Designed for RVs

Thule Range 4-Bike Hanging-Style Rack Dual Folding Arms with Anti-Sway Cradles with HitchSwitch Lever

The Thule Range is built to withstand the added vibration and stress that comes from being installed on the back of your RV. The base has no moving parts and the mast attaches to the shank with steel-reinforced brackets. These overbuilt components ensure that the rack can take any punishment that the road may inflict.

Dual Folding Arms with Anti-Sway Cradles

Thule Range 4-Bike Hanging-Style Rack Dual Folding Arms with Anti-Sway Cradles with HitchSwitch Lever

The Range has dual arms that provide excellent support for your bikes. They slope up to provide ground clearance for steep driveways and bumpy roads.

Thule Range 4-Bike Hanging-Style Rack Hitch Switch Lever

To fold the arms down, pull up the HitchSwitch lever at the top of the mast. This leaves a smaller footprint, so you can keep the rack on your vehicle to park at the campsite. And when stored in this configuration, it doesn't take up as much space in your garage.

Thule Range 4-Bike Hanging-Style Rack Anti-Sway Cradles

HideAway anti-sway cradles with rubber straps hold your bikes firmly in place. Each set of cradles has two straps that secure your bike along the top tube and one that secures the seat post or downtube. This multi-point contact helps keep your bikes from rocking back and forth, reducing bike-to-bike contact. The soft rubber cradles rotate around the rack's arms to accommodate bikes of different styles and shapes.

Thule Range 4-Bike Hanging-Style Rack Grooves

The cradles have grooves on the surface that prevent your brake and shifter cables from getting pinched.

Thule Range 4-Bike Hanging-Style Rack Folding Cradles

Ratchet straps hold your bikes firmly in place on the cradles. You can remove the lower straps and fold the cradles up against the arms to make it easier to slide your bikes onto the rack.

Complete Security for Bikes and Rack

Thule Range 4-Bike Hanging-Style Rack Locking Cable

The included locks secure your bikes to the rack and the rack to your vehicle. The integrated cable lock threads around your bikes' frames and inserts into the lock at the end of the left arm. The cable stores inside the mast when not in use.

Thule Range 4-Bike Hanging-Style Rack Hitch Adapter

An anti-rattle SnugTite hitch lock is included to secure the Range to your vehicle's hitch. It also helps to eliminate noise and movement of the rack in your hitch. An integrated dust cover helps keep the lock clean on the inside. Additional One-Key System locks (sold separately) let you make all your Thule products keyed alike.

Available Adapter Bar

Thule Helium Pro 2-Bike Hanging-Style Rack Locking Cable

If you have a women's bike, kid's bike, or any other bike without a straight, horizontal top tube, you will need an adapter bar (sold separately) to properly mount your bike. The bar fits between the seat post and handlebar stem post of your bike to create a top tube so your bike hangs level on the rack.

by:

This is the best bike rack for a 5th wheel that I have ever seen or used. I have had it for a year now and used it multiple times. We travel for work and my wife follows me in the car, so she can see the bikes on the rack and what they are doing. She says they hardly move at all. It holds them very solid even when going over rough roads, where we see the bikes on the back of other RV's bouncing all over the place.

by:

I combined this with the Mount-n-lock bumper hitch receiver as well as the safety struts bumper reinforcements. We have gone on one of the bumpiest roads and while this thing takes a beating, it does the job. It does a fair amount of bouncing as I see it in the camper rear camera, but I think that’s part of the engineering to let a little absorption of the bounce happen. Overall, great product and I highly recommend. (By the way, don’t forget to do your calculations for the weight of your bikes as they go further away from the inner most part of the bike rack, they weight heavier).

by:

5 stars for the etrailer experience and initial installation! We haven’t gotten back on the road with the rack yet so I will have to update our review once we are traveling again in a couple weeks. But the order experience was great as usual! It’s easy to get a hold of someone at etrailer, and they are always helpful with answering any questions. Shipping time was faster than expected. And the initial installation went smoothly :)

After a year, we are still loving this bike rack! We’ve even added 2 more bikes to it so it’s at capacity now : We have had zero issues and would definitely recommend it!

