Thoroughly Tested for Safety

This hub-and-drum assembly meets the requirements for certification by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). The CSA creates standards, which when complied with ensure a safe and quality product. This assembly underwent extensive testing to measure stopping distances when braking. This assembly has also been tested by QAI for braking performance in a complete automotive setup and under real-world conditions to provide the most realistic scenario for the everyday driver.

E-Z Lube and Easy Grease-Compatible Assembly for Simple Lubrication

The grease cap on this hub-and-drum assembly is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube or etrailer Easy Grease axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

I have a 2004 Honda trike that I built a pull behind trailor for! After pulling it loaded it was hard to stop safely! This brake assembly along with the Redarc brake controller done the JOB! now it stops safely

by:

No information is provided as to axle to brake flange spacing so this will fit and work. If you don't already have the complete axle, buyer beware this will be a huge pain.

Upgraded my hubs and added electric brakes to my Aliner. As usual with etrailer, great product and even better customer service. I originally ordered the wrong size and etrailer worked with me to determine the correct size for my trailer. They then sent out the new parts and gave me a full refund on returned parts. New hubs and brakes work flawlessly.

etrailer.com needs to change up their website to ask you to select the bearing size you need for this product upon adding it to your cart. This mistake is ultimately on me, but I think the site could improve the shopping experience by making the user select the proper bearing size.

I ordered two of these hubs and it came with a bearing that was 0.05 too small. I asked to exchange and they told me that the only ones they had in stock with the bearing I needed were 80 bucks more (each).

I asked to return them. Sure, no problem, that'll be $[XX] to send them back.

So my advice is to choose wisely when you order and make sure you have the right bearings.

I ended up putting my old bearings in the new hubs. Perhaps etrailer.com could have just swapped the bearings for me as an alternative

Needed to add brakes to my trailer to meet the specs of our vehicle's towing capacity. These hubs were one of many purchase required to make that happen.

It's been a year and they've been working as expected.

  • Recommended Hub W/ Integrated Drums for a BT8 Spindle
Charles, it looks like none of our hubs with integrated rotors are going to work with your BT8 Spindle # TRU59FR. We do have the DeeMaxx 10" Hub/Rotor Assembly # DE49VR which will work with 3.5K axles and has a 5 on 4 1/2" bolt pattern, but nothing for your BT8 spindle. We do also have hubs with integrated drums like the Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 2K Axles # AKHD-545-2-EZ-1K which will work with your BT8 spindle.
