Note: This dual-arm rack reduces the need for a bike frame adapter bar (sold separately) to mount a children's, women's, or alternative frame bicycle. However, to mount certain bikes or to keep your bike level on the rack, a bike adapter bar may be required. Most step-through bikes, dual-suspension bikes, and small children's bikes will require a bike adapter bar.

The Yakima FullTilt is a premium, 5-bike rack packed full of user-friendly perks. The rack has dual arms that offer excellent bike support and fully adjustable anti-sway cradles with ZipStrip ratcheting cradle straps for quick and easy bike loading. The mast tilts away from your vehicle for cargo area access. A built-in cable lock secures your bikes to the rack. And installation is tool free with an integrated anti-rattle device that locks the rack to your vehicle.

Folding Dual Support Arms

Yakima FullTilt dual support arms

The FullTilt's dual arms offer excellent bike support. Your bike's top tubes rest in grooves on the padded arms. The grooves cup your bike frames, and the TPE padding absorbs road shock and minimizes vibrations.

Pull the red TriggerFinger control lever on top of the mast to lower the arms for storage or parking clearance. When you're ready to load bikes again, simply lift the arms back up until they lock into place with an audible click.

Adjustable Anti-Sway Cradles

Yakima FullTilt anti-sway cradles 3-point support

The FullTilt has anti-sway cradles that grip your bike frame at 3 different points - twice along the top bar and once along a downward bar, such as a seat post. This third point of contact helps to prevent sway and bike-to-bike contact.

Yakima FullTilt ratcheting ZipStrips

Ratcheting ZipStrips let you quickly and easily secure your bikes in the cradles. These straps require none of the tugging and stretching that conventional straps require. Simply insert the strap into the buckles on the cradle, and push it down until it's snug around your bike frame. The ZipStrips can be removed quickly by pressing the release levers on the sides of each anti-sway cradle.

Yakima FullTilt adjustable anti-sway cradles

You can adjust the cradles by sliding them along notched tracks in the bottoms of the arms. This allows you to optimize the spacing between your bikes on the rack. Simply lift the cradle's control lever to move it, then lower the lever to lock the cradle into position.

Tool-Free Hitch Connection with SpeedKnob

Yakima FullTilt locking SpeedKnob

The FullTilt has an integrated SpeedKnob and AutoPin that allows tool-free installation. The knob controls an anti-rattle wedge on the shank. Simply turn the knob to tighten the bike rack shank in your hitch receiver. This not only secures the rack to your vehicle, but also reduces noise and movement of the rack in your hitch. The rack works with both 1-1/4" and 2" hitches. To use it in a 1-1/4" hitch, simply remove the red adapter and wedge extension with the included Allen key.

The AutoPin is the rack's spring-loaded hitch pin that pops into place when it enters the side pin hole of your hitch.

Yakima FullTilt AutoPin spring-loaded hitch pin

A handy thumb-release button disengages the AutoPin so you can easily slide the rack out of your hitch. And, since the AutoPin is part of the rack, you won't lose it.

Easy Access to Rear Cargo Area

Yakima FullTilt rear cargo access

The FullTilt's mast tilts so you won't need to remove the rack for rear hatch clearance. And the UpperHand control lever is conveniently located near the top of the mast so you won't need to bend over to reach a lever or pin at the base of the rack.

Complete Security for Bikes and Rack

The FullTilt includes an integrated cable lock that can be threaded through all 4 bikes and locked to the end of the right rack arm with a Same Key System (SKS) cylinder. The braided steel cable is 1/4" thick, and it is coated with vinyl to prevent scratches and scuff marks on your bike frames. When not in use, the cable stores in the rack arm.

Yakima FullTilt locking SpeedKnob

The SpeedKnob also includes a SKS lock cylinder, operated by the same key that opens the cable lock. This lock prevents a would-be thief from being able to loosen the knob and remove the rack from your hitch.

SKS cylinders can be swapped out if you own other Yakima products and want to use the same key to lock them all.

Compact Storage

Yakima FullTilt fold flat storage

The FullTilt easily folds flat for compact storage. Use the TriggerFinger control lever to fold the arms down. Then use the UpperHand lever to fold up the shank.

Yakima FullTilt built-in bottle opener

And the FullTilt includes a built-in, machined-steel bottle opener in case your beverage of choice doesn't have a twist-off cap.

