This tire-and-wheel setup is built for travel at real highway speeds. The Kenda 4.80/4.00-8 bias tire is Load Range B with a 4-ply rating and a 590-lb maximum load at 60 psi. It’s paired with a strong steel wheel rated for 910 lbs, so you can count on dependable performance mile after mile. Both the tire and wheel meet Department of Transportation specifications for on-road use.
Moisture and road grime are no match for this wheel’s galvanized finish. The 8" diameter x 3-3/4" wide steel rim is zinc-coated inside and out for lasting rust protection, which is great if your trailer sees wet or humid conditions. It’s a simple, durable finish that keeps the wheel looking clean and solid over time.
The bias-ply design uses thick nylon cords set at a 30- to 45-degree angle that crisscross through the casing. This layout makes the sidewalls stiffer so the entire tire flexes together, giving you sure handling and a smoother ride when rolling over rough or uneven ground.
Fitment is straightforward thanks to the common 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern, 2.8" pilot diameter, and zero offset. Wheel bolt size is 1/2"-20, making it easy to line up with standard hub hardware. The tire measures 4.6" in section width and 16.1" in outer diameter when inflated, so you know exactly how much clearance you’ll need.
Kenda backs this tire with a one-year worry-free guarantee—if it’s damaged within the first year, it will be replaced at no charge. That kind of coverage adds peace of mind to every trip right from the start.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

The tires are working out great. I traveled long distances with them several times. I try and stay at there rated speeds and have not experienced any problems. I am pleased with my purchase and would buy again.
