Note: This dual-arm rack reduces the need for a bike frame adapter bar (sold separately) to mount a children's, women's, or alternative frame bicycle. However, to mount certain bikes or to keep your bike level on the rack, a bike adapter bar may be required. Most step-through bikes, dual-suspension bikes, and small children's bikes will require a bike adapter bar.

The Yakima FullTilt is a premium, 5-bike rack packed full of user-friendly perks. The rack has dual arms that offer excellent bike support and fully adjustable anti-sway cradles with ZipStrip ratcheting cradle straps for quick and easy bike loading. The mast tilts away from your vehicle for cargo area access. A built-in cable lock secures your bikes to the rack. And installation is tool free with an integrated anti-rattle device that locks the rack to your vehicle.

Folding Dual Support Arms

Yakima FullTilt dual support arms

The FullTilt's dual arms offer excellent bike support. Your bike's top tubes rest in grooves on the padded arms. The grooves cup your bike frames, and the TPE padding absorbs road shock and minimizes vibrations.

Pull the red TriggerFinger control lever on top of the mast to lower the arms for storage or parking clearance. When you're ready to load bikes again, simply lift the arms back up until they lock into place with an audible click.

Adjustable Anti-Sway Cradles

Yakima FullTilt anti-sway cradles 3-point support

The FullTilt has anti-sway cradles that grip your bike frame at 3 different points - twice along the top bar and once along a downward bar, such as a seat post. This third point of contact helps to prevent sway and bike-to-bike contact.

Yakima FullTilt ratcheting ZipStrips

Ratcheting ZipStrips let you quickly and easily secure your bikes in the cradles. These straps require none of the tugging and stretching that conventional straps require. Simply insert the strap into the buckles on the cradle, and push it down until it's snug around your bike frame. The ZipStrips can be removed quickly by pressing the release levers on the sides of each anti-sway cradle.

Yakima FullTilt adjustable anti-sway cradles

You can adjust the cradles by sliding them along notched tracks in the bottoms of the arms. This allows you to optimize the spacing between your bikes on the rack. Simply lift the cradle's control lever to move it, then lower the lever to lock the cradle into position.

Tool-Free Hitch Connection with SpeedKnob

Yakima FullTilt locking SpeedKnob

The FullTilt has an integrated SpeedKnob and AutoPin that allows tool-free installation. The knob controls an anti-rattle wedge on the shank. Simply turn the knob to tighten the bike rack shank in your hitch receiver. This not only secures the rack to your vehicle, but also reduces noise and movement of the rack in your hitch. The rack works with both 1-1/4" and 2" hitches. To use it in a 1-1/4" hitch, simply remove the red adapter and wedge extension with the included Allen key.

The AutoPin is the rack's spring-loaded hitch pin that pops into place when it enters the side pin hole of your hitch.

Yakima FullTilt AutoPin spring-loaded hitch pin

A handy thumb-release button disengages the AutoPin so you can easily slide the rack out of your hitch. And, since the AutoPin is part of the rack, you won't lose it.

Easy Access to Rear Cargo Area

Yakima FullTilt rear cargo access

The FullTilt's mast tilts so you won't need to remove the rack for rear hatch clearance. And the UpperHand control lever is conveniently located near the top of the mast so you won't need to bend over to reach a lever or pin at the base of the rack.

Complete Security for Bikes and Rack

The FullTilt includes an integrated cable lock that can be threaded through all 4 bikes and locked to the end of the right rack arm with a Same Key System (SKS) cylinder. The braided steel cable is 1/4" thick, and it is coated with vinyl to prevent scratches and scuff marks on your bike frames. When not in use, the cable stores in the rack arm.

Yakima FullTilt locking SpeedKnob

The SpeedKnob also includes a SKS lock cylinder, operated by the same key that opens the cable lock. This lock prevents a would-be thief from being able to loosen the knob and remove the rack from your hitch.

SKS cylinders can be swapped out if you own other Yakima products and want to use the same key to lock them all.

Compact Storage

Yakima FullTilt fold flat storage

The FullTilt easily folds flat for compact storage. Use the TriggerFinger control lever to fold the arms down. Then use the UpperHand lever to fold up the shank.

Yakima FullTilt built-in bottle opener

And the FullTilt includes a built-in, machined-steel bottle opener in case your beverage of choice doesn't have a twist-off cap.

Yakima FullTilt 5 Bike Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting - Y02463

Average Customer Rating:  4.7 out of 5 stars   (18 Customer Reviews)

Hitch-mounted rack carries 5 bikes on folding arms with easy-to-adjust anti-sway cradles. ZipStrip ratcheting straps quickly secure bikes to cradles. Rack tilts for cargo area access. Tool-free installation with locking knob. Includes cable lock.

- Y02463

So far so good. Easy to install on my 2in hitch, looks great and feels secure. I will need to but a few adapter bars for the family bikes but I'd recommend this one for sure. The adjustable locks are very convenient and the removable straps make it easy to slide bikes on and off the rack.

