Features to know about

Smoother Ride Over Rough Roads: Rubber-Cored Equalizers Absorb Shock

Factory cast equalizers let every bump and dip shake through the frame. The E-Z Flex equalizers swap those out for rubber-cored units that cushion movement and cut harsh jolts. The rubber core minimizes chucking and back-and-forth motion so you feel less bounce and sway. It’s a noticeable improvement in ride comfort when you’re rolling over long stretches of rough pavement.

Long-Lasting Suspension Strength: Heavy-Duty Shackles and Bronze Bushings

Worn shackles and nylon bushings are common weak points in older suspension setups. This kit replaces them with heavy-duty shackle straps and bronze bushings that hold tight and resist wear. Greasable wet bolts keep everything moving smoothly under load, and the strong steel construction stands up to constant flexing on triple-axle applications rated up to 6,000 lbs per axle.

Easy Maintenance for Years of Use: Built-In Grease Zerks on Wet Bolts

Keeping your suspension moving freely shouldn’t mean tearing it apart. Each wet bolt includes a built-in zerk fitting for quick lubrication. A few pumps of grease keeps the bronze bushings and equalizer pivots working like new, reduces squeaks, and helps prevent corrosion over time. It’s simple upkeep that extends the life of the whole system.

Tried-and-True Fit: Designed for Triple-Axle Setups with 33" Axle Spacing

Fitment matters for proper suspension travel and even tire wear. This kit is made for triple-axle setups with 33" spacing between axles and double-eye leaf springs measuring 1-3/4" wide. The long equalizers measure 6-3/4" center-to-center and the short ones 6-3/4" as well, keeping geometry correct so the suspension cycles as it should and the trailer tracks straight.

Built to Endure the Miles: Corrosion-Resistant Bronze Finish

Road spray, salt, and grime can take a toll on suspension parts. The E-Z Flex equalizers carry a bronze finish that helps resist corrosion, while the included flange and locking nuts secure everything in place. It’s a complete upgrade kit—four equalizers, twelve shackle assemblies with wet bolts, twelve bushings, and all the hardware you need—to keep your trailer’s suspension solid and steady mile after mile.

Bud, appreciate the feedback. Sounds like your setup was due for an upgrade, glad we could be of assistance and thanks for choosing etrailer!

by:
so far, it seems like a great product. I have 350 miles on the dexter equalizers and the trailer rides great. I should have installed these years ago. The new bushings that came with the kit were easy to install. These were installed on a 40 foot three axle toy hauler.
by:
Great product. Probably the best out of all the equalizers as they are cast steel and not welded leaving weak points. Couple of the zerks were non functionable and had to be replaced. Not a big deal. Be careful if you have support V gussets in you spring hangers. The zerks may interfere with gussets. Overall a quality product and a quieter ride providing some cushion from road shock.
by:
etrailer support staff gets 5 stars. However...
The kit I received was incomplete. Bushings were missing, two shackle links and a shackle link assembly were missing. Additionally, one of the shackle link assemblies would not accept its' mating link - the bolt shafts were spread apart.
one of the equalizer assemblies did not have that gold anodize coating, another had incomplete anodize coating. see pic.
etrailer staff shipped me the bushings and the shackle link assemblies to complete my project. As for the finish, POR 15 gloss black is a lovely color. The issue here is with Dexter, not etrailer
by:
The kit is a lot heavier duty than what is on the camper.
My camper is 16 years old so it was needing some upgrades look forward to towing it will tow like a new one.
by:
I jus watched the video on installing this kit. What a joke my trailer is 12 years old and i fought with every bolt and nut for days now. I'm laying ona ground. Having to grind off most of the nuts.Hours and hours of work then reaming out the eyes to get the bushings to fit. Now installing new parts ,i have tojack up this axle thenlower this axle to get things lined up toget the new bolts etc in!!i have 2 floor jacks n 2 bottle jacks n some times i'm using all at once. The video shows them using an impact n a wrench zing they out n zing they're in.as far as the product everything seems great. Quality parts a definite improvement over stock!

GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE !

Installation was straight forward. I like the fact that you can easily grease each pivot point via the wet bolts. Upgrading the bushings from plastic to brass makes me feel its meant to last.

