This hitch is built to take on serious towing duty with a 25,000-lb gross towing weight rating and a 6,250-lb vertical load limit. The sturdy steel construction and carbide powder coat finish give it the strength and durability to handle long hauls with heavy fifth-wheels. It’s a solid platform you can count on for stability and control mile after mile.
The interlocking two-jaw design wraps completely around the king pin, creating a tight 360-degree hold that cuts down on rattle and movement. Compared to slide-bar models, this setup delivers a quieter, more secure ride and smoother hookup. The result is less stress on your rig and more confidence every time you pull away.

A quick glance tells you exactly what’s happening with your hitch. The color-coded system shows red for uncoupled, yellow for ready to couple, and green for tow. Both indicators—the one on the handle and the one on the hitch—are easy to see from outside the bed, so you know without guessing when it’s safe to roll.
The fully articulating torsion head helps align the trailer during hookup while suppressing road shock once you’re rolling. It keeps the connection stable and quiet over bumps and uneven roads. That smoother movement makes every trip more comfortable and helps your trailer track straight behind you.
When it’s time to unload or reclaim your bed space, the fast one-pin head removal makes it simple for one person to lift off the hitch head. It’s a practical design that saves effort without compromising strength. Built-in zerk fittings also make lubrication easy so maintenance doesn’t slow you down between trips.
This fifth-wheel hitch is compatible with rotating pin boxes, such as the Reese Sidewinder, Reese Revolution, and 5th Airborne Sidewinder, only when used with a wedge (sold separately).

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the CURT Universal Carbide Black Finish Fifth Wheel Base Rails. Now, these base rails will install in your truck bed. And they provide the necessary attachment points for your fifth wheel hitch installation. Now, when these rails are used with the CURT's Custom Mounting Brackets, which we sell separate on a website, these rails will cut in half the time it takes to install your fifth wheel trailer hitch.
We mentioned the finish on this. I'm gonna zoom in and sort of show it. It's a carbide black finish, sort of like a matte black finish, so it matches the finish if you use it on the CURT Q5 20K Fifth Wheel Hitch. Now, these rails are universal, so they will work with the following fifth wheel hitches. They work with the CURT brand, the Draw-Tite, the Hidden Hitch, the Reese, and even the Husky.
This part here will include the two base rails. Now, we mentioned the mounting brackets, the custom mounting brackets, the hardware, and an installation kit is all sold separately. The length on these rails, if we put a tape measure on them from one end to the other, right at 43 inches long. But that should do it for the review on the CURT Universal Carbide Black Finish Fifth Wheel Base Rails.