- Y02463

The Y02463 is a great bike rack. I was pleasantly surprised that the rack was already put together and ready to use straight out of the box. After trying a couple of different loading configurations, I was able to easily fit all five of our bikes on the rack. The rack is sturdy even when fully loaded. No wobbling whatsoever. The only thing I would change is make the bike locking cable longer. It is barely long enough to lockdown the bikes putting stress on the cable and locking mechanism.

- Y02463

Now, let's be honest... squeezing 5 bikes onto a hitch rack is not for the faint of heart. However, this rack does a pretty good job of it. I had to spend some time figuring out which bike needed to go where because the different frame geometries and handle bar types made things more complicated. Once I figured that out I wrote down the order of operations on a sheet of paper and tucked it in the glove box. That has made subsequent loadings easier. The rack is solid when installed and the bikes really don't jostle around much at all. Drawbacks? The integrated cable lock is useless with 5 bikes - it just isn't long enough. It works well for three bikes on the rack. This rack is a beast weight-wise, but given the load it'll carry, I guess that is to be expected.

- Y02463

This is my second purchase from etrailer.com, first one being a set of crossbars for my SUV. I came back because of the level of service and professionalism in the reps that I worked with. They provide quick, knowledgeable and friendly service. The Yakima FullTilt 5 arrived within a week of my order placement and everything was pretty much assembled and ready to go! It took me about 10-15 minutes to install, but only because I spent about 10 minutes reading the instructions to make sure I didn't miss anything. The bike rack literally just needs to be unpackaged, and connected to your hitch. I installed it easily and was on the road. Depending on your bike, you may need to buy a tube adaptor (which I did) in order for your bike to fit properly on the rack. I purchased the Yakima Top tube adapter. I forgot to take pictures but will need to do that next time and update this post. You can't go wrong with the rack and etrailer.com!

Review from a similar FullTilt in Hitch Bike Racks

This took a little bit of time to set up but once done, it carries well - little to no sway. I did under estimate the height once it was on my Expedition since I am only 5 foot tall! I can literally walk under it! Regardless I can easily lift onto and off of the rack. I don't leave it on my truck all the time and so having a second person to help reinstall it on the hitch is helpful but not a requirement. I can do it by myself. I am a 60 year old female in average shape. Highly recommend this carrier.

I have had this bike carrier for a year now and I still LOVE it! It is easy to take on and off my vehicle as well as getting bikes on and off the carrier. Since I drive an Expedition, it is still a bit high for 5 ft 2 of me, but manageable! You just have to learn how to lift the bike over your head safely. I have also learned faster ways to install by myself and have it down to less than 5 minutes start to finish. There is still little to no sway of the bike once on. Highly recommend for any one!

Review from a similar FullTilt in Hitch Bike Racks

If you have a new OUTBACK, Subaru has gone out of their way making your job easy carrying equipment, The roof rack is poorly designed and the OEM etrailer receiver is very shallow... MOST bike carriers DO NO fit. I had a Swagman , from etrailer from our RAV4. IT did not fit the shallow receiver. This is the only one I know of that will fit the shallow receivers. Madison was very helpful in the selection of the bike rack and the rack arrived quickly. It fits well as it has an expansion fitting to tighten the fitting in the receiver. etrailer is always helpful and I purchase all car/trailer/sport products fro from for their knowledge and customer service.

Still working well

Review from a similar FullTilt in Hitch Bike Racks

So I am someone who really likes to look at products and compare and compare some more, before I make a purchase. So, I really put some effort into finding the right product for our family. And I can say that this is one of those that hit a home run with us! This rack is incredibly easy to use and the fold flat ability for storage was the tipping point for the perfect rack for our family. The ease of use is incredible, I think that hardest part is holding the weight of it up while inserting into the trailer hitch hole and that's really not hard at all. You can load/unload bikes fast and easy, the rubber coated arms help keep your bikes from getting scratched. The quick click clamps work great and are adjustable on a slider to accommodate bikes of varying widths. Only thing I think that could use improvement with this is, I would like the integrated/included bike lock cable to be a bit longer and a little thicker but that's just nit picking. It's really a great bike rack that is extremely easy to use, install, remove, and store almost flat when not in use.

Review from a similar FullTilt in Hitch Bike Racks

I researched for about a week. I wanted to get the best fit, quality and value for my purpose. I ended up deciding between the Yakima and the Thule. Thule seemed the more popular choice but when comparing the two models that had the same features, the Yakima seemed a better value at almost $100 less. The Sales lady on the phone was very helpful and the product was shipped and arrived as promised. I was able to install the bike rack easily and used it the first weekend. Very happy with my choice and with etrailer.com. Thanks.

