Troubleshooting Curt Spectrum with Green Light that Stays On
Updated 09/04/2024 | Published 08/29/2024 >
Question:
Hi, Im getting ready to go camping and see that my curt spectrum brake controller is not functioning. It has one green LED illuminated and that light is staying on regardless of whether or not the car is powered on. Turning the dial does nothing and pressing the button does nothing. I recently had to disconnect and reconnect my battery to reset the infotainment system. Could that have hurt the controller? Im at a loss for what I can do.

Hey Tom, so it is possible having your battery disconnected did cause your Curt Spectrum # C36QV to develop an internal problem. Hopefully it's temporary though and by just unplugging it and plugging it back it will allow it to work again.
Let me know if the reset works or not.

Thank you for your reply. I wish I had thought of trying that because I got it serviced at my dealer and, after 5 hours, they too felt it just needed a reboot/ reprogramming. It is supposedly all better now, but I won't find out for sure until this weekend when I hook up my camper again.