Works well - hope it lasts. Replaced like for like on my 2012 Road Warrior after the original failed and allowed the middle and rear tires to touch when travelling. The rubber shock degrades and allows the hinge to travel farther than its designed to go - allowing the tires to move close together. I do like the wet bolts and brass bushings. Ill be sure to watch for excessive wear and replace if necessary.

by:
The product was delivered in good condition. It was missing six of the wet bolts and I called etrailer and they looked it up off my phone number and I had them in about four days so I’m happy with that. The trailer does seem to ride better It took took me and my son about 4 1/2 hours to install but I have a triple axel. Some of the old bushings didn’t want to come out and I took a 5/8 drill bit and ran it through the leaf spring ends and they come right out. I read some of the other reviews on Heartland trailers and noticed the middle axle runs crooked. Mine was the same way. This kit has straightened my center axle out.
by:
We installed the suspension upgrade kit last year. We live full time in our vintage coach. We have always been happy with the service we get from etrailer.com and have purchased several things for our tow vehicle and travel coach.
by:
The ride seems to be smoother on the trailer. If I could ride inside it under way it would be easier and more objective than from the towing vehicle to say how improved the trailers ride is. I think the chassis experiences far less jolting that before.
by:
my only complaint was that 1 bolt on each side did not fit so i don't have grease fittings on those but being my camper is a 2013 i was not surprised. my old ones were blown right out. the red looks sweet in between the tri-axle also. over all i am happy with these. they came factory on my road warrior.
by:
Had these EZ Flex installed on my triple axle toy hauler. Couldn't have been happier with the instant improvement from the old traditional stock suspension system. The ride was smooth and steady with no more bounce from the trailer! I would recommend to anyone with trailer suspension issues.
by:
The things that separate etrailer from everyone 1.Price-always lower than anyone...2.Selection-always have what I need or will get it for me...3.Videos-show the product and what it is...4-Installation Help-Have videos and great tech staff on hand..5-Shipping-free and fast, let me know when its coming...6-easy to use website that makes shopping a breeze.. Want to improve? ? Pre-screen videos by others and only include those that are correct and helpful then pin onto your site for that product!!!! I I usually look at your vids and then on internet to get a good prospective about what I am getting ready to do . Measure twice cut once....Would save me time from scrolling through bad vids !!!!!!
by:
As advertised, easy installation, and clear instructions. Very robust and I look forward to experiencing a trip with the new set up. Very happy with my etrailer interactions.

Thanks

One of the piviots came in with a broken grease fitting that was a real pain toget the broken piece out. After waiting 3 weeks to get the kit I did not want to wait for another one so I fixed it myself.
I have not installed it yet so can not say how well it works yet.
by:
I think this kit was returned or repacked. All parts thrown in together, no protection for the powder coated parts which are now chipped.
The Dexter kit itself is a great upgrade for trailer suspension.
by:
They function good. Just very wide and rub at the mounting points. Would have went another route if I would have been more knowledgeable.
by:
Product is very well built. Fit was perfect. Looks like it will work way better than stock suspension. Fit just like original.
by:
Nice parts well made shackles are twice as thick as oem ones. Easy to install.
by:
Great system, zircs on each bolt. Quick shipping!

  • Why Do the Dexter E-Z Flex Equalizers Turn Down
I spoke to my contact at Dexter Axle and they informed me that you may have the incorrect kit. There are currently two different E-Z Flex Triple Axle Suspension Kits for triple axle trailers which will depend on axle spacing. For example, if your axles are spaced 33" apart then you will want to use part # K71-656-00 but if your axles are 35" apart then you will want to use part # K71-657-00. It looks like you have the part # K71-657-00 therefore your axles should be 35" apart center to...

  • Where Do I Place the Spring Hangers on a Homemade Trailer w/ Three Axles?
Hey Hyrum. I have no way of knowing where exactly to put the hangers on your homemade trailer. It depends on the length of the springs, equalizers, and what type of trailer it is. With a setup like you're dealing with I recommend putting the hangers back where they used to be. Hopefully the person who made the trailer did all the correct measurements originally. If not you'll need to disassemble the entire suspension system and start from scratch using something like the Triple-Axle Trailer...

  • Where to Measure to Find Out if Cushioned Equalizers Fit Trailer
Hey James, the quickest way to measure to see if the Dexter Ez Flex part # K71-656-00 will fit is to measure the wheelbase between your axles on center. If it's 33 inches then this for sure does fit. Or you can measure distance between the horizontal bolt hole centers of your current equalizers. If they are right at 6-3/4 inches that would verify this as well.
