rv rider

The RV Rider platform-style hitch bike rack makes it simple to carry 2 electric bikes on the rear of your motorhome, fifth wheel, or flat-towed vehicle. This rack is easy to use, and it features padded clamps and adjustable wheel hoops, so you can quickly load and unload your bikes. A locking hitch pin with an anti-rattle system tightens the rack's shank to your hitch receiver to prevent it from rattling around inside the tube.

Locking, Padded Clamps

clamps

Constructed of rugged plastic, the RV Rider uses padded clamps with hand knobs to secure your bikes by the frame or seat post. The clamps are easily adjusted along the vertical tubing and lock securely in place. Each clamp functions independently, which means you can position them to carry bikes of different heights.

If you are transporting a carbon fiber bike, do not use the clamp on the frame. Instead, attach the clamp to the seat post to prevent damaging the frame.

Adjustable Wheel Hoops

wheel hoops

The wheel hoops accommodate bicycles with wheelbases up to 60" by sliding along the horizontal arms. They secure in place with easy-to-use hand knobs, and ratchet straps fasten the wheels to the hoops. These universal wheel hoops will fit standard and fat tires up to 5" wide.

Folding, Tilting Design

tilting

The rack tilts up and down, without bikes loaded, for storage and access to your rear cargo area. To lower the rack, remove the pin, hand knob, and carriage bolt, then tilt the rack down.

folding

To raise the rack, remove the hand knob and carriage bolt, then fold the rack up and reinsert the hardware. After, you can use the hook and loop strap (similar to Velcro) on the frame clamp and connect it to the wheel holder, which helps secure the mast in place.

Easy Installation with Locking Hitch Pin

The RV Rider easily installs in the hitch with the locking hitch pin. Just slide the shank into your receiver, insert the hitch pin, and attach the lock pod. The locking pin works as an anti-wobble device to eliminate sway and rattle in the receiver. It also comes with a hitch tightener to help reduce vertical wobble by pressing the shank against the receiver. It attaches to the top or bottom of the flange on your receiver using a U-bolt and clamp bar.

Complete Security for Bikes and Rack

The RV Rider comes with locks for both the rack and your bikes to deter theft. The lock pod on the hitch pin, lock cores in the frame clamps, and the 8' long security cable lock are conveniently keyed alike.

works great just have to tighten it dow n.

This product is well built but you pay a premium price. I would have expected stainless bolts In strategic places such as where a plastic knob with a captive nut threads on a bolt. My experience is this is the weak point for anything that is subject to the elements. The bolts rust and the plastic knobs break. I gave it a 4 because of the following; missing a minor part, non stainless hardware and crazy high price.

by:

Very nice and heavy duty . My Rad Power bike fat tires have to be forced down in to holders . They fit very snugly which I assume will be ok . This rack clears the spare tire on my 2019 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon JL . Although this is rated to haul E-Bikes on a flat towed vehicle , it was a little pricey

by:

Was delivered when it was expected. Was very professionally boxed and packaged. All parts were included & directions for assembly were clear and accurate.

by:

1. It's a very heavy bike rack but it has to be when carrying 2 60lb. electric 4" tire off road bikes!
2. Sturdy mount into hitch receiver and does not bounce around.
3. Rated for use on the back of a 5th wheel!!!

by:

My wife and I installed the Hollywood Rack a year ago on our Montana 5th wheel RV and could not be happier. I had to fabricate our own hitch to accommodate the rack. We use the bike rack to carry two E-bikes and I don't believe we could have found a better quality rack... the multiple locking arrangements work absolutely wonderful, too. The folks at etrailer.com have also been wonderful to do business with, and always concerned about us getting the service and quality that we expect, which is something we appreciate greatly. I absolutely would recommend etrailer.com to anyone, they are now the folks to whom we look whenever we need parts or new toys for our pride and joy. Thank you!

by:

The Hollywood RV Rack is very well built and is solid on the back of my 5th wheel. I am using it to haul 2 ebikes one standard tire and one fat tire.

by:

2month update: We love our Hollywood RV bike rack!! The 2” hitch fits perfectly for a secure connection. We carry 2 beach bikes on our travels. The rack was easy to install, easy to set up for carrying bikes and easy to fold up when not carrying! The bikes fit snugly on the rack and nothing moves or rattles going down the road. Glad we listened to etrailer advice and purchased upgraded rack designed for use on RV flat tow vehicle! Excellent product!! I did add extra reflector tape to aid in seeing at night when folded up not carrying bikes.

