Question:
I did some re-measuring and the distance from the ground to bottom of coupler is 25.5 inches and from ground to to of hitch is still 19, so I’m not sure if I would need a different shank or not. Also I would like to know if they make something in the equalizer brand that would work

We have exactly what you need for a weight distribution hitch for your Jayco Jay Flight, which according to my research has a GVWR of 9,000 lbs. Based on that, because the ideal system would be one in which your loaded tongue weight falls somewhere in the middle of the weight distribution system's tongue weight capacity, the best option is from Curt:
- Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System with Sway Control # C17501
This system is rated for loaded tongue weights between 1,000 lbs and 1,500 lbs, is easy to use compared to other systems, and gives you outstanding overall sway control to make your towing experience much more pleasant and safe.
The TruTrack uses four points of sway control which ensures you have the most controlled ride, uses brackets that clamp onto your trailer frame for simple install, especially compared to systems that use chains, and it even comes with a hitch ball, something that many systems require you to purchase separately. Overall, there isn't a better value for a weight distribution hitch for you than the Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System with Sway Control # C17501.
The only thing you will need is a different shank, since the one that comes with this system has a maximum rise of 5-1/2 inches. Since you need a 10 inch rise, the correct shank for this system is the Curt Weight Distribution Shank # 17120.
I have added some links below to video reviews for you to check out as well if you'd like.
