The Swagman XTC4 hitch-mounted platform rack takes the hassle out of transporting bikes of various sizes and styles. This sturdy powder coated steel rack accommodates most bike frames and makes for quick loading and unloading. The stable tray-style design offers 3 points of contact for each bike: 2 adjustable wheel hoops and a cushioned frame hook that won't scratch your bike. And when you're not using it, the 4-bike carrier folds up against your vehicle so it's out of the way.

Bike rack in unfolded position with slight incline to improve ground clearance

When the XTC4 bike rack is folded down for use, the base of the rack sits at a slight incline to improve ground clearance.

Bike hooks with push buttons and ratcheting system

Cushioned hooks slide easily down the rack's upright masts to secure each bike at the frame. The hooks click into place with the built-in ratcheting system. When it's time to remove your bikes, you can slide the hooks back up by pushing the integrated buttons to release them.

Adjustable wheel hoops with hand knobs and straps to secure wheels

The wheel hoops slide along the rack's horizontal arms to accommodate bikes with different wheelbases. When the hoops are positioned as desired, you can tighten them in place with the built-in hand knobs. Rubber straps let you secure your bikes' wheels to the wheel hoops.

Video Transcript for Swagman XTC4 Wheel Mount Hitch Bike Rack Review

Today, were going to review part number s64665 from Swagman. This is a XTC-4 bike rack. Okay, a few things to know about this bicycle rack that it is designed for 2 inch by 2 inch trailer hitches only. All right and this bicycle rack can fold up when its not in use. One measurement that will help you out in determining if this will work with your vehicle is the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest edge of a wheel loop will measure about 12 inches. This also includes a hitch lock and cable combination.

Well go ahead and install it into the hitch. Then, well go ahead and install the anti-rattle bolt. Now, this bicycle rack does come with two anti-rattle bolts, one locking and one non-locking.On this review well go ahead and use the locking one, so we will go ahead and install the hitch pin and thread it into place. Then, well go ahead and tighten down it. For now, well go ahead and install the lock.

Well go ahead and leave the cable off for now, so you can see how the lock goes onto the pin. At this point we can go ahead and fold down the bike rack. First, there is a pin we have to remove and a clip. We will pull the clip first and then pull out the pin. Then, we can go ahead and lower the bike rack down to the carrying position.

Then, we will go ahead and re-install the pin and then a clip. All right, now we will go onto the wheel loops. As you can see here theyre adjustable on the bar from left and right. Theres a small knob that we have to loosen, so we can adjust them to move them where we want and then we can go ahead and tighten them down to lock them in place. To help hold the bicycle wheel in place theres a strap also in the wheel loop, well show how that works. If you have a strap that snaps onto the wheel loop and it goes through the wheel to secure the bike.Next, well go ahead and raise the center post.

Well release the pin and then pull it up. Then, well go ahead and re-install the pin. All right, we have one done, lets go ahead to the next one and do the same thing. Now, well go ahead and show how the clamps work. They slide down, but you have to release the catch to bring them back up and you can see how we pull on the trigger right here and the teeth release from the post so that you can move it up and down.Okay, on this bike rack there is three points of contact to hold the bike in place: the clamp and the two wheel loops. At this point we can go ahead and load up the bike. Well go ahead and run the clamps up to the top of the post and then well go ahead and get the straps out of the way. When you actually load up a bike its always a good practice to load up from the closest to the vehicle on the way back. We did our bike on the outside edge of the rack; its a little bit easier to see how the bike gets loaded up. Well load up the bike, put the wheel in the wheel loops and bring the clamp down onto the top tube of the bike. Well go ahead and snitch it down and make sure its tight. Then, well go ahead and run the wheel straps through the wheels and then fast them.Next, well go ahead with our security cable. Well take the one end of the security cable and run it through the loop. Well go ahead and take the cable, well run it through the bikes and frame and then run the cable through itself and then onto the locking pin. Okay, and with that, thatll finish it for our review of the Swagman XTC-4 bicycle rack, part number s64665.

