• Replacement LED Tail Light for Triton Boat Trailer Part # 08478
  I was able to pull up some information on the Triton 08478 light that you mentioned and it appears that the LED Trailer Tail Light w/ Flange - Stop, Turn, Tail - Submersible - 6 Diodes - Oval - Red Lens # STL73RB is the same part. I've linked a photo with the dimensions of this light, but it is also an oval LED light with 3 wires like the 08478, so it should do the job for you. • How Does Taillight Ring # A78RXB Get Removed
  To remove the ring # A78RXB you basically would want to grab one side of the ring and gently pry up on the ring till it releases from the mounting flange. If it does not want to remove this way you can use a thin slot screwdriver and slide it down into the slots on the sides of the light. This will allow you to push on the hooks of the ring so that they will release from the light. See picture to see where to insert the screwdriver.

  I have a solution for you but we do not carry the TecNiq T16. I recommend the Optronics Thinline LED Trailer Tail Light - Stop, Tail, Turn - Submersible - 15 Diodes - Red Lens item # STL64RB. The sonically sealed, waterproof housing and lens unit is submersible. This light has identical dimensions at 20-1/2" long x 1" tall. It has the same three functions with brake, tail, and turn. The Optrionics is a better light with 15 LEDs over the TecNiq T16 13.

There are no other parts needed as the tail lights on your tow vehicle will control the flash rate. The lights will work with your older truck just like newer vehicles. The only exception is some Mercedes, Audi and other vehicles which have trailer lamp detectors built in which would confuse LED lights with a bulb being out. Those vehicles would need a Lamp-Out Sensor Bypass Adapter # 20142.

Trailer manufacturers just aren't that specific with their online literature. Looking at pictures of these trailer online, the tail lights appear to be an oval recessed mount light like part # TLL12RK. This is due to tail lights needing to be red to be in accordance with laws here in the USA.
