Great service, nice/knowledgeable people, and very good price. Thank you.

The longer shank arrived a day early and it was in great condition. I attached the head to it this morning without a hitch (that was an attempt at humor). I will be setting up the weight distribution and trailer alignment in a few day.

Thank you for the great service on both the equalizer hitch I purchased a few weeks ago and the longer shank that I need to set up our 21 foot Escape with the Jeep Grand Cherokee.

by:

Worked as advertised. Tested it the next day with 13750 lbs.

by:

Got this for my Tacoma to link up to a 7x14’ Vnose trailer. Needed the extra drop for the Equalizer hitch.

by:

Excellent service and products, quick shipping; I come to etrailer originally for trailer jacks, and then bought the Equalizer anti sway trailer system which is heavy duty, well-made, and also came quickly. Very happy with the knowledgeable staff!

by:

Works as advertised, and mated up nicely with my Husky Center Line weight distribution system.

by:

Great technical knowledge and follow up.

by:

Thanks you for the high quality hitch shank. It fit perfect and was exactly what I need. But most all was the the extremely fast S/H. Thanks. Will be shopping again. Thanks

by:

By far one of the best customer service experiences EVER!! We recommend etrailer hands down!

by:

These folks have their act together. Great measurements and instructions for everything they sell. Fast shipping too.

by:

Bought along with Equalizer hitch. Arrived packaged with the hitch. Measure the coupler height before you order. Our couple is 31" high so standard shank will not work. Knowing that in advance saves money and hassle. Great customer service.

by:

As advertised.

My Tahoe hatch would hit my RV jack when opening. Adding this shank made it open completely, without hitting. One thing to remember is to check your safety chains length. To insure they reach to connect to you tow hitch.

by:

Works perfectly!. Solved our turning radius problem between our trailer A-Frame mounted bike rack (Lippert Jack-It 2) and the canopy on our P/U.

by:

My experience with etrailer was wonderful! I have an equalizer hitch and switched vehicles and the shank I had would not work. I went on the web site and used the the tool to figure out what shank I needed, ordered it and received it on time as promised! The company sent me a verification email of my order and I had no problem tracking it. Very professional company!

by:

I have a GMC 2500 HD with a 6 inch lift and 35 inch tires. I bought a used travel trailer that came with an equalizer hitch and the drop on the shank was not nearly long enough. I took the required measurements and called E trailer, Kimberly took my measurements and determined which shank I needed. It worked perfectly. Thank you Kimberly D and E trailer

by:

Item arrived as advertised and well packaged. I should have orders a longer one though, but that was my fault for not running a tape measure properly.... :)

by:

This will definitely allow you to open the tailgate on your truck with the trailer attached. It will also increase your effective tongue weight by 60% and make any breeze pull your truck around like a matchbox car. I used it once then went back to a standard shank. I’d rather disconnect my trailer than get pulled off the road.

  • Recommendation For Reducing Rear End Sag On Lifted 2017 Ram 1500 When Towing a Travel Trailer
The best way to help reduce sag when towing your travel trailer with your 2017 Ram 1500 Bighorn having a lift is with a weight distribution hitch. Personally I fee the Equal-i-zer hitch systems are the best option as they are made in the USA and have a reputation as being one of the best available. You do need to select the correct system based on the weight of your trailer. 200-600lbs Tongue Weight, Trailer Up to 6,000lbs # EQ37060ET 600-1,000lbs Tongue Weight, Trailer Up to 10,000lbs...

  • How to Determine Correct Shank For Weight Distribution Hitch
To determine the correct shank for your weight distribution hitch, you need to find the rise or drop you need, just like with a standard ball mount. This is only two measurements - first, measure from the ground to the top of your hitch receiver opening. Then measure from the ground to the bottom of your trailer coupler. If your hitch height is greater, you'll need a shank with that amount of drop; if your coupler height is greater, use shank with that amount of rise. For example, let's...

  • Does Equal-I-Zer Shank Work with Fastway E2 Weight Distribution System
Yes the Equal-i-zer weight distribution shanks are compatible with the Fastway e2 weight distribution heads. Thankfully nearly all weight distribution system manufacturers make their heads to fit the same shank dimensions. I'd say the tongue weight of your trailer when loaded would work great with the Fastway e2 kit part # FA94-00-1000 that you have as this has a TW range of 600-1,000 lbs. When your trailer is loaded it's tongue weight is most likely going to be over 600 lbs which would...

We do appreciate the kind words! You typically want the tongue weight of your trailer to fall towards the middle of the range of your weight distribution hitch's prescribed range. Your trailer with a 1038-lbs tongue weight dry could get up to 1100-lbs or more once you load everything into the trailer, so I think going up to the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution w/ 4-Point Sway Control - No Shank - 14,000 lbs GTW, 1,400 lbs TW # EQ37141ET is the best solution. • Recommended Shank for Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System with More Drop
It sounds like you need a weight distribution system shank with more drop for your now taller tow vehicle and if that's the case we have some great options for you. Thankfully, the shanks are for the most part universal so you don't have to worry about brand. In order to make sure you get the correct shank the first time I do recommend measuring. The two measurements you'll need to take are from the ground to the top inside edge of the trailer hitch on the vehicle and then from the ground...