Received the rack quickly and in perfect condition. We have owned many styles of racks over the last twenty years including Thule, Yakima, frame styles, ankle biters, and roof racks. I am a female in my forties with small children (3 and 6). For the reviewers who state it won't work with smaller bikes I disagree. We have 16 and 20 in. tire bikes as well as a trailer bike. Instead of putting the tire rings as directed, you can place 4 heading in the same direction which allows for a very short wheel bases. With the rings the same direction it will still easily fit an adult men's medium frame bike. We can't make it fit the balance bike, but we fill it with bigger bikes anyway. We had a similar x-port rack but hated the tightening knobs on the frame holder portion. They seemed to often loosen in travel. I love the ratcheting system. Bikes hold securely. If tires flatten in travel I don't worry about the bike hanging by the two tire straps. We do add some padding on the contact point with the frame, but I don't worry about much. We have a tri bike, 2 mountain bikes, 2 road bikes, single speed, fitness bike, 3 kids bikes (16 & 20in.) and a trailer bike. Fits them all. Good solid rack for half the price of Kuat, Thule, and Yakima. It is really easy to place on and off. Dropping the center bar while placing the first bike and raising it after placed makes it easier. We were very glad the locking pin and cable came with the rack. It works well when rack is on the camp trailer but can't use it on the 2007 Yukon. It is easy to use any bike lock to secure bikes to rack frame. Glad we ordered from etrailer. Very happy with our purchase. 189633

I am looking for a tray based rack. I have considered the Kuat NV as it is the Cadillac of racks, but its pricey. Mostly, I need something extremely easy for my wife who is 52 110 lbs. Cant be difficult to loadunload bikes. Eventually our 3 yr old twins will move from 12 wheel balance bikes to 16 bikes. It fits the 16 bikes okay? And, would it work for two 16 kid bikes, a XS frame womens mountain bike w/ 27.5 tires, and a large 20 frame mens bike w/ 29 tires? From your review it sounds like a you have to manage a puzzle to get them all to fit.

This is a very nice piece of hardware for what I need. I wanted a carrier built well enough to haul 4 bikes several hundred miles without damage. I also was impressed that it gives a little extra clearance at the back, because of how it angles up from the pavement. I am using this unit with a Nissan Rogue, and my U-Haul hitch doesn't come out quite far enough to allow it to swing into the upright position. I emailed etrailer for a solution, and their answer was extremely thorough and helpful. (I will need to get a hitch extender with an anti rattle device; I just haven't done that yet.) Dealing with etrailer.com was fantastic. This is a SUPER professional, courteous group to deal with; they're education- and service-oriented. More online businesses should pattern themselves after etrailer's model. You can't help but want to do more business with them! 157260

Comments
I bought the hitch extender and anti rattle device, which worked perfectly. I took four bikes on a 1,000 mile trip, with not a scratch to a bike or my car. Ive used the bike rack numerous times since then for short trips. I am every bit as excited about this carrier as the day I bought it. It is as solid as a rock!

Placed my order on a Monday and had my new rack on Friday. While the instructions for assembly could tolerate some improvement they were plenty goood enough to get the job done. Took me about an hour to assmble but I wasn't in a hurry. I attached the rack to my Curt receiver (part #C13105) that I installed on my 2011 Toyota Sienna XLE. Only problem with this setup is insufficient clearance to swing the rack into the full upright storage position. I also have to loosen the handlebars on the bike closest to the van and turn them 90 degrees so they don't touch the back of the van. Both these issues could be solved with a hitch extesion but simple enough to work around without. No biggie. Guess that's the price I pay for having the Curt receiver discretely snuggied up under the bumper. This rack is a serious hunk of steel that does a great job of holding the bikes in place. NO wiggle at all. After test fitting the bikes in place, I'm very confident that the bikes will stay put for a long road trip. Getting all the bikes on the rack and clear of each other does take some experimentation. But once you get it set, it's much faster loading on subsequent trips. The provided locking, anti-rattle pin does a great job of securing the rack to the receiver and makes it all feel like one solid piece. The provided cable lock threads through the bikes and back to the locked anti-rattle pin so nobody can steal your bikes while you're at the hotel, etc. Overall, the construction looks/feels very solid and I really don't see anything where I thought they were trying to save money on construction. This does make the rack a little heavy and it could be challenging for a smaller person to manage. I really like the way this rack holds the bikes from the wheels up as oppposed to hanging off a bar. I was afraid the other style would have the bikes swinging lik e a pedulum. Sorry for the long review, hope there's some helpful information in here some of you. 36068

