Specs:
This light has an industry-standard PL-3 connection as pictured above. The light accepts a 3-prong plug (sold separately).
Recessed-mount trailer lights install with a grommet, which is often sold separately. These lights extend past the trailer surface and require a hole for installation. If replacing a light, you can utilize the pre-existing hole. If installing a new light, you will need to cut a hole or use a mounting bracket (sold separately) to complete the installation.

Today we're taking a look at the Peterson LumenX LED Trailer Tail Light and this is an oval trailer tail light that serves your trailer three functions. With this you'll get a turn signal light, a tail light, and a brake light, all built into one unit. It features durable surface-mount technology when it comes to the construction of the LED circuit board. That design better withstand shock and vibration and allows for improved heat distribution and an overall thinner construction. Now it is an LED light. LEDs make great replacement for incandescent lights, they last longer, burn brighter, and they're more efficient. With LEDs you don't have to worry about replacing bulbs and you don't have to worry about brittle filaments.
It is a recessed mount installation with a grommet that mounts in a hole with a grommet and a pig tail wiring harness. Those items are sold separately and available at etrailer.com. You can mount this in any 360 degree position. Here on the back you'll notice the port for a 3-prong plugs so it accepts an industry standard 3-prong plugs which again your grommet and plug are sold separately. It is Department of Transportation compliant. It meets FMVSS 108 requirements for automotive lighting.
Parts are made in USA. Taking a look at the overall dimension real quick and I'll hook up the power so you can see what it looks like with some power running to it.Edge to edge going this direction is about six and a half inches long. Edge to edge going this direction is about two and one quarter inches. And then the depth of the unit just measuring that lens, that red portion, is about a half inch. Front to back of the housing measures about seven eight of an inch deep.
And the overall depth from the very front to the back of the port right here for the plug is about one seven sixteenth inches deep.It contains a total of seven LEDs or seven diodes. The input voltage is nine volt to 16 volt DC. We're gonna go and hook it up to power that we can see what it looks like with power running to it. We'll also turn off overhead lights so you can see it in a low light setting. So here you can see it sends out a really nice, clear, consistent signal. This is the tail light function of the unit.
When we apply the brakes, you can see how that signal output increases, and it'll do that same thing when we activate our turn signals.Again, seven diodes so the multi diode design really helps optimize the overall light output. Parts are made in USA and LEDs have limited lifetime warranty on them. That's gonna do it for today's look at the Peterson LumenX LED Trailer Tail Light.
