Will Curt Spectrum Brake Controller Work with a 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500 Without Tow Package

Question:

FITS 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Curt Spectrum Brake Controller w/ Custom Harness - Dash Mounted Knob - Up to 4 Axles - Proportional. Interested in this for my 2025 Chevy Silverado. My vehicle did not come with a hitch, but the dealer is installing it along with the trailer wiring at the bumper/hitch location. Item states with factory tow package. Will this work with my set up. Concerned I may have a conflict since it didnt come with a factory tow package. Thanks

Hey Lyman, thanks for reaching out!

Your dealer should be installing a full 7-Way on your 2025 Silverado 1500, but you'll need to ask them if the brake controller harness will be present under the dash. The 2025 model year is still new enough that we don't have insight into whether that plug already exists or not for vehicle initially not having the tow package.

If it does have the wiring then the Curt Spectrum Brake Controller w/ Custom Harness # C36QV will plug right into, but if it doesn't have it, you'll want to ask the dealer to make sure brake controller wiring is installed on your truck so you can use this.

What trailer are you planning on towing?

Hey Lyman, were you able to find out if your Silverado has the brake controller harness under the dash? Knowing that could help others setting up the Curt Spectrum controller on trucks without the factory tow package. Your update could make it easier for the next person with the same question.
