Hey Kirt,

Congrats on the new car!

To get your car safe to flat tow you'll need the following parts:

Base-Plate # RM39FR
Tow-Bar Adapter # RO64FR
Lighting # RM-15267
Chargeline # RM-156-25
Air-Force One Vehicle Side # SM99209 and Hose # SM99666 (if you do not still have the vehicle side of the kit, I didn't see you mention that)
OR
Air Force One # SM99226 (If you still have the hose and vehicle side of the kit)

You may also need a high-low adapter, your tow bar needs to be within 3" of level, so if you can measure from the ground to the center of the receiver on your Pheaton I can confirm which, if any, adapter is needed.

The reason for the Roadmaster base plate is Blue Ox does not make one for a plug-in hybrid, so this base plate with the mentioned adapter will be required to reuse your Blue Ox Tow Bar. Also I am assuming you still have the safety cables that came with your tow bar, but if you don't, just let me know and I can recommend some.

What car did you flat tow before?

The wiring kit works just fine . Wire loom was too short though .

I have used this exact setup for the past three years. It was an easy installation (and the wires were plenty long). It worked perfectly right out of the box - no troubleshooting required. The wiring kit has worked without a glitch for three years. It works so well that I often wonder when the next shoe will fall and I have to do some maintenance or repair to keep it working. But that has not happened - It just works perfectly! I would recommend this setup without reservation (Air Force One, Blue Ox towbar, and the Blue Ox wiring kit). All the best, Ron

Hi Kirt, I installed this kit on my 2019 Chevy Traverse AWD. The wiring kit worked just fine and hasn't given me any problems since I installed it in the Summer of 2024. I too have an air assisted accessory brake system and a Blue Ox tow bar and my coach is a 2014 Tiffin Allegro Red 38QBA. I am not familiar with your Ford Escape car but the wiring kit worked perfectly for my Traverse. I have no problem recommending this kit! God bless!

Works as advertised… Although I had the battery charge wire also installed so I would not have to stop every 6 hours and start my tow car
