This red GloLight stands out with its unique halo ring that serves as a tail light, while the center LEDs handle brake and turn signals. Both sections brighten for braking, giving clear and crisp illumination that’s easy to see from a distance, day or night. The light uses 22 white LEDs behind a red lens, drawing only 0.295 amps for the tail light and 0.59 amps for stop and turn at 12.8 volts. It’s more efficient and durable than old incandescent bulbs, so it keeps shining strong without using much power.
Designed for use in wet or harsh conditions, this light is completely waterproof. Its sealed housing keeps out moisture so you can rely on it even when your trailer goes in and out of the water. The polycarbonate housing and acrylic lens add toughness without adding weight, making it a dependable choice for long-term exposure to rain, spray, or full submersion.
Mounting this light looks sharp and stays protected. It’s designed for a recessed setup using the A70GB grommet (sold separately), which helps seal the edges and gives a flush finish. If your trailer doesn’t have an existing cutout, you can use the BK70BB mounting bracket (sold separately) instead. The 6-7/16" width and 2-5/16" height make it an easy fit for standard oval openings, while keeping a low profile at just 15/16" thick.
This GloLight’s wiring connection is built to keep moisture out. The weathertight plug design shields your wiring from corrosion and water intrusion for consistent performance over time. To connect to your system, it uses an adapter (AL45PWTB – sold separately) that works with standard 3-prong plugs, and you can choose either a right-angle pigtail (A47PB – sold separately) or straight pigtail (A45PB – sold separately).

Every detail of this light meets DOT, FMVSS 108, and CMVSS standards so you know it’s built for real-world use and road safety. With a lifetime warranty on its LEDs, you get long-term reliability without worrying about bulb replacements or fading performance over time.

Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Optronics GloLight LED Trailer Tail Light, part number STL111RMB. Here on the back of our trailer, you can see the comparison between our old incandescent bulb on the right hand side, and our new Optronics LED light on the left. It features 22 DOT approved LED lights, and because it's LED, it's going to be more efficient, and there are no bulbs to replace. It's a 6.5 inch oval light that serves three functions. You have your brakes, and then your turn signal, and then your tail lights. As you can see, when you're running your tail lights, you have the halo effect.
When the brakes are applied, everything lights up. It features a sonically sealed waterproof housing, and fits flush with a grommet, which is not included. The grommet we recommend is part number A70GB. It comes in a quantity of one, so if you're looking to replace both tail lights, which is what we recommend, you'll need to pick up a second one. Now I'll go ahead and show you how we got it installed. First, let's go ahead and start by removing our old, incandescent bulb. You can simply use a flat head screwdriver, or you can just pry it out by hand, whichever works for you.
Also, if you're not replacing the grommet, you're going to want to leave that in place. So let's pry it out. Now, with the light out, let's go ahead and disconnect this. We're just going to take two fingers here, and just kind of work it off. Now, you'll notice that our trailer here has come with a standard molded 3 volt connection here, so in order to get it to work with our new Optronics light, we're going to use an adapter.
If you have to as well, you can use part number AL45PWTB. What that's going to do, it's just going to simply plug into our old connection, and convert it to the new connection. We'll just line it up and plug it in. Press firmly to do so. Once we've got it, we can then grab our new light. It's going to come pre-greased.
We'll line it up to where the tab clips over, and once it snaps in, we've got it. Just like that. Let's test our brake first. Good, that works. Now, let's go ahead and try the turn signal. Great. Then finally, our tail light. Perfect. Now we've got it. Now that we know that everything works, we'll just simply bundle up everything and put it in place. Perfect. If anything we're to ever happen to the LEDs, they feature a lifetime warranty. That's going to complete our look at the Optronics GloLight LED Trailer Tail Light, part number STL111RMB.
Ratings & Reviews
These are some pretty sweet lights. Very bright and attention getting. I am constantly getting compliments on them.
The High Points-
- I bought the standard 3 prong style, works just fine with a Truck-Lite plug and with a no name one I had lying around.
- When not using driving lights both the outer and inner lights flash for turn signal. Don't remember reading about that, but it's pretty sweet(at least for the people behind me!).
- All 4 arrived in excellent shape and with all lights working.
Now, for the only negative that I can come up with-
- 2 of the lights have what I think is a sliver of white plastic stuck between the outer circle and the cover. I'm guessing it's from pressing the halves together. They can't be seen until you're very close to them, but for a $28 light it's a bit disappointing for that to get past QA.
Regardless, I highly recommend these, they are very distinctive and so far I haven't seen anyone else with them. Can't wait to be able to afford 4 more!
These lights were added to my cargo trailer that I pull behind my motorcycle. These help to make sure that people see me when I am on the road. The lights were easy to install with the grommets and pigtails that I ordered at the same time. All the products worked together well and made the project easy to do. Love these lights and will buy more if needed.
Upgrading our 1998 Coleman Grandview, the old incandescent just seemed too dim.
Nice light, only suggestion would be to list some wiring options, was a bit confusing going from the old Bargman to the new LED.
But I read through the Bargman page here and got squared away.
Pic is LED before anchoring compared to the stock on the right. BIG improvement.
Light was exactly what I needed. Came out of the box in excellent condition with grease on the connectors for easy install and water protection. Replaced my burned out light and it worked perfectly.
I upgraded the tail lights in addition to the back up lights. The old lights were incandescent bulbs and weren't really that bright. These new LED tail/brake/turn signal lights are much brighter so hopefully folks behind me will have an easier time figuring out what I'm trying to do while going down the road. Make sure you order the right pigtail connector when ordering the light! I failed to do that which slowed this project down by a few days.
These lights are exactly what I needed to fix my Mastertow dolly. Shipping was fast and the parts had the exact connectors and mounting screws to match.
I like these lights. They appear to be bright in the daylight. Can't ask for me. My trailer is from 1997 and they just plugged into the existing wiring.
Awesome product and quality. Stand out with these lights.
Badass bright lights
Love them
The lights are very bright and the “halo” is a good addition for rear visibility on the rock trailers.
Very cool lights and super easy to install. Very bright!
Nice bright lights, good price, would recommend to anyone looking to replace there old style with a led light
Install the new glow lights right when I received your package in the mail. It was easy to install all four lights in less than thirty minutes. They look great when on. Now I need to do my marker lights so they all match. Thanks.
Love these lights! Bright and look grea t!
Love these lights!!! used on my side x side to upgrade.Highly recommend!!!
I love these lights. They have the 3 pin weather tight connectors which are a plug-in-simple replacement for the OEM taillights I’m replacing. etrailer is one of the few online retailers that keeps these in stock. I would advise however, if your factory wiring isn’t in perfect condition then I would skip these and change out the factory pigtails to the standard 3 prong type and buy item #STL111RB instead. They are cheaper and easier to find while out on the road should one ever fail.
