Video Transcript for Fastway Weight Distribution FA92-02-4100 Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Fastway E2 Weight Distribution Shank. This is designed for use with Fastway E2 weight distribution systems. It replaces the shank that comes with all E2 weight distribution systems. This is going to provide both drop and rise so you can use the unit in either position. It's constructed of a really nice steel construction. Very sturdy and strong, and it's going to have a powder coated finish on it, so it's going to do a great job at resisting rust and corrosion and lasting a long time. This is designed to fit into a 2" X 2" trailer hitch receiver.

When it comes to the towing capacity, it's going to be all the way to 1200 pounds. Again it's designed to be used with all E2 weight distribution systems. A few measurements to go over with real quick. Starting with the overall length, so measuring from very back to very front, it's going to give us a measurement of right on 12 inches. Now if you're using this in the rise position, that would be this position here, and if you have your head assembly at the highest setting with the round bar system, it's going to give you a maximum rise of 5-3/4 inches, and with a trunnion bar system it's going to give you a maximum rise of 6-1/4 inches, that's measuring from the inside top edge of the receiver tube of your hitch or the top of the shank right here, to the top of the ball platform. If you're using this in the drop position, doing those same measurements with a round bar system, it's going to give you a maximum drop of 2-1/4 inches with the head assembly at the lowest setting, and with a trunnion bar system it's going to give you a maximum drop of 1/2 inch. The unit does feature six adjustment holes. One, two, three, four, five, six.

These holes are going to be separated apart from one another on center by an inch and a quarter, so that's going to be the incremental height adjustment as the same separation between each hole. If we take a measurement from the center of the hitch pinhole, that's this hole right here, to the center of the adjustment holes, that's going to give us a measurement of right on 8 inches, to the back of the shank is 7 inches, to the front is 9 inches. Again, overall length 12 inches, and then from the center of the hitch pinhole to the closest point, you have this support bar right here, but at the base is a weld, so if you measure to the closest point of that weld, it's going to be right on 3 inches. That's going to do it for today's look at the Fastway E2 Weight Distribution Shank.

  • Weight Distribution Shank Recommendation for Fastway System to Fit 2-1/2 inch Hitch
Yes, because all of the weight distribution companies make their heads to fit the same shank dimensions you can use a different brand shank with your system. For that we have the Eqaul-i-zer shank part # EQ90-02-4900 which fits the 2-1/2 inch hitch size you have, provides up to a 6 inch drop, and works with your Fastway kit. Oddly enough this shank is made by same company as who makes Fastway since Equal-i-zer makes both brands. I attached a review video for this for you to check out too.

  • Correct Shank for 7" Drop with Fastway e2 Weight Distribution Round Bar System
Even though your weight distribution (WD) shank (I believe is part # FA92-02-4100) has about a 7" drop, since drop/rise is measured to the trailer coupler (the ball mount platform basically) this means that the max drop of a WD shank won't equal the max rise of the shank when it is inverted due to head assembly installing with 2 bolts. To achieve a true 7" max drop you would have to disregard the bottom bolt for the head unit and only use the top bolt hole of the head unit # FA94-00-1033...

  • Recommended Longer Weight Distribution Shank To Allow Door Clearance On 2016 Ford Transit
I recommend the Curt weight Distribution Shank, part # C17122. This shank measures 18 inches overall and 14-inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the attachment holes for the head. This shank has a 15,000-lb weight capacity and this shank has an overall height of 10-inches. I have attached a photo of this shank with the dimensions shown you can check out. Another shank you may want to check out is the Curt # 17120. This shank has a 15,000-lb weight capacity and measures...

  • Weight Distribution Shank Recommendation for 10 inches of Drop
I have a solution for you, you would want the Curt Weight Distribution Shank part # C17125. This can do a minimum drop of 11 inches which is the closest we offer to your 10 inches of drop.