Review from a similar FullTilt in Hitch Bike Racks

Shipping was fast. The rack was easy to set up, including the zip ties. It has some nice features and some I would change. When inserting the rack into the hitch receiver, there is only one peg that extends through the receiver hole. I was thinking that there should be two, one on each side for more stability. The rack was easy to insert into the receiver hitch. The only issue I see is that when tightening the rack into the hitch receiver, the instructions tell you 10 foot pounds of tork. How can one possibly know that by tightening by hand. I tightened the rack inside the hitch to what I thought was enough. It says not to over tighten. The rack was securely inside but there was a little more wobble, not much mind you, but a little more than I expected. I tested it out with my 2019 Trek Marlin 7 and it fit nicely. The bike was held securely without any wobble, it was the rack itself which had a little wobble to it. I wish it came with more than one tie down strap to secure the wheel for other bikes. Overall, I am pleased with the rack and recommend it.

  • Recommended Bike Rack to Carry 4 or 5 Bikes on 2018 BMW X5 With Class II Hitch
Before getting into specific racks I wanted to mention that if you are using a hitch adapter, they will decrease the tongue weight capacity of your hitch by 50 percent. So if you were using an adapter such as # C45785 that made your Class II 1-1/4" hitch receiver a 2" receiver and you had a 300 lb tongue weight capacity, the adapter would reduce the capacity to 150 lbs, which would be the maximum weight your bike racks and bikes could weigh; there are great racks for a Class II hitch that...

When you have bikes loaded overall height will increase based on the diameter of the bikes' top tubes. For instance, if you loaded a bike with a 2-inch top tube, then the top of that frame tube would be approximately 43-inches above the hitch pin hole. Please note that your vehicle, a 2016 Toyota Corolla, cannot accept...

  • Recommended Hitch Mounted Five Bike Carrier
The Yakima Doubledown Ace 5 carrier is being phased out, but we do have a couple of great Yakima 5-bike carriers that might work for you. As products become available we make every effort to add them to our website. I recommend the Yakima FullTilt 5-Bike Rack, part # Y02463. This rack holds 5 bikes and has a cable lock that secures the bikes to the carrier. This is a tilting rack that allows you access to the rear cargo area of your vehicle when unloaded. This will fit both 1-1/4 and...

  • How to Carry 5 Bikes with Alternative Frames on a 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe
The main factor to consider when deciding if a bike rack will work on your vehicle is the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the outer edge of the bumper. You can then compare that to the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the bike rack. This distance on the Yakima FullTilt 5 Bike Rack part # Y02463 is 10" which should be more than enough for you 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe but you may choose to just do a quick measurement to be sure. The problem...

  • Distance From Nissan Armada to End of Yakima FullTilt and Kuat NV Bike Racks
I can help find the distance from your Nissan Armada to the farthest end of the bike racks you referenced though as of January 2018 we have not had a chance to test these racks with an Armada. To find out if either rack will work for you, just measure from the center of the hitch pin hole on your Armada to your garage door so you know the amount of room you have to work with. The Yakima FullTilt 5-bike rack # Y02463 is 14 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the...

  • Replacement Lock Cores for Yakima Bike Rack
Since you lost the keys to your locks on a Yakima bike rack like the FullTilt # Y02463 and don't know the key number, what you will actually need to do is replace the lock cores. So long as your rack is currently unlocked, you can simply swap out your rack's lock cores with the Yakima Same Key System (SKS) Lock Cores (QTY 2) # Y07202. If they are locked you'll need to have a locksmith drill them out. I have added a link to a video review for you to check out as well.

  • Is There An Adapter For Kids Bikes I Can Use On The Yakima Highroad?
We do have racks that will accommodate for kids bikes but there is no adapter that you can use with the Yakima Highroad # Y02114. The Inno Tire Hold II Roof Bike Rack # INA389 will clamp onto your bed bars just like the Highroad but the Inno Tire Hold II has adjustments for the wheel cradles that will do well with a kids bike! I've included a video to show you how!

  • Recommendation for a 5 bike Rack Used With 4 Adult Bikes and 1 Kids Bike
To come right out and answer the most important question first, both the Yakima Ridgeback # Y02459 and Thule Apex XT-5 # TH9026XT are going to provide the same spacing for the bikes. Both racks have 28" long arms and the spacing is going to break down the same on both. With that being said, you will find some noticeable differences between these 2 racks. The Thule Apex XT-5 is going to be Thule's top end hanging rack for 5 bikes, where the Ridgeback is going to be probably a half a...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch and 5-Bike Rack for 2019 Honda Odyssey
Starting with the trailer hitch I recommend going with the etrailer.com Trailer Hitch Receiver # E98855. I like this hitch for your particular application because the receiver won't be tucked too far behind the rear bumper to cause any interference issues between it and a mounted rack. Its matte black finish also adds a unique rugged look that isn't present on other options. It has a 525 pound tongue weight capacity and will be a simple bolt-on installation. I have attached an installation...
