What Colors Will Curt Spectrum Brake Controller Light Up with Brake Pedal Pressed

Mine only light up red when hitting the brakes.

The Curt Spectrum # C51170 will light up from green to red (with the trailer connected) depending on what power setting you chose. This will be the case whether you are parked or heading down the road. I confirmed this with my contact at Curt.

There are only 3 times that your Spectrum controller will be lighting up red: When using the manual override function. The red wire is connected to the ground side of the stop light switch or is shorted to the ground. The controller is miswired. The only way to have the manual override function work is by pressing and holding the knob so it wouldn't be that. What you'll need to do is double check your installation and be sure that all of the wires are secured, are in good condition, and that they are installed correctly. Make sure that any ground connections you made are secured to a clean, bare-metal surface as well. If this doesn't fix your problem please let me know and I can assist you further.
