Footprint of the Curt A25 5th Wheel Hitch

Question:
I have a 2023 Chevy 3500 SRW Diesel Crew Cab 8 Bed with Puck System from the factory I am looking for a Curt 25k 5th wheel hitch that will fit below the top of the bed so it will fit under a roll up bed cover. Can you please let me know if they make one for the 8 bed? Is it sliding or do I not need a sliding for the 8 bed Can you give me the dimensions? The 5th wheel will have a GVW of 18k. Is it wise to get a larger capacity hitch? Does stronger make the ride harsher? Please give me any other advice you think I may need. Sorry.... thank you in advance.

Hey David, the Curt A25 # C16180 will work with your 8' bed and is not a sliding hitch. You don't need a sliding hitch with an 8' bed since the bed is long enough. This hitch will just drop into any standard set of 5th wheel rails, and will be ready to roll.
What kind of dimensions do you need? I can tell you this hitch has a 22" x 29" footprint, but if you're looking for something else, let me know!
With your trailer being 18k, I'd get either a 20 or 25k so this hitch is perfectly fine and won't harshen the ride at all. Let me know if you have any more questions!
