pins are loose fit, and move around when and attempt is made to insert them. had to make numerous attempts at getting the pins in just the right position to make them mate to the socket.

quality plug and wire insulation. Once installed, they seem tight and secure with good electrical contact.

I have installed several of these. They were ALWAYS a very snug fit, and sometimes slightly misaligned, which made them a little difficult to install the first time. I NEVER had one with loose pins. Loose pins? First time for everything, I guess!

Thanks for the comment! Sometimes there can be some wiggle room on the contacts, but typically on the light side. As long as the connections are good and solid, everything will function properly.

Worked great except the terminal ring on the ground wire is too small for many trailer bolts/posts.

Makes future replacement/repairs much e asier.

Very excellent replacement for older lights. Little bit of a long story, but it might help someone. I have an 04 Excursion that has always worked with my horse trailer lights, so I had no need to check them. Enter my 2022 F-150, and all the sudden my brake and turn signal trailer lights are doing weird and inconsistent things. Since they worked with the excursion, I figured the over engineered brains of the tow module in the F150 had to be the problem. When they didn’t work with a neighbors in between truck, I pulled the lights off the trailer and found they had no ground and were wired to the running and brake/turn wires instead.

I ordered two of these for a fit test before I bought all 4. I wish I would have just ordered all 4 because I am now very anxiously awaiting my second set. The halo running light is just such a cool look, and the turn/brake light is very bright. Much stronger than the old metal light casings I’m replacing even with led bulbs in them. I am a little worried about the casing being plastic on these, but they shouldn’t be exposed to abuse to flex it any, so it should be fine. Time will tell. I love that they are sealed watertight too. My old ones were not.

  • GloLight LED Tail Light Compatibility with 2018 Coachmen Clipper ST108
The GloLight LED Trailer Tail Light - Stop, Tail, Turn - Submersible - 22 Diodes - Oval - Red Lens # STL178RFPB is most likely a fit for your 2018 Coachmen Clipper ST108. The best way to confirm fit is to check the mounting hole locations. The mounting holes are 7 inches on center and 2-11/16 inches on center. I've attached a photo to assist. Then you can use the Snap-on Reflector Ring for STL78RB Series LED Lights - Red # A78RXB or the chrome ring # A78CB.

  • What is the Candela Output of Optronics 6-1/2 Inch Incandescent and LED Tail Lights?
I do recommend you move to LED lights as they are going to last much longer than the incandescent lights on your horse trailer. As far as light output, Optronics generally measures their lights in candelas instead of lumens though at a distance of 1 foot candela is equal to lumens so you should have a good idea of how bright the lights are. I contacted Optronics and the representative was able to give me the candelas of each of the lights you were asking about. The incandescent # BU70CB...

  • Replacement LED Trailer Lights for a 2000 Ranger R71 Boat Trailer

  • How to Connect the # STL42RB Tail Lights to a 1958 Trailer with 2 Wire Lighting System
The 4 inch Round Sealed LED Stop, Turn or Tail Light, item # STL42RB, uses a 3 wire pig tail, item # A47PB or # A45PB, to connect to your existing trailer wiring. The plug on the pigtail plugs into the back of the tail light and is then hard wired to your trailer wiring. It sounds as if your original tail lights were grounded to the trailer frame through their mounting studs, so a third wire was not needed. When connecting the 3 wires from the 3 wire pig tail, you will ground the white...

  • Installation of Optronics Sealed, 6-1/2 Inch Oval LED Trailer Stop, Turn, and Tail Light
Thank you for your purchase from etrailer.com! The Optronics Sealed, 6-1/2 Inch Oval LED Trailer Stop, Turn, and Taillight # STL78RB that you purchased will need to be hardwire installed on your trailer. You will want to connect the light to your trailer's wiring by function. You can use a circuit tester, like # PTW2993, to determine the functions of your trailer wiring. The white wire on the light will need to be grounded. I recommend running the light ground back to the main trailer...

  • Is there a Trailer Tail Light that Matches Peterson Back Up Light # 411SC
We do not have an exact match for a red round tail light like the Peterson Back Up Light, # 411SC, that you have referenced that is a flange mount. The closest flange mounted lights are going to be the Peterson round tail lights # 431800 and # 432000. For a flush mounted light, you could use # 429800 which may be more what you are looking for. We also have the Optronics brand flange mounts # STL42RB or # ST47RB. They use wiring harness # A45PB.

To install the # STL43RBX you'd need a hole diameter right at the size of 4-7/8 inches as that is the diameter of the portion of the light that would need to insert into the hole. The overall diameter is 5-3/4 inches. For a pigtail harness to wire up this light you then would want the part # A45PB.

A similar light in shape and size that would work for you is the Miro-Flex, Waterproof, Rectangular, LED Trailer Light, # STL33RB. You would also need a wiring harness like # A45PB, and a grommet, # A33GB. Or, if a rounded light is acceptable, you can go with # STL70RB, with wiring # A45PB and Grommet # a70gb.