Still loving our Hollywood bike rack!! Just returned from camping and great to bring bikes along. The rack has held up very well and no issues. Highly recommend this rack. We tow a vehicle with our motorhome and the rack is rated to attach to the towed vehicle.

by:

It works as advertised. I carry two e-bikes behind my 5th wheel, or truck. I think it could be a little more user friendly. The vertical support needs to fold down in both directions instead of just one. Removing the bolt and nob(and lock washer) to lower vertical support bar is taxing and makes losing parts very easy (especially at night). It’s very heavy, and is a project to mount and dismount from hitch. Overall, it does what it says it will do, and is trustworthy.

I appreciate your honest opinion about this rack, Kevin! Even thought it didn't make a 4 or 5 star it's really helpful to know why, so thank you for telling us what you really think :)

by:

Just got our ebike loaded up on the new bike rack, look like it going to be a nice setup for our bikes.
This is a replacement rack for our Thule rack we had for 7 years.
The Hollywood rack is rated so we can put it behind our motor home.

by:

Assembly is easy, instructions clear. We installed this on the back of a 35' fifth wheel camper, with considerable worry about poor roads.
Loaded with one Trek eBike and one road bike, both the bikes and the rack itself are absolutely solid. We've now towed them about 1800 miles without incident. Nothing makes an expensive eBike completely safe riding on the back of a trailer or sitting in a campground but I am more comfortable now than when we started.
The lock on the security cable failed after a few weeks in the weather; key would fit in the lock but would not turn. We had to cut it off - an angle grinder does the job in a few seconds. Hollywood, called on a weekend afternoon, sent us a replacement cable promptly.

I'm glad to hear everything came together pretty smoothly for you George! Sounds like this has restored some peace of mind for you as well as helped you explore even more than before with your bikes! Any fun trips planned for this summer?

We love our Hollywood RV Rider Bike Rack. We have loaded it on our 87 Jeep Wrangler, our ‘06 Lexus, and our ‘83 Pilot. It is a perfect fit on all three! We needed the extra length to clear our rear mount tire on our Jeep. It worked! We have taken our 4”fat tire e-bikes on many roads from northern Idaho to southern Arizona. The bikes travel well and sturdy on this heavy weight rack. We feel very confident that they stay in place. We are able to load our bikes in a few minutes and hit the road in no time. It is very easy to load. We recommend using the bar grip extenders (which came in the package) to compact the storage area. This rack comes with a tip mechanism to allow you to tip the bikes down to access the rear trunk or hatchback.

We still love this bike rack! It carries our bikes on rough, gravel, uneven roads with hardly any bounce to the rack or bikes. It is very solid and the bikes stay so secure. We highly recommend this heavy duty bike rack. It handles our bikes wonderfully!

by:

Add to modify the recommended order to put the tire rails on. Getting ebikes onto the rack will require two people for older people. Really sturdy rack. No wiggling.

by:

This rack is a beast. Arrived on time, in good shape and fairly easy to assemble. I can easily see why it is rv approved. I love the multiple locks and security cable as well as the versatile design to accommodate most bike sizes, shapes and tire widths, including ebikes. We ride mountain bikes and gravel grinders now but this rack will suit us if/when we add ebikes to our fleet in the future. Also, the folks at etrailer are the best!

by:

Fairly easy to assemble. Good intructions although I don't know what happened to step 4. LOL. The instructions went straight from #3 to #5. No big deal. Tried this on our '16 Jeep Cherokee. Fine. Bit of overkill due to the height off the ground. Expecting it will work with my '04 Lifted Jeep Wrangler with a swing away spare tire. Going to be a lift getting the bikes up in the rack on that rig!. I'm thinking the rack will be tough enough to haul the bikes to some more sort of off road places with the Jeep. Taking the batteries off is a necessity. Rack appears super sturdy which is what I wanted. Using it on a Electa Townie and a Trek Verve+4s. Both step-thru bikes. Attaching them to the upright bar is a bit of a trick but I think it's going to be fine. Also, I think this rack will be fine on my 30' Class A when I'm not flat towing the Jeep with the bikes on the back. Be aware that you basically have to lift the bikes into the wheel wells on the rack so if you can't remove the battery to loose weight, and/or can't lift 30-40 lbs you'll need to find a different rack. This rack is quite high off the ground. If you are dragging it on the ground that will be the least of your worries as something bigger is happening.

Very sturdy bike rack. No issues with anything. Been on the back of the Jeep with bikes in it for over 6,000 miles.

by:

Summary: "Excellent packaging, install info, and quality"

I haven't used the bike rack yet, but these are my impressions after unpacking, putting together, and adjusting for our E-Bikes.
(1) The manufacturer packaging was excellent. No scratches or missing parts.
(2) The install instructions are excellent. Clear and some useful text to go with good pictures.
(3) The components seem to be very well made. Fit and finish is good and made of substantial parts.