by:

I tried two other brands of bike racks on our Travel Trailer. They were simply too weak to handle the sway and bouncing that happens at the back of a Travel Trailer. This one is perfect. Well-built and very sturdy and it holds 4 mountain bikes for road trips of several hundred miles without any issues.

by:

If you have a standard bike frame, this rack would be great. But if you don't it's very difficult to get them to fit without some effort. If the straps holding them get twisted during travel, they are difficult to release. That being said, this is a sturdy rack and can take the extra abuse behind a trailer. The locking cable and bolt that connect to the receiver are a bonus.

by:

Great rack! It is mounted on the RV and doesn’t move AT ALL. Our regular rack would shake back and forth. You do need to put some protection between bikes if you have a nice bike. This is a great RV bike rack!

by:

We’re quite pleased with the quality of our bike rack. However, we did need to purchase a bike adapter for my wife’s bike so that it would sit level on the bike rack. Prior to purchasing the adapter part of the bike rack broke that held my wife’s bike in place. Using the adapter seems to have solved that problem.

by:

Use the bike rack on the back of a 5th wheel. Like the bike rack. It is sturdy and holds 4 full size bikes with no problems. Like the built in lock and hitch lock that use the same key. Only complaint is one of the bike straps broke.

Awesome bike rack. We have used it multiple times on the back of the truck and on back of camper. Holds our 4 bikes with no issues. love.

It is always important to use these racks within their designed use. A common mistake is to overload the carrier. What types of bikes did you have loaded up? Was the weight limit exceeded? Additionally it is always a good idea to double check tie downs and straps to assure everything is secure.

by:

Make sure your bike rack is rated to be attached behind a trailer, "It's a thing."

Our previous bike rack failed when attached behind our towable RV trailer. The pin broke or became disconnected and the rack dragged our Trek bikes briefly before we pulled over, and restored the bikes elsewhere.

After buying new Trek cruiser bikes I looked for a new bike rack and then found out that it must be rated to be towed behind an RV. Wait just a moment, pun intended.

It makes sense when you think about it that there is more swing behind an RV trailer than there is from just behind an SUV all on its own. That little extra movement gets exaggerated when your bikes are on a rack behind a trailer that you're towing.

This Thule bike rack was rated for being placed at the end of an RV trailer and has performed admirably. I additionally used bungee cords to keep the bikes stable and separated even if we accidentally hit a pothole in the road.

by:

This has worked out really well on the back of our 40' 5th wheel camper! You have to figure out how to best configure your bikes for the rack (e.g. we have an adult fat bike, adult mountain bike and teenager and toddler bikes). Keep the bolts torqued and after a year we're about due for new straps to keep the bikes in and safer. Very pleased!

by:

We went through 2 other Thule hitch mounted racks, both broke due to the constant bouncing and movement on the back of our 5th wheel. We are carrying 2 beach cruisers and a small toddler size strider bike. Both were tray style carriers with hook arms. The first model shared the hook arm between two bike the second was the T2 Pro model...both times the hook arms snapped in half. I was hesitant to get another Thule product, but noticed this one is specifically designed for an RV application. Upon first glance it is a very sturdy product made of thick steel (I think) as oppose to aluminum. To date, we have driven about 180 miles with it and we've definitely hit some extremely bouncy and rough roads which would have broken the tray style racks...this one appears unphased. My only complaints are that the smaller kids bike doesn't exactly fit. I've got it on there, but the cross bar isn't quite long enough and I may take it off on the next leg of our trip. The other issue I has with it is that the bike mounts are so close together that I had to skip a space between the beach cruisers due to handle bars, baskets and bike accessories.

by:

I've had my Thule rack for a year now. I originally bought it to bring our bikes along with us on camping trips. We've certainly used it for that purpose but we've also used it extensively with of Jeep Grand Cherokee as well. The rack is very well made and people ask us all the time where we got this particular model. We say, "etrailer" and you'll find no better place and no better price!

by:

etrailer has done it again. Another great product Easy to assemble just a couple of bolts. Very well-built,
Can’t wait do you put on the back of my fifth wheel.

