Thank you for your purchase from etrailer.com! The Optronics Sealed, 6-1/2 Inch Oval LED Trailer Stop, Turn, and Taillight # STL78RB that you purchased will need to be hardwire installed on your trailer.
You will want to connect the light to your trailer's wiring by function. You can use a circuit tester, like # PTW2993, to determine the functions of your trailer wiring. The white wire on the light will need to be grounded. I recommend running the light ground back to the main trailer ground. The red wire on the light will need to connect to the turn signal and brake light wire on your trailer. The black wire on the light will connect to the running light wire on your trailer. The light will connect to your trailer's wiring with butt connectors, like # 05731-5.
The # STL78RB light is a flange mount light with 4 mounting holes in the center of each side, spaced 7 inches apart lengthwise and 2-3/4 inches apart widthwise. I have attached a photo showing these mounting dimensions for you. I have linked a video showing the installation of this light on an enclosed trailer for you.
I also noticed that you purchased the Trailer Light Mounting Bracket # BK70BB, the PVC Grommet for 6-1/2 Inch Oval Trailer Taillights # A70GB, and the 3-Wire Pigtail # A45PB. These components are not necessary to install the # STL78RB light, but are needed when installing a light like the Optronics Trailer Taillight # STL72RB. This light is a recessed mount light that installs using a grommet. I have also linked an installation video of this trailer light for you.
