Adjustable, Foldable Arms

Unlike many other A-frame tow bars, the Adventurer can be used with almost any towed vehicle. With an arm spread ranging from 16" to 34", this tow bar can match the base plate width on almost any vehicle within the given capacity. To maneuver the arms, simply loosen the hex bolts that attach them to the coupler and slide them in or out until you achieve the desired spread.

When the Adventurer is not in use, fold the arms next to one another for storage.

Single-Lug Bracket

Single-Lug Connection

The Blue Ox base plates on your vehicle are equipped with two tabs each that connect to the brackets on the ends of the tow bar arms. These brackets are referred to as "lugs." The Adventurer tow bar features Blue Ox's traditional single-lug brackets for quick and easy hookup. Just insert the lugged end of the tow bar arm into the base plate, between its two tabs. Then insert the 1/2" keeper pin through the lugs and tabs and secure it at the end with the included quick pin.

Video Transcript for Blue Ox Tow Bars - Coupler Style - BX7322 Review

Today we're going to be reviewing part number BX7322. This is the Blue Ox Adventurer, A Frame Tow Bar with the Adjustable Width Arms. The coupler-style tow bar is going to let you tow your vehicle behind your motorhome. It's going to feature the integrated coupler that's going to attach directly to the trailer hitch ball on your RV. It is designed for a 2" hitch ball. The arms are adjustable to fit a wide range of base plates.

All you have to do is loosen up the hex bolts on the coupler and slide the arms further apart or closer together. Then once you have those set all you've got to do is tighten back down those hex bolts. It's going to hold the arms in place. The arms do fold up next to one another for convenient storage. Each arm is going to attach and detach from the base plates with the easy-to-access pins. You're going to get the pins, you're going to get the clips.

A very simple system to use to get it to attach or detach. Now you will need a set of safety cables; those are going to be sold separately. You can pick up some Blue Ox safety cables right here at etrailer.com using part number BX88196. Again those are going to be sold separately. The Adventurer is going go have a capacity of 5000 pounds. Again it is designed for a 2" trailer hitch ball.

It's got the trigger latch system up here. It is going to include a coupler pin that's attached with a safety chain, that way you don't ever have to worry about misplacing that or losing that. That mechanism is super easy to use, to connect or disengage from your hitch ball. This is designed to fit Blue Ox base plates that are spaced 16" to 34" apart, center on center. They can be adapted for use with the Roadmaster base plates, with the Roadmaster base plates, and Blue Ox and Democo's tow bar adapter. It's going to be sold separately with part number RM-033. The overall weight of this unit is about 28 pounds.

It's a pretty light weight unit as far as tow bars go. Nice steel construction, has a really nice coated finish on it so it is going to stand up really well against rust and corrosion, giving you many years of use. That's going to do it for our review of part number BX7322. This is the Blue Ox Adventurer A Frame Tow Bar with the Adjustable Arms. .

Good product. Did everything I needed it to do. Used it to tow my Jeep. Super easy to hook up to blue ox baseplate. I could barely even notice it back there.. pulled it with my F150. No problems turning. Kept the Jeep under control, even on the Oregon Coast. Another quality product from blue ox. etrailer did a great job helping me out. Customer service was excellent and videos were helpful covering the entire scope of setup and installation. Thank. 467144

There is not a lot of information on the internet about pulling this kind of VW. I did my homework and this works GREAT when pulling a standard transmission with key left in "ON" position. etrailer has a lot of variety to offer for different needs. This is the lower priced, plain Jane, no frills, less moving parts for something to go wrong - exactly what I was looking for tow bar. With little work it folds up for storage easily. Installation on our '98 diesel VW was clean and easy without incident (I do all my own modifications when needed. There is no rattling loose fit in tight corners or straight a ways. We don't even know we are pulling anything behind our '68 Dodge Travco B210 (modified with 5.9 Cummins) 756485

Received my tow bar in excellent condition , amazing packaging . I was a little surprised that it required adjustment prior to use . My jeep already had a Blue Ox base plate installed so it was simple to slide the bar into the adapters . Much less complicated that my old bar . The only disadvantage is there is no way to keep the bar in an upright position . Looking forward to our first trip with it . 368937

I purchased this tow bar to use with a Blue Ox base plate for my 1999 Mazda Miata. It is a very simple arrangement, with the 2 arms able to fold down to a smaller and more easily stored unit, but does not slide fore and aft as the more expensive tow bars do. As such, it takes a bit more manouvering of the towed vehicle to get it all lined up with the ball hitch. Not a problem for me, as the Miata is very light and easily pushed back and forth. Others with heavier vehicles may have more of an issue. The quality of the tow bar is excellent. Price and delivery were also excellent. This is a great choice for a budget level tow bar. 221248

  • Tow Bar, Wiring, and Base Plates Compatible with 2019 Jeep JL Rubicon with Stock LED Tail Lights
The Blue Ox Adventurer Tow Bar # BX7322 you asked about is compatible with your 2019 Jeep JL Rubicon as long as you don't overload its 5,000 lb capacity rating. The curb weight is 4,439 based on my research but if you load it up with cargo it could easily exceed the tow bar capacity. The vehicle capacity is 5,800 lbs. If you are careful, that tow bar will work for you. My recommendation is to use a tow bar with greater capacity like the Roadmaster StowMaster Tow Bar - Car Mount...

  • Comparing Blue Ox Adventurer & Tow Ready Adjustable Tow Bars
The main difference between the Blue Ox Adventurer Tow Bar # BX7322 and the Tow Ready Adjustable Tow Bar # 63180 is that the Tow Ready has a maximum speed rating of 45 mph. The Blue Ox does not have this restriction. Both are car-mount tow bars that fit a 2-inch hitch ball and both are rated for 5000-lbs. Both will mate most easily with base plates from the same maker as the bar and both will install in pretty much the same way. I recommend choosing a tow bar that gives you some safety...
