Upgrading from old bulbs to LEDs makes a big difference in brightness and power draw. This 6-1/2" oval red light uses 6 LEDs that glow for tail light, brighten for brakes, and flash for turn signals. At 12.8V, it only draws 0.161 amps on stop/turn and 0.007 amps on tail, so it’s brighter while using far less power than incandescent lights. The LEDs are built to last, backed by a lifetime warranty, so you don’t have to worry about changing bulbs again.
Moisture and road spray can ruin ordinary lights, but this one’s sealed tight. The lens and housing are made of durable polycarbonate and completely waterproof, making it ideal even for boat trailers that get dunked at the ramp. Once it’s installed, you can count on it to stay dry inside and keep shining no matter the conditions.
Wiring is where many lights fail, but this design takes care of that too. The light uses a weathertight connector that blocks out moisture and keeps the wiring sealed. You can hardwire it with a pigtail harness (A45PMB - sold separately) or use an adapter (AL45PWTB - sold separately) if you’re using a 3-prong system. Either way, the connection stays protected and reliable over time.
Whether you’re replacing an existing light or starting fresh, mounting is simple. It installs in a grommet (A70GB - sold separately) for a recessed fit that looks clean and stays out of harm’s way. If you’d rather not cut a hole, an optional bracket (BK70BB - sold separately) makes it easy to mount on the surface. The 6-1/2" x 2-1/4" size fits a standard oval cutout, so it’s a direct fit for most setups.

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Optronics LED trailer light. The oval trailer light is going to serve three functions such as your stop light, tail light and turn signal light. It's going to feature a nice sonicly sealed waterproof design so that unit can be submersed. It's got a nice submersible design which would make it ideal for boat trailers or anything that's really exposed to a lot of moisture. It's a full LED system. LED's are going to make great replacements for incandescent lights, they last much longer, they burn brighter, their more efficient. You don't have to worry about replacing bulbs and you don't have to worry about brittle filaments.
When it comes to the construction of the light we are looking at a poly carbonate lens and housing. A nice red lens and then we have the white housing. It is designed to be a recess mount installation with a mounting grommet. Your mounting grommet sold separately. If you are in need of one you can find them here at etrailer dot com. Then the connection point here at the back of the light, this is a weather tight connection point.
We offer an adapter that can be used to make this work with a standard three prong plug. We also offer a weather tight plug that has exposed wire ends for a hard wiring option. Both options are available here at etrailer dot com if you are in need of that plug. The unit is Department of Transportation compliant and meets FMVSS 108 and CMVSS 108 requirements for automotive lighting. We are going to take a look at some of the dimensions real quick and then we'll plug it into our power source and show you what it looks like with the lights turned off. The overall length is going to measure about six and a half inches long.
The overall height that's going to give us a measurement of about two and one quarter inches. The depth including the plug, front to back we are looking at one and three quarters of an inch. Just the lens portion that's going to measure about five eighths of an inch. From the front to this point right here is about one inch deep. Again it's going to contain six LED's or six diode's.
The power drill for the stop and turn signal is 0.161 amps at 12.8 volts for the taillight it's 0.0077 amps at 12.8 volts and Optronics is going to put a lifetime warranty on the LEDs. We are going to go ahead and hook it up to our actual power source that way you can see what it looks like with powering to it. I'm using the adapter to work with a three prong plug. The adapter plugs in right there, again this is available on our website if needed. The weather tight plug, plugs directly into the back of the housing and it's got the little nib on the back there, that way it makes for a nice, tight, secure connection. This is going to be the taillight function of the light. The running light function. Again it sends out a really nice, strong, consistent signal. When we apply our brakes you can see how that illuminates, sends out a stronger signal output. It's going to do that same thing when we activate our turn signals. That's going to do it for today's look at the Optronics LED trailer light.

Identical size, shape & function to the original taillight on a 2-yo Master Tow dolly. Replacement taillight from the mfg didn’t fit the original taillight bezel. This one is an exact fit.

I have not hooked it up to power, but I'm sure it will work. THe only disappointment I had was the light I removed had a rubber pad to help seal the screw holes and wire entry to the back of my trailer to keep moisture out. This light does not have that and it is not available from your company.
Exact replacements for my old tail lights.Fit perfectly. They also solved the issue. Tho old tail lights were allowing the blinker current to back track through the clearance lights. One of tail lights had water in it and when it flashed the clearance lights flashed too.
While I've not yet installed these they look like good replacements for the OEM lights. They are the correct style, size and the screw hole placement seems to be correct. My only reason for giving them an average rating is that they don't come with any gaskets. The original lights have a gasket between the back of the light and the wall of the camper. While the light unit itself is sealed the wires come through a hole in the camper wall and without a gasket the possibility of leaks is there. I will likely buy some gasket material from an auto parts store and make my own. No, I don't think the camper sealant will work as well as a rubber gasket.

They fit the trailer nice but I had to chase down pigtails for them I would rather pay a little more and they be included, might have been an option. They are bright and look nice.
