Big rides are no problem here. The NV 2.0 handles two bikes up to 60 lbs each or four bikes up to 40 lbs each, so hauling an e-bike or a fat-tire rig is fully supported. The rack’s lightweight aluminum build keeps weight down while staying rock-solid mile after mile. With standard wheel straps for tires up to 3.0" and included fat-bike straps for up to 5.0", you can load everything from a slim-tire road bike to a full-tread trail machine.
You don’t need to take bikes off just to grab gear. A spring-loaded foot lever tilts the rack down even when fully loaded, giving clear access to your cargo area. When you’re done unloading, the same lever folds the rack up for compact storage. Accessible placement and hands-free operation keep things simple when you’re balancing bikes or holding gear.
The NV 2.0 secures each bike by the front wheel, never the frame, which makes it safe for carbon fiber and custom finishes. Ratcheting arms press down on the tire, while sliding rear-wheel straps adjust for wheelbases up to 50" so every bike fits snugly. A child-bike and fat-tire adapter are included, and an extender strap handles one fat bike right out of the box.
The integrated Trail Doc repair stand brings a mini-shop wherever you roll. A spring-loaded clamp grabs the seat post or top tube—sized for 3/4" to 2-1/2" diameters—so you can spin cranks, tweak gears, or wash off mud before the next leg of the trip. It locks in place when stored and detaches easily if you prefer a clean look.
Turn the front-mounted hand knob and an internal wedge tightens the rack in the hitch for a no-wobble fit. A locking hitch pin and integrated braided-steel cable locks protect both rack and bikes. Finished in gunmetal gray powder coat over aluminum, the NV 2.0 resists rust and stays looking sharp season after season.

Great Product. Drove from Texas to Southern California and back with four bikes on this thing. The longer the trip, the more my faith for this thing increased. I am glad I spent the money and got a good rack so worth the piece of mind.
Product came in earlier than expected. This rack is so well worth it. Very solid construction and looks pretty modern and cool. I am really happy with this purchase. Note that this 4 bike rack is really heavy and massive, i ended up buying a rack dock so that i can store it properly. Etrailer service is awesome.
We love this bike rack!! Sure it is more expensive than some of the other racks, but it is worth the extra $!! etrailer offered this at a great price and delivered it quickly.
So far the Kuat NV 2.0 has been everything I thought it would. The assembly process and instructions were pretty straight forward. It can be done by one person but will be much easier with additional helping hands to hold or turn the allen/hex wrench.
Not the least expensive rack for sure, but it's a high quality product. The bikes stay put inside the rack, and the rack doesn't wobble at all. Everything is solid. The integrated cable locks are great for securing bikes during brief stops.

I needed this rack in a hurry before my trip. I called Etrailer and they had it in stock and shipped it out that day. It got here two days later just in time for my trip. What amazing customer service these guys have.
The rack itself is insanely nice. It's refreshing to see a company like Kuat build something they very clearly care about. I am about to put it through it's paces on a long trip, but so far, amazing product.
I put it on my 2016 Mercedes Benz Sprinter. FWIW you can open both doors with the rack installed and no bike on the first slot in the rack. If you want to run 4 bikes and open the doors you will probably need a hitch extender. I guess 8".
Stupid heavy rack, but so are all the others. The tilt down function to open the tailgate on my Subaru outback makes the rack rest on the ground. Not so nice for the shinny finish of the rack… easy to put together if you build the rack on your hitch. I’d buy something better, but I think this is the best on the market. I had the Sherpa and it was very good for transporting bikes. This is just as good, but it’s so heavy I can fishtail the car. Silly!

My Kuat NV 2. Bike Rack is the best bike rack I have ever owned. It is excellent for electric bikes. Very easy to load bikes and holds bikes very securely.
Worth every penny. I also have a Saris Freedom 4, and after years of frustration shoehorning 4 bikes onto it I finally gave in and got the NV. It was almost fun to put all 4 bikes on and took a fraction of the time compared to the Saris. The best part is that there is enough space between each bike that they don't rub against each other. The bare aluminum spot on my son's bike from my pedal is a constant reminder that I should have ordered the NV in the first place. As a 4 bike rack, it's a bit large and also on the heavy side, but can still be moved around by one person.