It's a great product for the money! Shipped very promptly. Patience is the key when watching the shipping progress and a weekend ensues, but with free shipping, there is no room to complain! Assembly is pretty intuitive. A photo from your web site is a better guide than the figures on the instructions. I've already had four bikes, each with a different frame design, on it and they fit just fine on the rear of a 2013 Dodge Durango R/T. A bit of a close fit with the empty rack folded up but still clears the bumper fascia by 3/4". Just as functional to racks that are over twice as expensive. It's a keeper. I highly recommend it! 148738

Comments
Not a lot of miles put on it in the last year. My only complaint is that the security cable eye end is too large to go on the pin with the hitch on my Durango. Other than that its certainly a good product for the price!

Loads and unloads bikes super fast, and holds them firm. Wish I would have purchased this a long time ago instead of struggling with my old frame mount rack. I actually ride more because I don't dread having to load. Adjusts to different bikes easily. Time will tell if the fittings, springs, straps hold up to weather (I leave it on car). It is fairly large and heavier than the more expensive 4 bike racks (it's mostly steel vs. composite plastic), so if you are going to take it off hitch and store it - be prepared. Only recommendation I have is to add softer foam on the frame bar for traveling on rough roads. 149717

Comments
The rack works well. Use it often. 4 bikes is key.Since I dont leave it on the hitch, my only issue with it is the weight when taking it on and off. But I knew that going in, and was working to a price point, which precluded lighter manufacturers.

I love my Swagman XTC4 4-Bike Rack. Very simple to put together. In less than an hour you are done. The quality and finish of the rack is superb. You can put different size bikes from children to adult without a problem. Bikes are secure, I have driven at highway speeds without any concern at all. I had a two pole hanging type bike rack before this one and the bikes were getting scratched and I was always concerned of them falling off. The swagman bike rack folds away nicely when not in use and it fits perfectly on my 2005 Honda pilot. You will not be disappointed. I highly recommend this product. 143258

This bike rack is very solid and holds the bike very securely; not rattles, no wobbles, no scuffed bikes. It is a bit of a puzzle trying to get four bikes on the rack the first couple times but it is getting easier with practice. I have two adult bikes and two children's bikes which pretty much run the gamut on sizes and the rack holds the smallest just as well as the largest. As has always been my experience, the customer service from etrailer was extremely fast. 89696

Just some kudos to Etrailer and Swagman: somehow the folding pin in my unit got a slight bend in it. After searching for a replacement pin locally in vain, I contacted Etrailer. Tamara responded immediately to my request, but couldnt locate the exact part. So she forwarded on my request to Swagmans home office. Dave at Swagman got right back to me, identified the exact part and sent out a replacement, no charge. He was quite surprised to learn the folding pin had failed. Needless to say, working with Etrailer and Swagman has been greatthey stand behind their products with AMAZING service!!!

I can't believe how quickly I received the bike rack. I ordered it on Monday and got an email Monday that it was shipping. The package arrived at my house on Wednesday; 2 days! I put it together today and installed it to check it out. Easy assembly especially after reading assembly comments and suggestions online while I was shopping. Best advice was to put it on the vehicle before assembling the remaining parts as the vehicle becomes your second set of hands to hold it. I think this will be perfect for our set of mountain, ladies, and kids BMX style bikes as it was tough to load all the different types on my last hanging rack. 59532

Ive used the rack for both trips around town as well as 2 day trips to and from the mountains. Its really solid and holds the bike securely so I dont worry about them at all. Folds up easily when the bikes are removed and then easy to relower when needed again.Really, the only downside is the weight when putting it on the vehicle and taking it off. Its still a one person job and the strength of the unit is worth that. I knew that from other purchaser comments so its something I decided was worth it for the quality of the rack.