Video Transcript for Yakima FullTilt Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Subaru Forester

Today on our 2015 Subaru Forester we're going to do a test fit of the Yakima FullTilt. This is a folding and tilting four bike rack. It's been designed for use with inch and quarter or two inch hitches. Part Number on it Y02462. If you need an extra cradle set we do have this available in a five bike that Part Number is Y02463. To begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of the rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll need to slide it in far enough so that the small silver pin appears on our hitch pin hole.

We'll then come right here to rear. Were going to turn the red triangle shaped knob. This engages the anti-rattle device and it will further secure the rack to our vehicle. It's a good idea to lift up and down on it and move it side to side a little bit. This will help us ensure we get all the play out of there that's possible.

As you can see now weve got no movement in our connection point. Weve got a good solid ride ahead for our bike. Lets go over some clearance measurements now. We'll start with ground clearance. It looks like we're going have about 10-1/2 inches worth. At its closet point to the rear of our vehicle our rack's going to be about 3 inches away.

Overall we've added about 8-3/4 of an inch to the length of the Subaru. Right here on the rear of the rack we got a black lever. That's going to allow us to tilt this out and away from our vehicle. As you can see that gives us all the room we need to get into that cargo area. Well now lift back up on the mast until that lever goes into its original position. We can then pull the red lever located here at the top.

That allows us to swing out the dual cradle arms. With the arms in the extended position let's get another measurement; looks like weve now added about 35 inches to the length of the Forester. To remove our zip strips we're going to pinch the two grey levers together and pull them right out. We can then grab our bike, place it up into the rack, and then we'll go through and secure it with our strips. Just like that we're loaded up and ready to hit the road. Now that we've been able to see how the Yakima FullTilt fits onto and works with our 2015 Subaru Forester let's take a look at how that same rack performed when they had it out on the test course. Here on our test course we'll start by going through the shalom. This is going to show us the side to side action. This simulates turning corners or evasively manoeuvring. Once we get to the alternating speed bumps well see the twisting action. This will simulate hitting a curb or a pothole or driving over uneven pavement. Once we get to the full speed bumps we'll see the up and down action. This will be just like driving in and out of a parking lot, parking garage or driveway. .

This is my second purchase from etrailer.com, first one being a set of crossbars for my SUV. I came back because of the level of service and professionalism in the reps that I worked with. They provide quick, knowledgeable and friendly service. The Yakima FullTilt 5 arrived within a week of my order placement and everything was pretty much assembled and ready to go! It took me about 10-15 minutes to install, but only because I spent about 10 minutes reading the instructions to make sure I didn't miss anything. The bike rack literally just needs to be unpackaged, and connected to your hitch. I installed it easily and was on the road. Depending on your bike, you may need to buy a tube adaptor (which I did) in order for your bike to fit properly on the rack. I purchased the Yakima Top tube adapter. I forgot to take pictures but will need to do that next time and update this post. You can't go wrong with the rack and etrailer.com! 262874

Now, let's be honest... squeezing 5 bikes onto a hitch rack is not for the faint of heart. However, this rack does a pretty good job of it. I had to spend some time figuring out which bike needed to go where because the different frame geometries and handle bar types made things more complicated. Once I figured that out I wrote down the order of operations on a sheet of paper and tucked it in the glove box. That has made subsequent loadings easier. The rack is solid when installed and the bikes really don't jostle around much at all. Drawbacks? The integrated cable lock is useless with 5 bikes - it just isn't long enough. It works well for three bikes on the rack. This rack is a beast weight-wise, but given the load it'll carry, I guess that is to be expected. 664171

Review from a similar Yakima FullTilt in Hitch Bike Racks

So I am someone who really likes to look at products and compare and compare some more, before I make a purchase. So, I really put some effort into finding the right product for our family. And I can say that this is one of those that hit a home run with us! This rack is incredibly easy to use and the fold flat ability for storage was the tipping point for the perfect rack for our family. The ease of use is incredible, I think that hardest part is holding the weight of it up while inserting into the trailer hitch hole and that's really not hard at all. You can load/unload bikes fast and easy, the rubber coated arms help keep your bikes from getting scratched. The quick click clamps work great and are adjustable on a slider to accommodate bikes of varying widths. Only thing I think that could use improvement with this is, I would like the integrated/included bike lock cable to be a bit longer and a little thicker but that's just nit picking. It's really a great bike rack that is extremely easy to use, install, remove, and store almost flat when not in use. 585664

