Video Transcript for Pro Series Round, Pipe-Mount Swivel Jack w/ Footplate Review

Today were going to take a quick look at the Pro Series round pipe mount swivel jack part #: PS1401420303. Now Pro Series covers this jack with a limited one year warranty. It has a lift capacity of 5,000lbs. Were going to go over a few measurements real quick. Well measure from the top of our jack to the center of our mounting bracket and it comes in at about 6 inches. Were also going to measure from the center of our mounting bracket down to the base of the jack, that puts us at 10 inches.

Well take the same jack thats fully extended and take the same measurement. This time it comes out to 20 inches. The difference between those two measurement, 10 inches, is known as the jacks lift or travel. Its built with 2 inch diameter tubing, its a side wind style with a nice ergonomic handle to make easy to operate the jack. The outer tube is finished in black paint, the inner tube is zinc plated as well as the footplate thats welded onto the bottom.

This footplate is going to provide a nice flat base to support the nose of your trailer. On the back of the jack we can take a look at the mount setup. Youll take this steel piece and weld it to the frame of your trailer. The jack will slip over it and youll secure it with a pin. You can also remove the pin, rotate the jack and flay it up flat so that you can tow your trailer down the road without having to worry about your jack being damaged against the ground.

And thats it for our quick look at the Pro Series round pipe swivel mount jack part #: PS1401420303.

  • Can Pro Series Trailer Jack # PS1401420303 Be Pivoted Up
Hey Ronald, do you mean by turn like can the jack pivot on its mount? If so, yes the Pro Series jack part # PS1401420303 can do that like you can see in the attached picture.

  • Availability of a Pipe Mount Trailer Jack with Caster Wheel
I have a couple of jacks that I can recommend for you, but at this time we do not have a pipe mount jack available with the option of a caster wheel. The first and best fit would be the Bulldog Rack-and-Gear Jack with Steel Wheel - Weld On/ Bolt On - 16 inch Lift - 750 lbs, item # BD162300, which has a angle mounting plate that is 3-1/2 inches tall by 1-3/4 inches wide. If the fact that this jack does not swivel up out of the way is acceptable, it would be your best bet. The second is...

  • Which is Better, a Side Wind Trailer Jack or a Top Wind Trailer Jack
You would choose a side wind or top wind jack based on several factors. Each has its advantages. If clearance is an issue for the radius of a top wind, then you would choose a side wind. The opposite is also true. It is my experience that a side winding jack is easier to turn. However, if the tongue is low to the ground a top wind would be a better option because you would not have to bend down as much and it would not be as awkward to turn. A side winding jack normally has inner components...

  • How to Choose the Correct Jack for a Small Utility Trailer
When choosing a jack for your trailer you will want to choose a jack that has enough lift to lift the coupler over the hitch ball on the tow vehicle. I would recommend hooking your trailer to your truck and, with additional help, lift the trailer coupler a few inches above the hitch ball. With the trailer tongue lifted, find an appropriate location for the jack on your trailer tongue and measure from the center of the frame to the ground. This will tell you the approximate extended height...

  • Where is the Retractable Height of the Pro-Series Pipe Mounted Jack Measure From
The 10-1/2 inch measurement that you referenced is the distance from the bottom of the foot bracket to the center of the mounting bracket. I went out and measured it and shot a little video for you as well that I attached.

  • Will 2-Inch Pipe Mount for Bulldog Trailer Jack # BD158109 Fit ProSeries Jack # 1401420303
I visited our warehouse and took measurements of both of these jack mounts to confirm their compatibility. Yes, both the 2000-lb-rated Bulldog Jack # BD158109 and the 5000-lb-rated Pro Series Jack # PS1401420303 use the same round 2-inch weld-on pipe mount.

  • Swivel Jack Recommendation for a Bot Trailer with a 3000 lb to 5000 lb Weight Capacity
We have a number of jacks that fall within the 3,000 lb to 5,000 lb capacities, however, the only jack that we carry that is similar to the Pro Series, Snap-Ring Swivel Jack, # PS1401020303, is the Bulldog Round, Snap-Ring Swivel Jack, # BD171401. This jack has a 10 inch lift and a 5,000 lb weight capacity. If you did not want to go with the Bulldog jack, we offer pipe-mount jacks like the Pro Series Round, Pipe-Mount Swivel Jack, # PS1401420303. The inner pipe mount of this jack must...

  • Will a Pipe Mount Swivel Jack Fit a 2-3/8 Inch Outer Diameter Pipe
Pro Series Round, Pipe-Mount Swivel Jack # PS1401420303 is a potential option for you. Please note that it does come with the pipe that gets welded onto the trailer. That pipe has an outer diameter of 2 inches. The 2-1/2 inch outer diameter mating pipe on the jack is meant to go over the included weld-on pipe. At 2-3/8 inches the pipe you have is an odd size for pipe mount jacks.