If you've done any research or read any of the other comments on either this rack, or this seller...rest assured they really are as good as everyone says! I ordered my rack on around 4pm est on a Friday afternoon and within an hour I received an email that said they have shipped my product AND upgraded to priority shipping. Can't say enough positive things about the customer service! When the rack arrived, it took me a little over half an hour to get it set up. Probably would e been faster if I were even slightly mechanically inclined (or if didn't I didn't have to borrow a socket wrench from my neighbor). We finally had an opportunity to load up the bikes and head out for a ride today. As others have said, the first time you load up your bikes, it's kind of like a puzzle to get them situated. Took about 15 minutes. This rack is awesome! Very sturdy and the bikes were very secure. Only racks I have had in the past were rooftop fork mount racks. This is so much easier! On e we got to the trail (over an hour drive) getting the bikes off was a piece of cake. Afterwards, it was time to load them back up and it was less than 5 minutes to get them all on and ready to hit the road. There were other 4-bike racks on the website, but this one had enough great reviews that I felt comfortable making the purchase. After the fact, I'm very glad I did! I can't imagine the $800 rack can be that much better than this, and I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a 4-bike platform rack. I will definitely recommend this rack and etrailer.com to everyone I know. 63607

This is an awesome bike rack. At 52 and 115 pounds I can load and unload the bikes myself. That said, even with a lock on the rack securing it to the hitch, someone stole the rack off the back of our car over night. Just wanted to warn the rest of you as I order another.

This rack is shipped WITH a threaded locking hitch pin AND a 6 ft plastic-wrapped steel cable, so don't waste your money buying these accesories!! etrailer.com is blissfully unaware of this fact and you'll be responsible for the return shipping because they refuse to admit they know nothing of the products they sell-they just try to sell needless additional accessories! Don't get sucked in!!! That being said, the rack itself is decent for the money. I could've gotten it slightly cheaper elsewhere but was happy with a previous purchase from etrailer-NOT THIS TIME! It is heavy, bulky, and time consuming to get 4 bikes aligned on it properly. My wife would certainly not be able to load it herself. Once all the work's done it does travel well, though. If you're looking for a rack that secures the bikes safely-this is the way to go. It makes no difference what angle the bike's crossbar is at (or if it's a ladies crossbar), this rack will accomodate any style or size bike. This kind of rack makes much more sense than the "hanging" types unless you have 4 identical bikes in the same frame size. Looking forward to many years of use as it appears to be well-made. Just don't buy it from etrailer! 34807

As our family has grown, so have our bikes. We needed an upgrade from our frame mount rack. The XTC4 was an easy decision based on the many product reviews and some careful research. First, shipping was amazing! I ordered it on a Monday, and it was at my door the next day. Assembly took about an hour. Setting up and adjusting for four bikes took about another hour to make sure all bikes would go on and off the same way each time. It fits our fleet of mountain bikes nearly perfectly. It also fits behind our 2012 Honda pilot with room to spare when folded upright. Great product, awesome shipping! 229258

Very sturdy bike rack. Bikes don't move at all. Takes some time to put together. Directions are horrible. Very happy with this purchase. Recommend taking some pictures after you have the bikes on. Took some time To get all four bikes on( puzzle) with the pedals And different size bikes. 783220

