written instructions are a bit messy.

I ordered the wrong trailer harness, so I have reordered and am returning the one I received.
I installed this kit on a 2023 Mazda cx5. Plugged right into the factory harness in trunk. No splicing needed. Then just run positive to battery with fuse kit provided. Instructions and video are great.
This harness was fantastic. This made a first time hitch install a breeze. The brake harness connectors were perfect and came with everything needed to complete a clean install. Very satisfied with everything I purchased to make this happen.

Fit perfectly on the CX-50. The most difficult part was running the wire from the rear to the battery terminal. Total time took about 1.5 hrs but I’m excited to be able to haul my ATV around again! Would definitely recommend.

Easy to install (other than pulling car apart!). Instructions were clear. It took me about 1 hour to disassemble the car, complete all the wiring, and re-assemble the car.