  • Carrying A Golf Cart In A 2018 Nissan Titan XD Diesel And Towing A 2020 Forest River Grey Wolf 29TE
Per the Nissan Titan brochure for 2018, the Nissan Titan XD Diesel 4x4 crew cab has a 2,080lb maximum payload. Golf carts are about 1,000lbs usually and are typically right at 8 feet in length. If your truck bed is 8 feet you will have most likely right at 30 percent of the golf cart's weight as 300lbs of additional tongue weight. To determine if your golf cart is pushing you over the limits use the GCWR of your Titan (can be found on the sticker on your driver's side door jamb), subtract...

  • Dimension Of Fastway e2 Weight Distribution Shank
The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the adjustment holes on the vertical part of part # FA92-02-4100 is 8 inches. I have attached a photo of the shank with the dimensions noted. The # FA92-02-4100 shank would offer the shortest distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the adjustment holes. It is rated for 1,200-lbs tongue weight has features 6-3/8 inches rise to 1-5/8 inch drop.

  • Adding a Second Weight Distribution Head and Shank for a Fastway Weight Distribution System
Yes, we do have a head only that will work great for you. It is the replacement Fastway e2 head # FA92-02-1255 for 6K to 12K rated systems or # FA92-02-0410 for the 4.5K system. This head is the exact same as the ones that come in the full kits. You would have to use a Fastway head in order to use the Fastway spring bars. Another brand head will not work. You will also need replacement hardware kit # FA92-02-9600 since the above heads do not include this hardware. For a second shank...

  • Will Curt Weight Distribution Shank Work with Fastway E2 Weight Distribution System FA92-02-4100
Yes, the Curt weight distribution shank part # 17120 is a fit with the Fastway E2 WD system part # FA92-02-4100 that you referenced. Thankfully nearly all of the weight distribution system manufacturers made their head and shank dimensions similar.

  • Fastway Weight Distribution for a V-Nose Trailer with Limited Space on Frame
With a trailer weighing 3,820 pounds the tongue weight will be in the neighborhood of 380 to 573 pounds which is 10 to 15 percent of the gross trailer weight. But to that you also need to add in the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. So for example if you had 100 pounds of gear behind the tow vehicle rear axle that would make the tongue weight 480 to 673 pounds. The minimum tongue weight for the Fastway system, # FA94-00-1033, to be effective is 400 pounds....

  • What is the Weight Capacity of the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System without Spring Bars
When using the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System part # FA92-00-0600 without the spring bars attached you would want to defer to its weakest component to determine its weight capacity. The head part # FA92-02-1255 and shank part # FA92-02-4100 are both rated at 12,000 lbs gross trailer weight (GTW) and 1,200 lbs tongue weight (TW). However, the hitch ball part # EQ91-00-6080 for 2" is rated at 8,000 lbs gross trailer weight (GTW) and 800 lbs tongue weight (TW) whereas the hitch ball...

  • Is my 12,000 lb EAZ Lift Weight Distribution System Overrated For my 4600 lb Trailer
I researched the EAZ lift 12,000 lb weight distribution system and the tongue weight rating range is between 1,001 to 1,200 lbs. The tongue weight of your trailer rated for 4600 lb will not be 1001 lbs even when loaded. This could cause a stiff or rough ride with the lighter trailer if you use the EAZ lift weight distribution because the tension in the spring bars is designed for a heavier trailer. I recommend getting a lower rated weight distribution for the 4600 lb trailer such as...

  • Troubleshooting Weight Distribution Shank Option to Replace Odd Size
I haven't heard of any weight distribution system with a 1-3/4 inch shank and there isn't an adapter. If the shank at the end where the head attaches will accept a 2 inch width and has the standard 1-1/4 inch on center adjustment increments then a replacement shank is an option, but if not you have an anchor or you will require a custom fabricated shank. My recommendation for a replacement shank is the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution Shank - 12" Long - 6" Rise, 1/2" Drop - 1,200 lbs...