Excellent product! Took it on a weekend tour about 3 hours away to bike and they were solid the entire time. The only thing that takes some time is trying to figure out how the bikes all go on. Once you figure that out, they go on and off very quickly. Well made, sturdy, love how the center arms fold down. It would be nice if someone, the company or consumer would post or put on youtube some bike scenarios so that you can have an idea before you start to try and figure out how 4 bikes will fit together. For example, on the lower racks you put smaller bikes and the end racks you put taller, or one tall one, one small one, and so on. Just a suggestion. It took me a while to figure out the best configuration. 254530

A great bike rack that fits all 4 bikes without rubbing all over each other like other racks I have used. Folds down so the hatch of the vehicle can be opened without removing. Heavy and sturdy. Overall, functions as intended. I would recommend. 803913

Having two children the sliding trays make it great to fit all sized bikes, and it easily adjusts, so this works perfectly for our family. For the price this bike rack is awesome. You are able to easily move it up / down to access the tailgate without taking it off of the car. I’ve already recommended this to several of our friends. 803632

We just recently have been able to use our bike rack due to uncharacteristic weather for this time of year in Pennsylvania. I will say that it is very sturdy and easy to use. It hauls our four bikes with no problem. 799971

My wife and son decided to join me mountain biking. The bike carrier I had was not sufficient for three bikes so it was time for a new one. I did quite a bit of research and the Swagman XTC4 seemed to fit the bill. It works fantastic, bikes are easy to load and unload and it holds them securely. Would highly recommend! 784541

This item is a really heavy duty bike rack. The bikes stay in place and there is no wobbling of the bikes or the rack as we are going down the road. 776776

Concept(5/5) Design(1/5) Quality (4/5) Installation(5/5) Pro: 1) Set up and Insallation is straight forward Cons: 1) The sliders knob handles, 1 is already broken 2) Design issue: The distance between bicycles is too small, - The bicycles interfere and/or scratch between themselves When you try to mount 4 bicycles, it is almost impossible. You can say it is good for 2 or 3 bicycles, 4 bicycles is a stretch. 764587

- S64665

Generally like this trailer, great value and strong. Have moved my family of four bikes around on it for a year. I only remove one star because its heavy and thus a little difficult to take on and off, also 27+ tires are A little tight fit, but overall its a good and durable trailer for 4 bikes. My other recommendation is to get your 4 bikes loaded and keep a picture of them. Its best to get it set up for a specific load order and direction and keep the bikes in that order. 746777

- S64665
by:

Great product, securely carries 4 bikes on the road. However, couple of things that you should be aware of. First, it's very hard to actually get more than one bike onto the trailer. The pedals interfere with the vertical posts. Second, storing it is a problem. It is very hard to store such a large, heavy, odd shaped object. It takes up huge amount of room in the garage and I just can't find a way to store it neatly. 733806

- S64665
by:

So far, so good. Used it for the first time at the weekend and no issues. It did exactly what it said on the tin! Installed in the hitch without issue and the bikes loaded up with no issues and stayed secure during the driving. It took about 30 to 45 mins to put together. A bit of a fiddle at times but I was by myself. An extra pair of hands would have taken care of that issue. Would I recommend it, as if now yes, no doubt. As for etrailer, no issues there either. Got a great price on the rack and delivery was on the money. It arrived damage free. 729112

Great product! Have LOVED using the rack and feel that it keeps the bikes safe and secure. It takes a little bit of time the 1st time loading 4 bikes and strategically placing each in different positions, but once you have your method down, it goes much quicker. My only regret is that I don't get to use it more often with the family! 728090

  • Recommended 4-Bike Platform Rack That Allows 2012 Lexus GX 460 to Open Rear Door
Thank you for all the information, it was very helpful. I went to our demo room to take some measurements of the Swagman XTC-4 # S64665 and based on those would not be able to confirm it would allow a 2012 Lexus GX 460 to open the rear door. If you use the attached photo (which shows the Swagman, but not on a Lexus GX 460) as a reference, you can see that at the highest point, the XTC-4 is going to be roughly 28" above the ground on a 2012 Lexus GX 460. Given a margin of error of roughly...

