Question:
Im looking at Weigh Safe weight distribution hitches. I have a Jayco 316 GVWR 7600. Im waivering between the WS94RR with a TW rating of 1200 and the WS79VR with a TW rating of 850. TW estimates are between 1160 and 760. Im happy to go with the bigger model, but I worry if my TW is on the lower end of the estimate that the unit may not perform well. Im looking for some advise from an expert. Thank you for your help.

Hey Steve. The 12.5K Weigh Safe True Tow Weight Distribution Hitch item # WS94RR is going to be the best option for your Jayco trailer. You've done your homework well and with the range of 760 lbs - 1,160 lbs tongue you are not going to want to go with the 8.5K item # WS79VR. You'll be over it's capacity quickly and that's when you run into these systems being ineffective.
The only issue you would experience if your tongue weight was on the low end with item # WS94RR would be a stiffer feeling when you pull your trailer. I don't think you're going to have this issue. Any cargo or tools in your truck bed is going to add to your trailer's tongue weight. Plus with the built-in scale you can mess around with how you load up your trailer.
The 12.5K Weigh Safe item # WS94RR comes with a shank that has a 6" drop. I see you're driving a F-250, I recommend the 12.5K Weigh Safe True Tow Weight Distribution Hitch item # WS82ZR. This is the same weight distribution system but it includes a shank with an 8" drop. The cost is comparable and the extra 2" of length will make it easier to get your Jayco level when you set this system up.
Please note that Weigh Safe systems are not universally compatible so you will need to use one of their shanks.
What vehicle are you towing your trailer with?