  • Pipe Mount Weld On Swivel Jack With Built in Grease Fitting
I do have an option for you but the Pro Series Round, Pipe-Mount Swivel Jack w/ Footplate part # PS1401420303 does not include a grease fitting for easy greasing. I recommend Round, Pipe Mount Swivel Jack w/ Footplate - Weld On part # TJP-7002S-B which is a weld on pipe mount side wind jack with 7,000 lbs of capacity. It offers 15-1/2" of travel and has a built grease zerk to allow for effortless greasing.

  • Is 5,000 lb Bulldog Topwind Jack Stronger or Easier to Use than Bulldog Sidewind Jack
The sidewind and top wind 5,000 lb Bulldog pipe-mounted trailer jacks you asked about have the steel construction with a zinc-plated inner tube and 5,000 lb capacity, so they are equal in strength. We also have a similar version by Pro Series. They also have the same ease in regard to cranking, though this can be based on personal preference. Some people would rather crank vertically (sidewind) as opposed to horizontally (topwind) and clearance is also another consideration if there's...

  • Replacement Swivel Jack with Pipe Mount for Snow Plow
The Pro Series Round, Pipe-Mount Swivel Jack w/ Footplate - Sidewind - 10" Lift - 5,000 lbs # PS1401420303 has a 10-1/2 inch dimension from the center of the mount but is only 6-1/2 inches from the center of the mount to the top of the unit. This is the shortest length from base to mount. If you need clearance when not in use, I recommend inverting the jack. If you need that measurement for function, then I recommend resting your plow on something to allow the jack to swing into place...

  • Diameter of Pin and Pin Hole on Pro Series Round, Pipe-Mount Swivel Jack
We ran out to the warehouse and took some measurements, and the pin on the Pro Series Round, Pipe-Mount Swivel Jack w/ Footplate # PS1401420303 is 1/2" in diameter, and the pin hole is 5/8" in diameter. I linked a short review video of the jack for you to check out.

  • Pipe Mount Trailer Jack Recommendation for Utility Trailer
The jacks you looked at are the side mounting jacks like the part # PS1401420303 which mount with a pipe mount that attaches directly to the trailer frame. This would be a great option that would work well on a smaller utility trailer.

  • Additional Pipe Mounts For Pro Series Round, Pipe-Mount Swivel Jack # PS1401420303
You will need the Bulldog 2-1/4" Long, Weld-On Jack Pipe Mount # BD005005 to add additional mounting points for the Pro Series Round, Pipe-Mount Swivel Jack # PS1401420303. The pipe exterior diameter is 2" and the mount is 2-1/4" long.

  • Stabilizer Jacks for a Mercedes Sprinter
The Pro Series # PS1401420303 would not be the best option for use as stabilizers for your Mercedes Sprinter. I recommend something like # UF48-979004 which is a set of 4 stabilizers rated for 6,000 pounds each. As long as you have 11 inches or more between the ground and the bottom of the vehicle frame these will fit. Another option is to mount 2 sets of scissor jacks # UF48-979002 to the bottom of the frame at the four corners of the vehicle. These jacks have a capacity of 6,500 pounds...

  • Is The Bulldog Trailer Jack # BD178201 Available
We do offer the Bulldog Trailer Jack # BD178201, but it's unfortunately on extended back order at this time so it could be a bit before you get these in hand. If you need some jacks right away then I recommend going with the Pro Series Round, Pipe-Mount Swivel Jack w/ Footplate # PS1401420303 instead. Pro Series and Bulldog are both owned by the same parent company so these jacks are essentially the same, just different paint jobs.

  • What Diameter Tube Does Pro Series Pipe Mount 5k Trailer Swivel Jack Mount To
The Pro Series jack # PS1401420303 fits on a 2 inch outer diameter tube welded to the trailer frame. The tube actually comes with the jack so you do not have to find a match or modify anything. Just have the new tube welded on. A professional welder or iron worker would charge a nominal fee to remove the old tube and weld on the new one.

  • Can 2 Pro Series 5k Pipe Mount Trailer Swivel Jacks Be Used in Tandem
The Pro Series trailer jack # PS1401420303 is not designed to be used in tandem with another jack. For that you would want to look at some landing gear options, see link. Landing gear is usually found on 5th wheel or gooseneck trailers. For something that is close to the same capacity as the Pro Series jack, we have # LG-183708 rated at 6,000 pounds.

  • Replacement 5K Pipe-Mount Trailer Swivel Jack with Foot
It sounds like you have a pipe-mount swivel jack that is pipe mounted, 5K capacity, steel footplate, and 15-inches of lift. I recommend the Pro Series # PS1401420303 is similar but instead offers 10-inches of lift. A link to all 5K pipe-mount swivel jacks is included for you and a video of the # PS1401420303.

  • Can Pro Series Trailer Jack - PS1401420303 be Mounted at the Back of a Trailer for Support
You could put Pro Series Round, Pipe-Mount Swivel Jack # PS1401420303 anywhere that it will fit including at the rear of the trailer to help with support. Usually people use scissor jacks such as # UF48-979031 for this type of application though. The neat thing about these jacks is you can add adapter # UF48-979005 and raise and lower the scissor jacks using an electric drill. That will save you a lot of time and energy.