For a similar bike rack that uses arms to secure the bikes and comes with bike and rack locks I recommend the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE # HR1400Z which does allow you to keep your bikes loaded while you use the tilt feature. • Will Swagman XTC4 4-Bike Rack Fit Bike With 29 Inch Diameter Wheels & 2-1/2 Inch Wide Tires
I'm happy to let you know that the Swagman XTC4 4-Bike Rack # S64665 absolutely works with your bike that has a 48 inch wheelbase, 29 inch diameter wheels and tires that are 2-1/2 inches wide. The XTC4 is a really good value for a 4-bike rack and will give you a strong, stable way to carry your bikes. It even comes with an integrated cable lock and hitch lock, securing your bikes to the rack and the rack to your vehicle, helping protect your investments. I have added a link to a...

  • Will the Swagman XTC4 4-Bike Rack Fit a 2012 Toyota RAV4 with Spare Tire
The Swagman XTC4 4-Bike Rack for 2" Hitches part # S64665 will fit a 2012 Toyota RAV4. That said, you would not be able to fold the rack up for storage because of the rear spare tire. However, if you were to add an extender/swing-away adapter you would be able to fold the bike rack up for storage and swing it away from the vehicle to get into the rear hatch. The most cost effective swing-away adapter we offer is the Yakima BackSwing Swing Away Hitch Extender part # Y02483 which will work...

  • Will the Swagman XTC4 and Quad Carry Four Bikes at a Time
Yes, both the Swagman XTC4, # S64665, and the Quad, # S64692, will allow you to carry 1, 2, 3 or 4 bikes at a time. Keep in mind that due to the carrying capacity of these bike racks they will only fit in 2 inch trailer hitch receivers. As long as you have a 2 inch trailer hitch receiver and do not exceed the weight capacity of the bike rack or your trailer hitch, then you will have no problem carrying up to 4 bikes. If you plan on carrying any womens or childrens bikes, then I would...

  • Will a Womans Bike Fit the Swagman XTC4 Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack
Actually loading a womans bike on the Swagman XTC4, # S64665, is the same as for a mens bike. The issue on alternative frame bikes is the top frame tube often dips lower instead of going straight across like on a typical mens bike. I have included a picture showing a womens bike loaded on the 2-bike version of the same rack.

  • Hitch-Mount 4-Bike Platform Carrier for Use on 2014 Mazda CX-5
Your 2014 Mazda CX-5 can be fitted with two sizes/classes of trailer hitch, either a 1-1/4-inch Class II or a 2-inch Class III type, but since you are looking into 4-bike platform carriers I will trust that you have a higher-capacity 2-inch hitch. If not, please let me know. One important consideration for any hitch rack is the clearance needed for it to safely clear the rear-most part of your vehicle. In this case that will be the bumper. Bike racks offer varying amounts of clearance...

  • Recommending Four-Bike Platform Rack Among Hollywood, Swagman and Malone
The most bang for your buck is going to be the Hollywood Sport Rider SE # HR1400Z, which, like the Swagman Quad # S64692 and Malone Pilot # MPG2112-2115 is a tilt-away, fold-up rack that uses ratcheting hooks and wheel holders to keep the bikes steady. The Hollywood does this for less but still provides an anti-rattle device, a hitch lock so the rack is secured to your vehicle, and a cable lock to secure your bikes to the rack. So do the Swagman and Malone, though they are pricier....

  • Can a Hitch Extender be Used with Swagman XTC4 Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack on a 2008 Ford Edge
I do not recommend using an extension with Swagman XTC4 bike rack # S64665. The issue is that the use of an extension, such as # HE06, reduces the tongue weight capacity of the trailer hitch by 50 percent. The Class III, 2 inch trailer hitches for your 2008 Ford Edge have a tongue weight capacity of 350 pounds up to 400 pounds (for the Curt hitch). Using the adapter will reduce the capacities to 175 pounds or 200 pounds for the Curt hitch. The rack itself weighs 60 pounds. This means...

