To flat tow your 2013 Fiat 500 you need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, vehicle tow bar wiring, a supplemental braking system, and possibly a high-low adapter. Please note that the online manual for your Fiat 500 states that you can only flat tow your vehicle if it has a manual transmission. I recommend checking this and any additional instructions in your copy of the owner's manual.

The safety cables that I recommend using with the EZ2 Base Plate kit # 522013-1A and Falcon 2 Tow Bar # RM-520 are the Coiled Cables # RM-643 which are rated for up to 6,000 lbs.

For wiring I recommend the Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 because it has a clean look and gives you a plug-in-play style connection after the initial installation.

Then for a supplemental braking system I recommend either the Air Force One # SM99243 if your motorhome has air or air-over-hydraulic brakes, or the Stay-IN-Play DUO # SM99251 if you have hydraulic brakes on your motorhome. These install in such a way that you can't see them when you aren't flat towing plus they are very easy to set up when it comes time to tow your Fiat.

Most flat towing setups require a high-low adapter for the tow bar to remain level while towing. I have linked our selection of adapters for you to check out as well as an article that will help you determine which is the best one for your application.

The Blue Ox Adventurer # BX7322 and the Demco Classic Base Plate Kit # DM9518298 are compatible with each other. I confirmed this with my contact at Demco. You will need the additional parts that I referenced in the answer above.

@NancyW Usually the parts for a flat tow setup will cost about $2,500 - $3,000 depending on what you get. If you get the parts I referenced above it will fall within that price range. Just add the parts you're wanting to your cart and it will show you exactly what the price comes out to be.