Will use on the back of our fifth wheel RV for a short trip in a few days.

by:

Very well constructed and rugged. Plenty of size options for frames and wheels. Believe this will be the last bike rack I’ll ever need as it fits almost any type of bike and weight. All these option do require you take your time setting it up for your bikes during initial install. Has very little bounce and sway which even this is all but eliminated when you attach the side support straps from rack to bumper. Unloading the inside bike takes some practice however, I do like that the bikes are raised high so as to eliminate ground drag in uneven areas and it keeps my license plate from being obscured. I also mounted the Hollywood LED light bar for added visibility. Highly recommend.

by:

Very solid and (so far) versatile rack. Holds a cargo style e-bike with 20" tires and permanently mounted front and rear racks very well (other racks struggled with the permanently mounted racks). This rack is constructed almost 100% with steel--it's heavy, but rugged.

by:

Sturdy. Supports 2 e-bikes well on truck or RV. Locking on supports for bikes and included cable add security. I travel with confidence that my bikes Will be safe.
It is heavy, and a bit bulky to store, but these are minor to me in exchange for how well it carries the bikes.

by:

We atr very pleased with our bike rack after one years use. We carry our Lectric ebikes on this rack and it is so solid and there is no movement on the rack and bikes. One important thing for us was for my wife to be able to load and unload her bike by herself. This rack accomodates that. We struggled for a couple of years trying to haul the bikes in the back of the truck since they are foldable but had issues with vibration wear as it was a tight fit to get them in with our fifth wheel hitch. While this rack was more money than we planned to spend I'm glad we did. Now we take our bikes on every trip.

by:

A while back we bought a pair of e-bikes. We carry them on the back of our class A diesel motor home. The first bike rack we used claimed to be rv rated, and since it was cheaper, we bought it. On a cross country trip, the bikes loosened enough to cause scrapes on both bikes no matter how I tightened them.

We bought this rack about a year ago. Since then we have traveled about 10,000 miles with the bikes. Every time I check them they are still locked in rock solid, and since the only contact points are the tires and the seat posts, there is no damage to the bikes. Spend the money and buy this rack.

by:

Minor delay in delivery due to UPS holding package at west Columbia SC facility. Same exact thing happened a few years ago with another bike rack except that one was declared lost and was reshipped by E-trailer.
The Hollywood rack is very well designed and built. Rock solid on my 36’ fifth wheel.

  • Will Lectric 3.0 E-Bikes Fit Inno Tire Hold HD Bike Rack
The wheelbase won't be a problem for the Inno Tire Hold HD Bike Rack # IN25RR but the fenders will be. If you don't have fenders on your Lectric 3.0 then you can definitely use this bike rack. However, I have only seen it with fenders so I'm guessing this won't work. A better option if you have fenders would be the Hollywood Racks RV Rider # HLY64FR. The RV Rider is also designed for electric bikes so it has an 80 lb capacity per bike. This rack is perfect for the Lectric 3.0 since it...

As far as clearing your spare tire on your Jeep Wrangler, there is a definite way to tell if you have enough clearance with the rack installed on your hitch (if you have a hitch receiver). We have an e-bike rack that is rated for the rougher ride quality at the rear of travel trailers with the Kuat Transfer V2 # KU84FR but the Hollywood Racks RV Rider you mentioned is currently not rated for this application. The Transfer V2 though has a 60 lb per bike weight capacity and only touches the bikes by the tires so it's a really great and easy to use option. Check out the review video link I attached for more info as well.

  • Can The Yakima LongHaul RV Bike Rack Y02476 Hold Two 52 E-Bikes
Hello Keith, thanks for reaching out. To answer your question, no, you cannot carry two 52 lb bikes with the Yakima LongHaul RV Bike Rack # Y02476. When we talk about wheelbase we take that measurement from the center of the front axle to the center of the rear axle. I'm thinking that you measured from the outside edge of your front tire/wheel to the outside edge of your rear tire/wheel because a 70"...

  • What is Max Wheelbase Bike that Hollywood Racks RV Rider # HLY64FR Can Fit
Hey Brian, so there's a chance the Hollywood Racks RV Rider part # HLY64FR will work for you but we need to know your wheelbase as well. The wheelbase is the distance between the axle centers of the bikes basically. This has a max wheelbase it can work with of 60 inches. Hopefully that works as that's one of our longer wheelbase options. We also have the Swagman XC Extended part # S64650-EXT which has a max wheelbase of 69 inches.