  • Finding Folding 4 Bike Capacity Platform Style Bike Rack to Clear Spare Tire of Jeep CJ
In order to determine if a given folding bike rack would work, you'll need to measure rearward from the hitch pin hole in the receiver to the furthest rearward point of the spare tire. This distance needs to be less than the hitch pin hole to closest part of the bike rack dimension of the shank on the bike rack you choose. I've linked you to an FAQ article that shows how to do this. For instance, when folded up, the Swagman XTC4, part # S64665 has a hitch pin hole to closest part of...

  • 4-Bike Rack Recommendation for Rear of Travel Trailer
At the back of trailers the ride quality is much rougher than at the rear of vehicles due to the increased distance between the rear axle and the rear of the vehicle and the much less sophisticated suspension. It's not the way the rack attaches to the rear of the vehicle so much as it is the harshness that ends up stressing the rack too much. That is why you'd have to look into a different 4 bike rack for your travel trailer and not the XTC4 you mentioned. There are no platform racks...

I have a solution for you, however, the Swagman XTC4 Bike Rack, # S64665, will most likely hit your bumper when folded up on your 2013 Honda Odyssey. The bike rack I recommend for you is the Swagman Quad 2+2 Bike Rack, # S64692. This bike rack measures 9 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest edge of the bike rack when folded up. To verify that this will work on your Odyssey, I recommend measuring from the center of the hitch pin hole on your trailer hitch to the...

  • Recommended 4-Bike Rack for a 2012 Coachmen Mirada
I have two great 4-bike rack options for your 2012 Coachmen Mirada. The best one for you will really depend on what type of bikes you have. If you have kid's or women's bikes then you will want to go with a platform style bike rack, I recommend the Swagman XTC4 4-Bike Rack part # S64665 because it has an anti-rattle hitch lock to help stabilize the bike rack and your bikes. It also comes with a cable lock for your bikes to prevent theft. If you are not using the bike rack you can fold it...

The Swagman XTC4 4-Bike Carrier for 2-inch hitches, part # S64665, does have tilting upright masts to allow hatch access when not loaded with bikes but the main horizontal structure can drop only to a level position (as with bikes loaded and going down the road). It does not tilt down below the level position. With your four bikes loaded you will not be able to open your rear hatch. • Which 4 Bike Platform Rack is Better, The Swagman S64665 or the SportRack A30902
I would choose the Swagman S64665 over the SportRack part # A30902LR in this case, hands down. The Swagman base is a bit heavier. They are both steel racks, so they would not hold up as well as an aluminum rack would, but I think the Swagman finish will hold up better. The biggest difference is the upright posts. The SportRack uses a tension knob that tightens a plastic clamp. The Swagman uses ratcheting hooks that lock into teeth along the uprights of the rack. People have trouble with...

  • Can the Swagman XTC4 Bike Rack Be Used With a Hitch Expander
The Swagman XTC4 4 Bike Rack # S64665 can be used with a hitch adapter, like the Brophy Hitch Adapter # HTAD. However, there are some things to consider with a hitch adapter. When using a hitch adapter, the tongue weight of your vehicle's hitch will be reduced by 50 percent. So if your trailer hitch has a tongue weight capacity of 200 pounds, with a hitch adapter it will have a tongue weight of 100 pounds. This means that the bike rack and all bikes loaded will need to weigh less than...

I have linked a video review of this rack for you. Another option to consider is the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider, # HR1400Z. This rack can actually be used as a 2 or 4 bike carrier. Then to use it with 16 or 18 inch bike wheels you would just need adapter # HRSW-ADP-2. I have linked a video review of this bike rack as well.

  • Recommendation For 4 Bike Rack on 2011 Honda CRV That Will Allow Access to Rear Cargo Area

This will allow the bike rack to be removed when not being used. The trailer hitch on your vehicle is attached to the frame of your CRV and the load of the 4 bikes on the hitch will be supported by your vehicles frame. The weight capacity is based on a per bike limit, not a total rack capacity. There are a few differences between the # S64692 and # S64665.
