Today, we're going to review and install the Blue Ox Replacement Triple Lug Brackets, part number BX88154. Now, the reason for replacing the triple lug bracket is if we have an old or outdated mount, or possibly we have a broken or damaged triple lug that needs to be replaced. Now, to do that, we're going to remove all the old bracket hardware, as it will not be reinstalled. Now, when installing the new triple lug, note that the label or sticker pointing up will be on the outside, again facing up, and the offset swings towards the outside edge. We can line it up just like that. Now, the actual install comes with the included hardware. We're going to have a bolt that will go through the tow bar, then we're going to add a washer, the triple lug, sliding the bolt through, where we'll add a second washer, and then back out through the tow bar. Then, we'll install the nylon lock nut provided. Once they're in place, we can go ahead and tighten them down.
Then, once they're tightened down, we can go ahead and torque to specifications as indicated in the instructions. Now let's go ahead and repeat the same process on the other side. Now with both of them tightened down and torqued to specifications, you can see the angle of our lug will go out, and our arrow is facing up. We're now ready to go ahead and put it into our hitch on our tow vehicle. We'll take the shank of our tow bar, line it up with our hitch, sliding it into place, lining up the hitch pin holes. Install our pin and clip, then go ahead and hook up to the towed vehicle.
Supplied with our triple lug will be a new pin and clip for securing the triple lug to the Blue Ox base plate. Just like that, we've gone ahead and changed the triple lugs onto the old tow bar and hooked up to our towed vehicle, which has the Blue Ox base plate, and we're ready to hit the road. There you have it for the replacement of the Triple Lug Brackets for Blue Ox Base Plates, part number BX88154.

replaced double lug brackets that attached to a Smittybilt xrc bumper. Fit better after the powder coat chipped away, but then have to clean the rust off.
The order came in a timely manner and the installation was straightforward.

The Brackets that E Trailer supplied from Blue Ox looked like they had been cut out with a hack saw. Since under time constraints I went directly back to Blue Ox. In no hurry, they got me a replacement set. This is my second issue of poor quality with Blue Ox. The first was a vehicle tow bar attach bracket that took major modifications because the mount holes were misaligned during their fabrication process. I submitted detailed pictures, measurements and a recommended course of action for correction. They declined a reasonable labor reimbursement.
E Trailers service and quality on other purchased products has been excellent. Follow up like this ensures it!

I put so many miles on it I have had to have it reworked twice since I did it. Had it done by Blue Ox.
Blue Ox products are top of the line. I have not installed the Triple-Lugs yet but look like the ticket. I have dealt with people at Etrailer and Blue Ox and all have been courteous, professional, and knowledgeable of the products and coordination.

The only concern is there was a sticker on product bag telling you to use lock tight red while the PDFs instructions mention nothing about this.
Someone told me that lock tight is for metal to metal contact and should not be needed with nuts that have nylon inserts.

This part is a factory replacement part, that fit perfectly. the kit should include oversize or additional nylon washers to account for normal fit.
I would of used a parts break down, by hitch part #.
Would be easier to order replacement parts,
