Notes:
The RV Rider platform-style hitch bike rack makes it simple to carry 2 electric bikes on the rear of your motorhome, fifth wheel, or flat-towed vehicle. This rack is easy to use, and it features padded clamps and adjustable wheel hoops, so you can quickly load and unload your bikes. A locking hitch pin with an anti-rattle system tightens the rack's shank to your hitch receiver to prevent it from rattling around inside the tube.
Locking, Padded Clamps
Constructed of rugged plastic, the RV Rider uses padded clamps with hand knobs to secure your bikes by the frame or seat post. The clamps are easily adjusted along the vertical tubing and lock securely in place. Each clamp functions independently, which means you can position them to carry bikes of different heights.
If you are transporting a carbon fiber bike, do not use the clamp on the frame. Instead, attach the clamp to the seat post to prevent damaging the frame.
Adjustable Wheel Hoops
The wheel hoops accommodate bicycles with wheelbases up to 60" by sliding along the horizontal arms. They secure in place with easy-to-use hand knobs, and ratchet straps fasten the wheels to the hoops. These universal wheel hoops will fit standard and fat tires up to 5" wide.
Folding, Tilting Design
The rack tilts up and down, without bikes loaded, for storage and access to your rear cargo area. To lower the rack, remove the pin, hand knob, and carriage bolt, then tilt the rack down.
To raise the rack, remove the hand knob and carriage bolt, then fold the rack up and reinsert the hardware. After, you can use the hook and loop strap (similar to Velcro) on the frame clamp and connect it to the wheel holder, which helps secure the mast in place.
Easy Installation with Locking Hitch Pin
The RV Rider easily installs in the hitch with the locking hitch pin. Just slide the shank into your receiver, insert the hitch pin, and attach the lock pod. The locking pin works as an anti-wobble device to eliminate sway and rattle in the receiver. It also comes with a hitch tightener to help reduce vertical wobble by pressing the shank against the receiver. It attaches to the top or bottom of the flange on your receiver using a U-bolt and clamp bar.
Complete Security for Bikes and Rack
The RV Rider comes with locks for both the rack and your bikes to deter theft. The lock pod on the hitch pin, lock cores in the frame clamps, and the 8' long security cable lock are conveniently keyed alike.

Bring your electric bikes to the campsite so you can motor around the trails. Works with motorhomes, 5th wheel trailers, and flat-towed vehicles. Fits 2 standard or fat tire e-bikes. Anti-rattle hitch pin and hitch tightener reduce rack movement.I purchased this rack to transport 2 e-bikes behind my 32ft class-C motorhome. The bike rack was easy to assemble and very professionally engineered. The rack holds the bikes secured with locking devices. The bikes and rack have no play or movement when all secure points are tightened. Rack and bikes do not block license plate or tail lights even when I put the cover on the Lectric 2.0 bikes. The photos show the rack attached to my Nissan Titan XD. This is an amazing bike rack.
I have had several name brand bike racks and the Hollywood Racks RV Rider is by far the best. The rack is very sturdy and lite weight. It was easy to assemble with very good instructions. The rack fits our fat tire e-bikes and my SUV perfectly. The rack is very easy to adjust and while it sits high as to not drag the bikes when exiting parking lots, loading our 60lb e-bikes is no problem at all with the appropriate nethod, one wheel at a time. It is also possible to lean the rack to access the rear hatch on my SUV. The main reason for purchasing the rack is it is certified to mount behind a motorhome or on an SUV while being flat towed. There is literally no movement or sway of the rack behind the SUV. Very happy with this rack.
I purposely delayed submitting a review until we had a chance to really test it. We have just arrived in New England from GA and the bike rack has performed well. The interstates had many bumps along the way but our 2 bikes (1 ebike 50lbs/1 mountain bike 35lbs) remained secure on the back of our RV at 65 mph. I would rate 4.5 stars if possible, our issue was one of the locks was stubborn and I had to spray it with some lubricant. We also had one of the wheel strap cushions fall off and it took some time to find it since it is all black. I have orange duct tape on them now and spray painted the nuts & washers that are removed when using the rack. Very happy with our purchase.
We are very pleased with our Hollywood bike rack. It is very sturdy excellent quality. We use it on our 5th wheel, Nissan Rogue & can use it on Ford F-250. We are very pleased with it.