Review from a similar Yakima FullTilt in Hitch Bike Racks

This took a little bit of time to set up but once done, it carries well - little to no sway. I did under estimate the height once it was on my Expedition since I am only 5 foot tall! I can literally walk under it! Regardless I can easily lift onto and off of the rack. I don't leave it on my truck all the time and so having a second person to help reinstall it on the hitch is helpful but not a requirement. I can do it by myself. I am a 60 year old female in average shape. Highly recommend this carrier. 546115

Review from a similar Yakima FullTilt in Hitch Bike Racks

If you have a new OUTBACK, Subaru has gone out of their way making your job easy carrying equipment, The roof rack is poorly designed and the OEM etrailer receiver is very shallow... MOST bike carriers DO NO fit. I had a Swagman , from etrailer from our RAV4. IT did not fit the shallow receiver. This is the only one I know of that will fit the shallow receivers. Madison was very helpful in the selection of the bike rack and the rack arrived quickly. It fits well as it has an expansion fitting to tighten the fitting in the receiver. etrailer is always helpful and I purchase all car/trailer/sport products fro from for their knowledge and customer service. 253739

Review from a similar Yakima FullTilt in Hitch Bike Racks

Shipping was fast. The rack was easy to set up, including the zip ties. It has some nice features and some I would change. When inserting the rack into the hitch receiver, there is only one peg that extends through the receiver hole. I was thinking that there should be two, one on each side for more stability. The rack was easy to insert into the receiver hitch. The only issue I see is that when tightening the rack into the hitch receiver, the instructions tell you 10 foot pounds of tork. How can one possibly know that by tightening by hand. I tightened the rack inside the hitch to what I thought was enough. It says not to over tighten. The rack was securely inside but there was a little more wobble, not much mind you, but a little more than I expected. I tested it out with my 2019 Trek Marlin 7 and it fit nicely. The bike was held securely without any wobble, it was the rack itself which had a little wobble to it. I wish it came with more than one tie down strap to secure the wheel for other bikes. Overall, I am pleased with the rack and recommend it. 552788

Review from a similar Yakima FullTilt in Hitch Bike Racks

I researched for about a week. I wanted to get the best fit, quality and value for my purpose. I ended up deciding between the Yakima and the Thule. Thule seemed the more popular choice but when comparing the two models that had the same features, the Yakima seemed a better value at almost $100 less. The Sales lady on the phone was very helpful and the product was shipped and arrived as promised. I was able to install the bike rack easily and used it the first weekend. Very happy with my choice and with etrailer.com. Thanks. 152675

  • 5-Bike Hitch Rack with Capacity for More Than 150-lbs
  • The Yakima FullTilt 5 Bike Rack # Y02463 does have a 150-lb total bike weight limit which is not quite enough for your 5 bikes' combined weight of about 167-lbs. Most hitch racks top out at this same 150-lbs. But the Curt Premium 5 Bike Rack # C18065 stands apart with its 225-lb total weight capacity. The Curt Premium 5 features dual folding arms that taper, which lets them fit more types and sizes of bike frames, reducing the need for adapter bars like # UB01. And the mast tilts for...

I like this hitch for your particular application because the receiver won't be tucked too far behind the rear bumper to cause any interference issues between it and a mounted rack. • Recommended Bike Rack to Carry 4 or 5 Bikes on 2018 BMW X5 With Class II Hitch
  • Before getting into specific racks I wanted to mention that if you are using a hitch adapter, they will decrease the tongue weight capacity of your hitch by 50 percent. So if you were using an adapter such as # C45785 that made your Class II 1-1/4" hitch receiver a 2" receiver and you had a 300 lb tongue weight capacity, the adapter would reduce the capacity to 150 lbs, which would be the maximum weight your bike racks and bikes could weigh; there are great racks for a Class II hitch that...

Probably the largest difference, which doesn't sound like much, is the usable length of the arms. The RidgeBack has 28 inches of usable space on the arms and the FullTilt has 29 inches. • Draw-Tite and Hidden Hitch brands are sister companies and their Class III hitches that fit your 2012 Honda Odyssey, parts # 75270 and 87479, are essentially identical apart from branding. Both of these 2-inches hitches offer a substantial tongue weight (TW) rating of 675-lbs, nearly double that of the Curt # C13068 which is rated for 350-lbs of TW. These ratings are based on not just the number of mounting holes. By the way, Curt # C13068 has 5 mounting holes while Hidden Hitch 87479 uses...

