  • Replacement Hubs for 2,700 lb Axle
Based on your photo it looks like you have 2,700 lb axles, and we do have hubs for that size axle. However, you will need to confirm the bearings your current hub has. You will need to take apart your current hub assembly and look at the bearings themselves; wipe away the grease and you should be able to see the part number stamped directly on them. If you are unable to find them, you need to use a digital caliper to measure your spindle to the thousandths of an inch where the bearings...

  • Recommended Replacement Grease Seals for a Boat Trailer With BT8 Spindles
Hey Paul, it sounds like your boat trailer uses a BT8 spindle, so you can use the Double Lip Grease Seal # 34823. This seal has an inner diameter of 1.25" , an outer diameter of 1.98", and will work with BT8 spindles.

  • Recommended Seal For Bearing Buddy Protectors
The Bearing Buddy Bearing Protectors - Model 1980A-SS w/ Auto Check - Stainless Steel (Pair) # BB1980A-SS are designed for that blue seal to expand and eventually have visible grease around that edge. I've attached a video that shows this installation and grease application for you. The grease needing to be applied almost every trip is not normal, so I recommend the Spindle Grease Seal Set # BB60002 to contain your grease with a tight seal intended for this application.

  • Replacement for Bearing LM48548 and Grease Seal 10-4
Grease Seal # RG06-050 has an inner diameter of 1.719" and outer diameter of 2.565", you mentioned you have grease seal 10-4 and it has a width of .5" but from my research it looks like a 10-4 seal has an inner diameter of 1.249" and outer diameter of 1.983". I strongly recommend using a digital caliper such as # PTW80157 to measure the seal, as well as your spindle where the seal rides in order to get the correct replacement. If it does have an inner diameter of 1.249" and outer diameter...

  • If Bearing Buddy Overfills Trailer Hub and Blows Out Seal Is it Okay to Still Use
If you blow out a grease seal on a trailer hub by overfilling it with grease using a Bearing Buddy the seal would not still be okay as it would need to be replaced but the Bearing Buddy like the # BB1980A-SS would still be fine. It's very easy to overfill trailer hubs with Bearing Buddies as many have found. If you are in need of a replacement seal let me know the number that's on it or the inner and outer diameter and I can get you set up with a replacement. I also attached a link to...

  • Replacement for Trailer Hub Marked 17002
Hi Blake; 17002 isn't a part number for a hub I have any information on. You will need to either identify it with the axle tag or pull the hub and identify the bearings and bolt pattern to find a replacement. The bearing numbers may be stamped on the side so start by checking there. If they're worn or missing, you will need to measure the inner diameter using a digital caliper # PTW80157. Once you have this information, add it to the comments below and I'll help you find the right part....

  • Bearing Kit Recommendation Using L44649 Inner And Outer Bearings
We do offer bearing kits that have part # L44649 for the inner and outer bearings, but the seal included in the kit does not match the 12194TC seal you said you have. We do have replacement seals that may work just fine for you. I did some research and found that the 12194TC seal you said you have measures 1.250 inside diameter, and 1.979 outside diameter. The seal I recommend is part # 34823. The dimensions listed for this seal are 1.249 inside diameter and 1.983 outside diameter. The...

We often hear of weak customer support and limited spare parts availability with "bargain" trailer manufacturers. I found an online copy of the owner's manual for the Harbor Freight Haulmaster utility trailer model 90154 but it includes no information at all about the bearing or seal part numbers it uses. Often these foreign-made trailers use odd bearings that are not commonly available. If you can, pull a hub and find the part numbers on your bearings and seal. Please refer to the linked...

  • Safe Grease Gun Pressure for Filling Hubs with Grease on EZ Lube Spindles
Care should be taken when loading grease into a hub that is installed on an EZ-Lube spindle. It is very easy to over-fill the hub and apply too much pressure and blow out the grease seals. Even the double-lip seals like # 34823 used with EZ-Lube hubs can be blown out from excess grease pressure. The standard grease guns we offer top out at a maximum pressure of 7000-psi, but many are rated for lower pressure, such as # ALL940798 (4500-psi) and # L30100 (3000-psi) and it's cartridges...

  • Why Would Seals Leak after Installation of Kodiak XL ProLube Kit
I spoke to my contact at Kodiak and he informed me that he sees this problem a few times a week and it's always because the trailer is an EZ loader or a Tinker trailer that actually has 1.683 spindles instead of 1.72 and that is why the seals leak. The only real solution I can provide for you would be to go back to your previous setup or look into replacing your spindles or axles.
