Today, we're going to take a quick look at Dexter Axles, Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly, part number 8-276-51. This hub and drum assembly has a capacity of 2200 pounds and it uses a 4 on 4 bolt pattern. There are four studs and if we're able to accurately measure from the center of one stud directly across to the center of the other stud, we get about 4 inches. Inside the hub bore, you'll find that the races are already pressed in. You will need to use a grease seal sold separately, part number 10-9 and two bearings also sold separately, part number L44649 and that will be your inner and outer bearing, and you also need to source the grease cap. Now, we'll take a look at the measurement inside.
We have an inner diameter of 7 inches. Our depth comes in at a little under 2 inches, which means this drum should be used with 7-inch by 1-3/4-inch brake assemblies. And that's it for our quick look at Dexter Axles, Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly, part number 8-276-5.
Looks good, exactly what I expected.
worked great.
This was an exact fit replacement! Thank you. I have ordered multiple times and everything has been exactly as ordered!
Hub fits as stated and showed up a day early
This place conducts buisness professionally and
Has great cust service.
Will continue to use them for my trailer parts
Ordered the wrong size drum for brakes. Return was quick and easy.
Their on time delivery was really Excellent ! I’m in gratitude to setup Hydraulic brakes to keep my load in order and safe from twisting. They exceeded the mark on ‘Prompt delivery’. However, I had to get the right spindle from another reseller; check that ‘a/16 is greater than road tolerance.
Put this on my 2002 Jayco Eagle 14so. Perfect fit. The old lugs spun in the hub, easier just to replace than try to repair.
Parts came in quicker than expected. Everything fit great and and looks great !!
One of the best projects I ever did. Love the results. Everything worked, fit and preforms as expected. The customer service helped me order the correct parts, the first time. Replaced lines, hubs, bearings, drums, brakes, everything.
First Rate.
Works perfectly and made well! I have a 1997 Jayco 1207 popup camper and it was kind of a guess on which one to buy. I was torn between the Dexter 7 x 1 1/4 or the 7 x 1 3/4. I chose this one and it was perfect! My only complaint is that one of them arrived to me with multiple chips and starting to rust, but I figured it's just going to get scratched up anyways so I just put it on the trailer. The bearings, grease seal, lug nuts, and the actual hug seem to be just like OEM. Shipping was very quick as well!
Exact fit and quick shipping. Thank you
The drum fit and worked well
This hub and drum assembly was a perfect fit. I had no idea which one I needed. I called and talked to Ricky S. He told me exactly what I needed and got it ordered,
All the parts I ordered were delivered in a timely manner, and seem to be high quality. They fit perfectly which really impressed me as many variations there are in these types of parts. I would definitely do business with etrailer.com again. Thanks.
Drums installed easily, wheel bearing races not very good quality, had some pitting due to rust, Decided to install as I had a trip planned and didn't want to spend another weekend working on it. Hope it lasts.
Found what I needed, called in to verify. Quick shipping and most important, as described.
Stacey A. was very helpful when we placed the order. Everything that was ordered arrived in 2 days which was awesome. Thank you!