After owning this bike rack for over a year and having it on the back of my fifth wheel it has been fantastic. Traveling up and down the East Coast it is held up wonderfully and is rocksolid. Bikes are secure and is easy to use. Rocksolid construction. I highly recommend this product to anyone.

I would recommend it

Great we use it on the vehicles

by:

Seems well made and very sturdy. Have not tried on the road yet. The lower vertical straps and mounts are not able to pivot to the extent necessary to be tightly secured to the bike frame. Not sure they will do much to keep bike from swinging. The directions for the product install assembly are just drawings. I had to watch a video on you tube to figure out how the lock cylinder went together. Also the locking security cord should be pulled out completely before you bolt the frame together (would have been nice to know that) or it may get stuck in the frame and pull out only a short distance.

by:

Absolutely love it . Easy to use

by:

I like the Bike rack that we got. we have Trek bikes which have a wide top bar and do not side flush on the rack, but i think will work with the straps. Solid bike rack

by:

Rack works quite well. Little tight to get 4 bikes on but it works. Very extra durable rack.

by:

I haven’t had the chance to use the bike rack yet but it was very easy to install and appears to be made very well. So far I am pleased with my purchase but until I get a chance to use it I won’t know how well it holds up to the abuse of being on the back of my camper.

by:

Built like a tank, best bike rack I’ve ever handled or seen. Super heavy duty and easy to load and unload bikes.

by:

Great Item to have when using a RV or Travel Trailer to carry the Bicycles.

Item broke the first time we used it. Costumer service is a joke. No one would help us.

  • How Much Space Is Between The Cradles On The Thule Range RV 4-Bike Rack # TH9057?
The Thule Range RV Bike Rack # TH9057 spaces each of the cradles 7" on center. Bike racks are typically always measured from center to center on their cradles since not all bikes are the same width so its impossible to know how much space will be between all bikes. The Thule is going to give you the most spacing between the bikes of RV compatible 4 bike racks we carry.

  • Recommendation for Transporting 2 Bikes with 2015 Jayco RKDS Trailer
When transporting bikes behind a trailer like your 2015 Jayco RKDS, I first recommend checking to see if your existing bike rack is rated for use with trailers and RVs. The bounce and movement that you mentioned seeing on other racks is exactly why only certain bike racks are approved to be used on trailers. This is because the rear of a trailer or RV is extended well beyond the rear axle, which in turn acts like a seesaw and creates a lot of movement that puts added stress on the rack....

  • Bike Rack Recommendation for 4 Bikes at the Back of a Towed Vehicle
I recommend using the Thule Range RV Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # TH9057 at the back of your towed vehicle. This is a newer design from Thule in that the bikes are spaced a little further apart than traditional hanging racks to it will be easier to load them, and then the shank is actually solid which gives it more rigidity and the ability to handle more movement it will see at the back of your vehicle. The one thing you need to keep in mind is the cradles are rated for 37.5 lb bikes so just...

  • Trailer Hitch for Bike Rack for 2021 Grand Design Transcend Xplor 265BH
For RVs like your 2021 Grand Design Transcend Xplor 265BH the best solution for a trailer hitch would be a multi fit hitch like the Curt # 13703 which can fit all trailer frame styles that are 22 inch to 72 inch apart. This has a 3,500 lb towing capacity as well. This would let you use an RV approved bike rack like the Thule Range part # TH9057.

Adding the Lippert Bolt-On Shock Kit w/ Heavy Duty Gas Shocks - 3,500-lb (2-3/8") Axle # LC281255 would help to lessen the impact of the trailer movement on your bikes and bike rack, but since there isn't a way to quantify what the difference will be, we still need to use a bike rack that's been rated for use at the back of a travel trailer so with that in mind I recommend using the Thule Range bike rack: - Thule Range RV Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # TH9057 Thule has tested and approved this...

Yes. You absolutely, positively, without any shadow of a doubt MUST use Swagman Bike Frame Adapter Bar # 64005 with your Trek Marlin 6 & 7 bikes on either the Yakima LongHaul # Y02476 or Thule Range # TH9057. As for the racks themselves, I would go with the Yakima LongHaul RV Bike Rack # Y02476.
