My camper has a GVWR sticker of 7600. Which model should I choose?

Hi James!

With your GVWR being 7,600 pounds, your loaded tongue weight should be around 760 pounds. With that said, I recommend going with the Weigh Safe True Tow Weight Distribution Hitch - 2" Shank - 6" Drop - 8.5K GTW, 850 lbs TW # WS79VR.

The Weigh Safe # WS59MR you were looking at has 12,500 pounds towing and 1,250 pounds of tongue weight capacity and would be too heavy duty for your trailer. You want your loaded tongue weight to fall as close to the middle of the system's capacities as possible and I think the # WS79VR will serve you much better.

It looks like you will be towing with an F-150? This uses a 2" shank, which you should also have. If you have the 2-1/2" hitch though, just let me know. And also, what kind of trailer will you be towing with this set up?

Thank you. This is a 2023 Keystone Bullet 287QBS. I had pulled it with my 2022 Ram 2500 Power Wagon prior. It was surprising for me to learn that my F150 actually has a higher payload than the Power Wagon did. That’s the trade off for the off road capability I suppose.

@JamesC The Power Wagon does tend to have softer suspension for off-roading capabilities, so that would explain it a little. We actually recommend going with a slightly heavier duty system when we know someone is towing with a Ram due to that. They do ride really nice though. And sweet camper! Where you headed?