As a child I never had an erector set so as an adult I’m making up for it with these “some assembly required” projects. I recently purchased an ebike and planned to transport it on the back of my Durango that I tow behind my motor home. I soon discovered not all bike racks are created equal and having a bike rack capable of handling the weight of an ebike is only one part of the challenge. Part 2 of the challenge is finding a rack designed to be hitched to a vehicle being towed behind a motor home because of the unique forces (stresses) present in this situation. Hollywood Rack’s RV Rider is specifically designed for my scenario. However, due to their popularity and the other supply chain issues in today’s culture, the RV Rider is frequently “sold out”. I placed an order through etrailer.com and after a couple of months I was notified the Hollywood Racks RV Riders were once again in stock and mine was being shipped. The packaging is heavy duty and the assembly instructions are easy to understand. Hollywood Racks has an instructional video. etrailer.com also has a review video on this product that explains the functionality. Fairly straightforward to assemble. I did not have any problems but I did watch both the Hollywood and etrailer.com videos while I was waiting for my shipment to arrive. It appears to be very well built. I can’t completely open my rear hatch unless I adjust my handle bars, but I can open the rear hatch quite a bit if I really need to access anything. Although leaning the rack back with two bikes on it would of course be easier with two people, I made the maneuver several times by myself. So two people are not required to lean it back. All in all, I’m please with this purchase and I expect this rack will perform very well for me. Time will tell, but I don’t see any weaknesses in its design or quality. Hint: applying a little car wax on the center support will help the clamps slide up and down easier.
I bought this rack early in the spring and finally installed it on our motorhome for our first trip with our new e-bikes last week. I am impressed with how solid the rack is and how it holds the bikes in place - they didn't move! No wiggling or swaying and after several hundred miles, the bikes still look brand new! I'm particularly grateful for all the security features and am comfortable that our new bikes won't be subject to theft.
I usually get lost in the instructions and end up breaking something when I install anything. Not this time! I took my time and followed the directions easily and apparently did everything right. It all went together perfectly.
Loading the bikes was easy (again following the instructions carefully).
I highly recommend this bike rack!
Assembly of the the Hollywood rack very easy, and it appears to provide a heavy duty support solution for two fat tire bikes. Missing one bolt and waiting on etrailer to send me a new bolt. One problem with mounting two fat tire bikes on this rack is that the car, truck, RV tail lights are not very visible; especially if you put a cover on the bikes. Hollywood does not have a light kit to install on this rack. etrailer recommended a light kit but I needed to design a method of mounting the lights. I used some 1-1/2 in 16 gauge square tube to mount the lights and attach to the rack. This light bar can be easily removed while mounting the bikes. I don't see why Hollywood doesn't design a solution for this problem.
It took a while to assemble the bike rack. I was impressed to see that it came with a locking hitch pin, locks on the post clamps and a cable lock. It carried our e-bikes just like it said it would. Very happy with this bike carrier.
It’s a great option for our heavy Rad Rover 6 Plus fat tire bikes on the rear of our class A motorhome. Very good for bike to bike adjustments. The dual adjustable lock-down clamps work very well. They even work for our step-thru models by attaching to the seat posts. No extra bar needed. My only issue is with the center post vertical/horizontal screw knob, washer and carriage bolt set. They’re untethered and must be fully removed to swing down the center support arm. While this is a pain (poor design), you must remember to replace the bolt/knob set or you can loose them… Yes, from experience.
I was looking for an "RV-rated" bike rack and this Hollywood rack fit the bill. As I installed it using both the etrailer installation video and the paper instructions, you could tell this is a sturdy rack that will hold up against many miles on the road. Both ebikes fit well in the rack with little to no movement. Looking forward to hitting the road soon and I am confident that this rack will meet all expectations.
The hitch was straight forward in the assembly. Functioned nicely with my two Model Rs from Electric Bike Company, total weight of two bikes is 120 lbs.
I have it on the back of my Jeep Wrangler for flat towing behind the RV.
I use this rack for my fifth wheel. It is very well built and secures my two e-bikes very well. At times lifting the bikes onto the rack can be difficult. Getting the inside bike on is somewhat difficult but can be done with a little work. I like this rack and it works very well on my fifth wheel. It is built very well and I am not worried about it breaking down while traveling. Sorry no pics.
