When impeller macerators lock up on fishbox waste, drainage stops. This 12V pump uses non-choke valves instead of an impeller, runs dry without damage, and moves discharge at 5.8 GPM to finish the job.
Fishboxes collect scales, slime, and debris that stall impeller-style pumps. This unit replaces the impeller with non-choke valves that pass waste without jamming and can run dry during pump-out without burning out the motor. Discharge continues moving instead of locking up mid-cleanout.
Replacing a failed macerator often means reworking plumbing if ports do not align. The 90-degree port orientation matches common fishbox layouts, while the 360-degree rotating head and 1" or 1-1/2" hose connections allow routing in tight compartments without sharp bends or hose rerouting.
Small-boat electrical systems demand predictable loads. This 12V DC pump specifies a 10-amp fuse, 16 AWG cable, and delivers 5.8 gallons per minute with a maximum discharge head of 10 feet, keeping fishbox evacuation within common DC system limits.

Hi, everyone. Steve here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking together at the Whale Gulper Grouper MK1 Fishbox Pump. Folks, this runs on 12 volts of power. The Gulper Grouper MK3 gives you a 90 degree port orientation, so you can loosen this up and twist this up or down 360 degrees depending on where you need it. And it's ideal as a direct macerator replacement in your fishbox installations that you're gonna be doing.
So there's no impeller to worry about clogging or burning, no choke valves. This can easily handle your fishbox waste. Now I already mentioned about the head rotating and everything, and then you have your choice of 1-inch or 1 1/2 inch hose connections. And I just kind of loosely put them in here. And if you notice, there's an arrow molded into the plastic.
That's your inlet. That's the flow of the water. On your outlet, you will have this little insert here. Make sure you're following instructions as far as how to hook that up, and make sure you got on the right side. Again, then you can swap to a 1-inch option here versus the 1 1/2 inch.
So again, it's totally up to you what you wanna do as far as which size you need and what works for you. A 10 amp fuse, you have your installation screws, and again, everything comes here with both options. The discharge head is three feet. The flow rate per minute is 5.8 gallons. Maximum suction lift, 1 1/2 feet.
Maximum discharge head 10 feet. So again, folks, this will save your battery. It uses very little power consumption. Again, no filters to worry about, no clogging, no motor burnout, anything like that. This is a great option, either for an upgrade or a direct replacement, for that macerator in your fishbox. That will wrap it up for our quick look together. I'm Steven. Thanks for watching.
