Question:
Wondering if this can be used with a weight distributing setup. Trailer is an Airstream Nest approx 375 lb tongue weight and 4K pound trailer weight. Currently have a Reese setup. Am trying to reduce hitch weight. Going on to a 24 Tacoma TRD Sport. Thanks

Hey Dan. I checked with Gen-Y and their Phantom Hitch Ball Mount item # GY37WR can not be used with a weight distribution system. The Gen-Y Torsion 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers item # 325-GH-1024 does have the ability to be used with a weight distribution system. However, neither of this ball mounts are going to reduce your tongue weight because you'll still have to use the shank on your Reese system.
If you're needing some additional drop because your Tacoma's hitch sits higher than your original tow vehicle, I recommend the Curt Weight Distribution Shank item # 17120. This shank fits a 2" hitch, is compatible with Reese systems, and has a 5-3/4" or 6-1/8" Drop depending on what type of system you have. It weighs 25 lbs.
Please note that as far as tongue or hitch weight goes, the weight distribution system and it's components do not count towards that weight.