The Hollywood rack is sturdy and secures our ebikes well. I like the clamp and locking system for holding bikes upright. However the clamp arms are always getting in the way when loading/unloading and transferring the heavier inner bike to the back. It’s also difficult to secure the clamps from moving around when the bike rack is folded up. I wish these clamp arms could be folded and stowed better.
Well built. Holds two e-bikes on the back of our fifth wheel excellently, secure, no movements. Comes with a locking pin to secure it into hitch, locks on the bike clamps so the bikes are not easily removed, and a 6 foot cable lock to further secure the bikes to the rack and trailer. All are keyed alike, and the 6' cable lock can be used as a regular bike lock around the campsite or on a ride.
After receiving this item, the directions were that this unit was not to be used with a hitch adapter. This was nowhere to be found in the information online. I double and triple checked it to make sure I did not miss anything. This fact was so important that it was placed on the front page of the booklet and bold, larger print. I was informed that I could return it, but I would have to pick up 1/2 of the substantial shipping fee. When I called etrailer, the rep I talked to was somewhat condescending telling me that in fact it was stated by saying it needed a 2" receiver. I informed her an adapter would give me that and simply putting this info on the website would have prevented me from needlessly paying the return shipping. She said that was not needed. I would recommend that any item a person might buy from etrailer be thoroughly researched before buying. Check the manufacturers website, reviews, etc. The info from etrailer is not complete. I have bought other items in the past that worked fine, but my distrust from this transaction has made me work with other vendors for my needed products.
Great rack for ebikes. Incredibly solid and secure. Once bikes are loaded, they do not move. Very happy with this purchase.
We picked this bike rack because it was rated for ebikes, and supports them on a towed vehicle behind a motorhome. The assembly was easy and putting the bikes on the rack and securing them is easy as well. Great bike rack, highly recommended.
We waited nearly 5 months for this RV Rider rack. We had been using an inexpensive 200 lb rated ebike rack from [superstore] for about a year. However that [superstore] rack was not RV rated as most are not. The inexpensive rack got us through until this Hollywood rack arrived. Man what a difference! This new rack is BEEFY! It is obviously more substantial and I have no fear hanging our expensive ebikes on the back of our 5th wheel camper. We haven't used it on the 5th wheel yet but did on our Tahoe and the bikes were much more stable than with the [superstore] rack. From the integrated wheel straps, locking knobs and locking hitch pin this rack will make the whole bike hauling experience faster and more secure. My wife and I researched the heck out of a suitable rack for our camper and this one was worth waiting for.
Great bike carrier. Carry two 60lb e-bikes, no problem. Wish they would make a ramp for loading the bikes. A little on the pricey side but worth it.
Solid construction and quality. Assembly instructions were easy to read and understand with pictures. Took about 1 hr to assemble. Have H1700 model with upto 5” wide tire holders. Bike lower derailer gear was tight against the tire holder side. Set bike gear to lowest setting and no more hitting.
This rack was easy to assemble, and it suits the fit, form, and purpose for me. The amazing thing is not the rack, but the excellent customer service at etrailer. Stellar customer service. You just don’t see that anymore. Lauren G worked with me from the time I ordered until the time I received my bike rack. It was just like she knew me personally. I will recommend etrailer to anyone looking for a bike rack!
Went together in just less than an hour. Excellent instructions for assembly. More to come after we pick up the bikes.
Good quality. All parts are powder coated. Have two Lectric brand ebikes with baskets front and rear. Was able to fit both bikes on the rack without the baskets rubbing. Bought the rack to use on our Jeep which is towed behind our RV. This is a specified use for this part number. Have only used it on the Jeep so far but it seems to be performing well. The rack seems to be heavy duty. I’m going to add some stick-on taillights because the bikes cover the Jeep taillights.
Extremely well made and very sturdy. I have two ebikes, a lectric 2.0 and a small Jetson which it easily holds. It comes with two small wheel adapters but I needed three total, so I purchased the add on kit. One adapter is used for the back wheel on the lectric but the small wheels on the Jetson needed one for each wheel. I have this on the back of a Ram with a Lance camper and I have no worries about cross country trips. Folds down to get to my back storage and has a cable lock to secure the bikes. The handles for the grips are also keyed to keep them from being unscrewed I hate worrying about items when I come across road construction, but this carrier makes it a worry free trip.
