Updated 11/17/2025 | Published 11/05/2025

Question:

I have a knott trailer hub. 11/16straight shaft. Hub in grease seal site is 1.978 or 50.2 mm. Shaft in seal site is 1.238 or 31.40 mm. Need two double lip grease seals.

Hello Duane, thanks for reaching out. Looking thru all our seals, I am not seeing we have an exact match for that, but we do have something similar. The closest thing we have would be the Double Lip Grease Seal # 34823 which is 1.983" OD and 1.249" ID. So very close - within a few hundredths of the specs you listed. Some of the Knott hubs use older seal sizes that are now obsolete, so it might be tough to find an exact match. Our seal is similar enough and inexpensive enough that I feel like its definitely worth a shot.

Thanks for responding. I have had no luck in locating seals either. Will come back to etrailer.com for future needs. Again for trying.

@DuaneG Glad to help! A lot of times when people come to us looking for parts for older trailers like this, the only real solution we can provide is to look at replacing the spindles or replacing the axle entirely with something more standard. I know that might not be what you had in mind though. Feel free to come back anytime you need anything !

Thanks for follow up. Gary Feldman with magic tilt warranty department was kind enough to resolve issue by supplying new hubs. Will still come back to etrailer as needed in future.