  • With the Yakima FullTilt 5-Bike Hitch Rack # Y02463 the center of the rack's hitch pin hole will be 14-inches from the back of the upright mast. The pin hole will be 10-inches from the foot of the carrier. This bike rack will fit into either a 1-1/4-inch Class II hitch or a 2-inch Class III type.

  • 5 Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2013 Subaru Outback Wagon With Curt Hitch
  • I checked your order notes and you installed the Curt Hitch part # 13390 on your 2013 Subaru Outback Wagon which can carry a 5 bike rack. You should note that Curt requires the use of a stabilizer strap like part # 18050 with this hitch when carrying a non-supported load like a bike rack. I recommend the Yakima FullTilt 5-Bike Rack, part # Y02463. This rack holds 5 bikes and has a cable lock that secures the bikes to the carrier. This is a tilting rack that allows you access to the...

  • Are Vehicles with 1-1/4 Inch Hitches Limited to Only Carrying Two Bikes with a Yakima FullTilt 5
  • If you have a Class I 1-1/4 inch hitch on your 2012 Chevy Equinox then you would only be able to carry two bikes with this Yakima FullTilt 5 Bike Hitch Mounted Folding Rack # Y02463. If you have a Class II 1-1/4 inch hitch on your vehicle you would not be limited to only 2 bikes for the rack. I did some checking and all of the hitches we sell for your vehicle are Class II, so most likely you have a Class II hitch. I also attached an FAQ article on hitch classifications for you to check...

  • Bike Rack Solution That Allows Full Access to Rear Door of Vehicle
  • Hanging style bike racks can't tilt with bikes loaded since that would brake the frame cradles but I believe I have a solution that would work well. For that I recommend the Yakima FullSwing part # Y02465 which allows you to swing the bike rack out and away from the rear of the vehicle with bikes loaded to give you full access to the rear of it. I attached a review video for this rack for you to check out as well. If you plan on carrying any womens or alternative framed bikes without...

  • Height from Hitch Pin Hole to Top of Arms on Yakima FullTilt 5 Hitch Bike Rack Y02463
  • On the Yakima FullTilt 5 Hitch Bike Rack # Y02463 the vertical distance from the hitch pin hole up to the top of the arms is 41-inches according to my contact at Yakima. When you have bikes loaded overall height will increase based on the diameter of the bikes' top tubes. For instance, if you loaded a bike with a 2-inch top tube, then the top of that frame tube would be approximately 43-inches above the hitch pin hole. Please note that your vehicle, a 2016 Toyota Corolla, cannot accept...

  • Trouble Securing Yakima FullTilt 5-Bike Rack to OEM Hitch on 2017 Honda Pilot
  • The Yakima FullTilt 5 Bike Rack - Tilting # Y02463 referenced in your question has an integrated AutoPin hitch pin that should pop into place when it enters the side pin hole of your trailer hitch. A second set of holes on the trailer hitch should not be needed. Once the pin pops into place, you will turn the knob at the other end of the rack to tighten the bike rack shank in the hitch receiver. If the hitch pin hole is too close to the receiver opening to properly secure the bike rack's...

  • Recommendation for a 5-Bike Rack for a 2013 Volvo XC90
  • The Yakima DoubleDown Ace 5 bike rack is an older rack which we no longer offer because the Ace series has basically been discontinued. What it comes down to in the current line up is the RidgeBack 5 # Y02459 and the FullTilt 5 # Y02463. When it comes down to it I would go with the RidgeBack # Y02459 because you aren't giving up a whole lot and you are saving a lot of money. The FullTilt has arms that are closer together than the RidgeBack which makes it compatible with slightly more...

  • Yakima Bike Rack and HitchSki Rack Recommendation
  • I wish I could safely recommend the Yakima HitchSki Snowboard and Ski Carrier # Y02418 for your Allen 5 bike rack. But the only way this product would work for you would be to upgrade your current bike rack to one that it has been confirmed to fit like the Yakima FullTilt 5-Bike Rack part # Y02463. There is a chance the HitchSki would fit your current bike rack but since Yakima won't confirm the fit I can't safely recommend you use it on your rack since it would void the warranty. I...
