Compatible Shank Options for a Reese Pro Series Weight Distribution System

Hi John, great question. Yes, we do have weight distribution shanks with more drop that will work with your Reese Pro Series weight distribution system. If you only need another 2 or 3 inches of drop, I would start with the Curt Weight Distribution Shank, part # 17120. The Curt # 17120 measures 10-3/4 inches tall and 14 inches long. It is compatible with your system and can provide up to 6 1/8 inches of drop with a round bar weight distribution setup.

If you find that you need significantly more drop, the Curt Weight Distribution Shank, part # C17125, is another compatible option and provides up to 16-1/4 inches of drop. This one measures 12" long and 20-3/4" tall.

I am not familiar with an etrailer cushioned shank that would work with your weight distribution system. Convert-A-Ball does make a cushioned weight distribution shank, but I do not think it would provide the length you are looking for, and I cannot promise it would be compatible with your Pro Series system without confirming the fit. I would feel much better recommending one of the standard weight distribution shanks that we know will work with your hitch.

Before choosing one, I would recommend measuring from the ground to the top of your hitch receiver opening and then from the ground to the bottom of your trailer coupler while the trailer is sitting level. The difference between those two measurements will tell you how much drop you need. Do you know how much lower your trailer coupler sits compared with the top of your Armada's hitch receiver?

Do you have a locking hitch pin to recommend? Mine always seems to be bent after pulling my travel trailor

@JonC Sure, etrailer Hitch Receiver Lock part # e98881 is a good option for that. Your travel trailer must be pretty heavy. Do you still experience a lot of sway with the pro-series?
