Features to know about

Upgrade From Drum to Disc for Better Control: Dacromet-Coated 10" Hub and Rotor Assembly

Swapping out old electric drum brakes for disc makes a noticeable difference in stopping power and consistency. This Dexter 10" hub-and-rotor kit fits 3,500-lb axles with a 4-bolt flange and 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern, built for 14" to 15" wheels. With cast iron calipers, a mounting bracket, hardware, bearings, and grease seal included, it’s ready to bolt on and go. The assembly is Dacromet coated for corrosion resistance that holds up in wet or coastal use.

Built for Reliable Braking Performance: Fewer Parts, Shorter Stops

Disc brakes have only one moving part compared with the many parts found in drum brakes. That means less maintenance and fewer parts to wear out. With this setup you get consistent braking torque even at highway speeds and much shorter stopping distances than drums can offer. The result is smoother, more predictable braking every time you tow.

Handles Real-World Loads With Confidence: 3,500-lb Axle Capacity

Each hub-and-rotor unit is rated for a 3,500-lb axle and designed around common wheel bolt diameters of 1/2". Bearing sizes are matched to L68149 inner and L44649 outer bearings with races L68111 and L44610 for a precise fit. The seal RG06-050 (1.719" inner diameter, 2.565" outer diameter) completes the setup so the hub spins freely under load without leaks or contamination.

DIY Ready Installation: Complete Kit With Straightforward Mounting

Everything about this design makes home installation approachable. The caliper bracket attaches directly to the axle’s brake flange, the hub slides onto the spindle with supplied bearings and seal, and the caliper bolts right up before connecting the brake line. Just pair it with an actuator capable of 1,500 psi line pressure—required for disc brakes—and you’re set for reliable electric-over-hydraulic or surge operation season after season.

The best customer service!

Brakes were great for almost a year, then one of the pistons started sticking causing me to have to do an emergency repair on the side of the road. Luckily I caught it soon enough that I think the hubs and rotor are ok. Brakes have been used 95% in freshwater with only one trip to Florida where they were immediately heavily rinsed with fresh water.

Received a wrong part in a brake kit I ordered the correct part was sent and all is good.

by:

These discs are noticeably stronger than my old drums. I was happy to find this kit came with everything I needed for install.

by:

Knowledgeable, patient and willing to help even when my part numbers weren't working! Will did an excellent job working on alternatives to find the right fit. First try, parts arrived on time and fit great. Thank you!

by:

Brake rotor/caliper kit worked like a charm. Will definitely buy from again!!

by:

This is a great product and was exactly as advertised. The shipping and packaging was done very well and arrived to my door in perfect condition. Shipping was fast and the price was amazing, if I was to source the parts locally it would have cost over triple the price. Thank you for your service.

by:

Customer service is amazing I will be ordering all my trailer needs from etrailer

by:

Overall quality of product was fine, however, they didn’t include the brake caliper in the kit. I emailed etrailer and received a quick response but it’s been almost a month and they still haven’t sent me the caliper that I paid for. Pretty lame considering they pride themselves in customer service.

Sorry to hear the issues and service you received, Carl. We do pride ourselves on our customer service, but it looks like we dropped the ball here, and for that I sincerely apologize. We don't currently have any stock for this, but I am contacting Dexter to see if they have any of the calipers to ship out to you. I will let you know as soon as I hear anything from them. Again, I apologize for this continued inconvenience and I will do my best to try and make it right.

Hi Carl. I just wanted to let you know Dexter is getting a replacement caliper sent out to you. It's going FedEx Ground out of Atlanta, so it will take a few days, but it is on its way. I know this wasn't a great experience with us, but if you do need anything else, just let me know.

This brake assembly has been working great for me. It was easy to install (see install video on etrailer site if needed) and gives me great piece of mind. This brake assembly has seen over 1500 miles so far for me.

by:

The brake system is awesome. The best trailer brakes I have ever owned. Unfortunately I had a rock kick up, jam between the trailer frame and brake causing damage to one assembly. The people at etrailer are great to deal with and everything I needed arrived quickly. The entire swap over took less than an hour as the setup is so simple.

by:

I ordered this kit so to have spare parts for the Titan disc brake kit which I installed from my previous order. From past experience I discovered it is always good to have these parts available and on hand for when a wheel bearing destroys itself on a Sunday morning 500 miles from nowhere and a person should be prepared with the knowledge how to do this work on the shoulder of the road by ones self! So much for roadside service it just doesn’t work for all locations as those insurance company’s advertise.
In short even with the best of quality parts(which I am happy to say etrailer has always supplied me with) there will be failures which can put a big hole in vacation budget!
This kit was just as advertised and includes everything to replace one complete hub assembly ,bearings ,disc brake and rotor (just what you would need for that roadside repair).
Also many thanks to the folks at etrailer for delveloping such a good Hydraulic disc brake kit to replace the horrible electric brakes that came with our trailer.
They never really worked well no Mather what special adjustments or service that was performed on them! The trailer manufacturers should be ashamed for ever using them in the first place and for safety’s sake electric brakes should be outlawed!

by:

I expect 2 rotors. Who would change just 1 side of an axle. Would have purchased a completely different product had I known for that price it was only half of what I need. I see now that the picture only shows 1 rotor, but it never even crossed my mind that someone would do only half the job.

by:

I received an incomplete order with missing calipers, etrailer was unable to get me the part in a timely manner and blamed it on the manufacturer Dexter. This caused me to spend the Labor day week with my kids and grand kids at the lake minus the ski boat. This order is being returned. Poor customer service!!!

by:

perfect fit! The only down side (which isn't a big deal) is in purchasing two of these sets, one had red pads and the other was silver. Symmetry would have been nice.

  • How to Make Fulton A60 Swinging Coupler Compatible with Disc Brakes
Thank you for all of the info! I did some digging and found out that your older Fulton A60 swing away actuator was actually a UFP A60 actuator on a Fulton coupler hinge like part # FHDPW330300. • How to Convert From Drum to Disc Brakes on Keystone Travel Trailer
Okay, so there's a number of things you'll need to convert your Keystone travel trailer from drum to disc brakes, and I'll detail how to determine that. You'll need a hub and rotor disc brake kit, though we don't have a way of knowing specifically what hub you have. This means you will need to take apart your current hub assembly and look at the bearings themselves; wipe away the grease and you should be able to see the part number stamped directly on them.
