Just what I needed!

Best price Fast shipping

by:

Will solve height problem because of high recever height.

by:

Great price. Product was delivered sooner than expected.

by:

I called before I ordered my extended shank and was given good courteous advice. The price was excellent and the shipping fast, a good company to do business with.

by:

I ordered the e-trailer weight distributing shank due to my truck being lifted and needing a greater drop. It got to my porch in 4 days and fit perfectly as advertised. I have bought products from etrailer before and will continue to do so in the future.

I will recommend etrailer to anyone looking to upgrade, replace or accessorize their vehicles!

by:

Quality construction and accurate description. point of caution when ordering for use with another manufacturer's W/D system:
I ordered this drop-shank to retrofit to another manufacturer's W/D system (Quality S), needing more drop since we bought a different (higher ride height) tow vehicle. The Curt's shank dimensions were slightly different than the old shank's (from the front/back of the drop portion to the head mounting holes). I had to retrofit different parts from the hardware store to make the shank/head work correctly. No issues w/ the shank just a caution when mixing manufacturers, a risk I knew when ordering.

by:

I have a different manufacturer trunnion style equalizer and I was able to make this work with a few spacers because the down tube on the old hitch was 2 1/2" square, not 2". Our new Tahoe has a much higher mounted receiver than our old, and this leveled out our 30' travel trailer perfectly. Hitch was shipped and delivered promptly.

One item to note is that this does extend out a little further than the average shank. Safety chains could be a tight fit if they are a little shorter. May need a chain extension.

by:

This hitch adapted perfectly to my current Husky Center Line weight distribution hitch. Our new Suburban has a higher mounted hitch receiver compared to our old vehicle. This helped level out our 29' travel trailer perfectly after a few adjustments. Hitch was shipped and delivered earlier than expected.

by:

It does what it was designed to do.

When
I bought an Explorer, I could no longer tow my cargo trailer level. Now, once again, I can.

This shank is heavy. It appears to be a solid bar, instead of hollow tubing, like all other hitch components I've owned. It's not a problem, but the weight was a surprise.

by:

Nice quality item, would have been 5 star except the one of the welds could have been cleaned up better. Had to drop hitch due to going from a 1500 to a 2500 HD. Good fit.

by:

HEAVY, strong shank! I just wished I had measured from my hitch to the ground to get an idea of what I needed, first. On my'07 Silverado (GMT-900) with air bags in the rear and stock leafs, the bottom of this thing hovers just 4" off the ground! Less with a load on the flatbed trailer. Drove down a grass hill in my yard and have a nice trench there now. I'm going to have to cut as much off of this as possible. SOLID steel piece, too, so that should be fun.

Ended up buying a 93 Ram W250 Cummins for a tow rig, and now this thing is too short! Had to buy a longer shank.

by:

I needed a 5 3/4 inch drop with my new suburban, This worked perfectly. Site was easy to manage and delivery was prompt!

by:

This shank was just what I needed to attach my Dodge Durango to my Jayco X17Z travel trailer. This item is well made and durable. Thanks E a Trailer.

by:

Received a day early. Great help from tech to purchase proper adjustable shank. Will continue to deal with ETRAILER.

by:

This Shank worked great. It pulled our camper last summer over 5,000 miles on one trip and 250 miles on another. Have had no problems installing the equalizer hitch head from the old shank. Our new car sits high than the old one and we needed to lower the equalizer head 1.25 inches to have the camper sit level for towing.

We still have the Shank but we have a new camper. It rides at a different height and we had to go to a different Shank. We will keep it in case it is needed for something else. We have many trailers here that many need it.

by:

Rock solid shank! This fits my slightly lifted 2008 Ram 1500 perfectly. It is being used on a Reese trunnion bar weight distribution hitch system and I couldn't be more pleased. Also, I had purchased a different shank that was too long and Michelle from etrailer took excellent care of me and got me the right product. I love etrailer!

Excellent service. Needed new hitch shank with more drop. Called on a Sunday afternoon Amy found what I needed,,,had it at my house Tuesday. Nobody’s better…..Thanks

The Curt Weight Distribution system solved most of the trailer sway for us. Unfortunately, we needed to purchase a second shank to get the trailer level even after specking our purchase for a 3500HD Chevrolet Silverado. Seems like we should have gotten this shank with our kit.

Proper shank height is determined by hitch height on the tow vehicle and coupler height on the trailer. Hitch height is not the same on every single Silverado 3500HD of a given year. The only way to know what shank will be adequate is to measure the hitch height of your specific truck on level ground. Then do the same for the trailer coupler.

This weight distributing hitch shank was just the item I needed to drop my hitch ball head, and level my travel trailer, after buying a new tow vehicle. Great selection, informative web site, good price, and fast delivery. Thanks etrailer !

by:

Part is just what I needed. Upgraded my tow vehicle and the new hitch is 2 inches higher. My WDH did not have room to go lower and this solved the problem. Thank you E-Trailer.

Been using the hitch for the past year. No problems to report.

by:

We bought this to help level our towing set up and it works perfectly. We have a local trailer shop who transferred the WDH to this extension for free and it's awesome. The very sturdy construction and shear weight of this leaves no doubt in my mind that it is going to last us at least as long as our truck lasts. Then, if our new vehicle needs the tow ball at a different height, we've got it covered. The shipping was quick and it all worked as advertised. Thanks, etrailer! PS. Do NOT kick this with your big toe while it sits on your garage floor. It WILL hurt.

by:

High quality and perfect for the new height of the trailer after I flipped the axles to get better ground clearance.

A perfect fit! Will do the job. Outstanding service from Angela, thank you

by:

This is a solid steel link and it worked out well allowing for better trailer tung /ball alignment. The 45 degree reinforcing plate does extend the hitch out a couple of inches or so farther then normal but in using a weight distribution hitch I haven’t noticed any issues other than making it easier to step through.
The only improvement might be a longer extension of the square stock beyond the pin hole to reduce side to side movement

  • Choosing Between A Fastway Weight Distribution System With Round Bars Or Trunnion Bars
One of the major differences between a round bar system and a Trunnion bar system is if ground clearance is an issue, you may be better off choosing a Trunnion-bar system simply because these bars slide into the weight distribution head instead of inserting into it from the bottom, thus maintaining a more streamline system. The round-style spring bars slide up into the head and are held in place with clips. The round bar on # FA94-00-0600 extends about 2-1/2 inches below the weight distribution...

  • Recommended Extended Ball Mount or Hitch Extender for Towing Boat Trailer
For your 2018 Tahoe and boat trailer needing a longer extension between them I recommend the Brophy Ball Mount for 2" Hitch - 3/4" Rise, 2" Drop - 13-1/4" Long - 10,000 lbs # BM20. Having a longer ball mount like this will not reduce the capacity of your hitch at all. This will give you a length of 13-1/4 inches from the center of the ball to the hitch pin hole. For a compatible hitch ball the shank needs to be 1 inch diameter for this mount. I recommend the 2 inch ball # 40038 or...

This shank has a 15,000-lb weight capacity and this shank has an overall height of 10-inches. I have attached a photo of this shank with the dimensions shown you can check out. • Best Weight Distribution Hitch for 9,000 lb Travel Trailer
We have exactly what you need for a weight distribution hitch for your Jayco Jay Flight, which according to my research has a GVWR of 9,000 lbs. Based on that, because the ideal system would be one in which your loaded tongue weight falls somewhere in the middle of the weight distribution system's tongue weight capacity, the best option is from Curt: - Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System with Sway Control # C17501 This system is rated for loaded tongue weights between 1,000 lbs and...

  • Correct Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System for 8,000 Lb Trailer
The correct Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System will be based on tongue weight, not necessarily gross trailer weight. That said, the average tongue weight will be around 10-15% of the trailer weight so we can estimate the tongue weight to be between 800 - 1,200 lbs. The part # C17500 which is rated for 1,000 lbs will put you right in the middle so this is what I recommend.

  • Recommended Weight Distribution System for a 10,000 lbs Travel Trailer
Yes, I would recommend using a weight distribution hitch with sway control. I am a big fan of Equalizer for their reliability, ease of use, and affordability. It looks like your 2022 E2W Alta 2810KIK TT tops out at 9,597 lbs when fully loaded. Weight distribution systems are recommended based off of tongue weight which is typically between 10% - 15% of your trailer's total weight. Which would put yours between 960 lbs - 1,440 lbs. I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution w/ 4-Point...

  • What is Max Drop with Curt Short Arm Weight Distribution System
Yes, the max drop of the Curt Short Arm part # C17333 is only 1/2 inch due to the head design. For a shank that you could use with this system that would allow a 3 inch drop you would want the Curt # 17120 which can do a drop of up to 5 inches. • Is Fastway Weight Distribution Compatible With Curt Shank 17120
To answer your first question, the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution # FA92-00-0600 is compatible with the Curt Weight Distribution Shank # 17120. As for being level, it is important to ensure your rig handles correctly; being unlevel will make it quite a bit more difficult to handle your tow vehicle. You do have some leeway, but not four inches. What you want to be is within about an inch or inch and a half of perfectly level.