This is ,in my opinion, a very expensive rack but it is probably hands-down the best hitch mount bike rack on the market.
I will say that I have only assembled the initial two bike rack and have not yet attached the additional two bike rack to make it a four bike rack.
But it will definitely be on the heavy side when the four bike unit is complete.
However it is tremendously sturdy and well-built

This bike rack is the best I have seen for a hitch mount. Kuat has designed a superior product. I shopped and compared this to the Yakima and Thule racks of similar designs. This Kuat NV 2.0 beats them all. It fits for adjustable wheel bases with the sliding back wheel strap and adjustable front wheel slot. It also locks in wheels from 20" up to 29". The 20" requires an additional adapter sold separately.
The finish and the build quality are top grade and I expect this bike rack to last many years. I am switching from a Thule 4-bike hitch rack after about 10 years with the Thule.

I have had a few bike racks in the past but this is absolutely the best and last rack you will need. It has held up well and my bike are very secure in transport. I have two racks and a plus two without a single issue. etrailer and Kuat are both awesome and informative. etrailer is always a pleasure doing business and have and will use for all my needs.
Very solid and bikes go on/off with ease. The built in mechanism that allows you to tighten the hitch to prevent sway works great, as well as the built in lock system. It’s on the heavy side, I need help pulling on and off but I can carry it (5’6” female that’s decently athletic), but I think it should have some girth on it to be as solid as it is. Worth the money if you bike often!
Excellent rack, a year later still in great condition. No movement at hitch when driving like other racks. Love the extra bar to work on bike in parking lot.
Cracked a part on the rack when backing up accidentally hit it, I called the company and they immediately sent out new part no questions asked and rack is like new. Easy to access the drop and raise bar even with bikes on .A note that with larger mountain bikes only three really fit on the four rack without adjusting handle bars.

Worth every penny--couldn't be happier with my decision to spend a bit more for this quality platform hitch bike rack. Assembly was a little awkward at times and a 2nd pair of hands was nice, but really not that bad. The Gunmetal Gray color choice was also a nice option that looks sharp with my charcoal MDX. I really like having the ability to easily convert to a 2 bike rack from the 4 bike rack and back. Great quality product and Karen was most helpful in assisting me with my order choice at etrailer!
Shipping was v. quick. Rack takes a little while to assemble since it is heavy and is shipped in several pieces, but the rack feels well made and is extremely easy to use once it is assembled and in place on the hitch.

After one year, I am very impressed. The rack is definitely extremely easy to use - takes no time to load/unload bikes and they are held securely in transit. I highly recommend!
Very pleased with the quality and construction of the Kuat bike rack. Had a little issue when installing the add on rack. One of the receiver nuts was miss aligned with the bolt but was able to get it to work. Rack is very sturdy and easy to add and remove bikes. A little on the pricey side but you get what you pay for and piece of mind knowing your bikes are safe and secure is worth the extra expense.
I would definitely recommend this bike rack.

GREAT, LOVE IT
I am totally in love with this rack. It works exceptionally well--easy to load and unload my bikes and they feel stable. I replaced a 5 bike, Thule hanging style with this rack.
My absolute favorite thing about the rack is that the rear door of my 2017 MDX can open and close with the 2-bike rack in place (not loaded, folded up toward the car). This is a total game changer. I have 3 small kids and I love that I no longer have to battle a bike rack every time I need access to the back of my car.

After a year, we still love our Kuat bike rack! We are a family of 5, so our only worry is how we will someday carry 5 bikes when the smallest one wont fit in the back of the car. Kuat, please make a 5 bike version!

So after one year this Kuat NV 2.0 has worked out perfectly. I use it once or twice a week and have done a couple big trips to the mountains with it. At time I just leave it on my van. Still looks and performs great. Once everything is adjusted getting 4 bikes on is easy. This is a solid rack that youll hand down to your kids. Its built that good. The only issue I had was a little black rubber piece that cover the locking pin through the hitch broke, but its not even an issue. If I could change something it would be the weight. Its pretty heavy when you have the 2 bike attachment on. Make sure if you get the attachment for 4 bikes ask to have the same key for both. I didnt know and assume it would but I have two different keys.
Excellent rack. Very easy installation. Easy to use. I absolutely love this rack. We have 4 bikes and super easy to use. Lock mechanism is very easy and slick design. I also like the look on the back of car.

This bike rack has worked well for our family of 4. It allows us to safely and securely carry all 4 bikes through the mountains of Colorado with our Hallmark Milner truck camper. Strong and durable rack that barely moves when driving. etrailer's customer service was outstanding. The rack was initially delayed and after one phone call to check status a warehouse manager quickly solved a minor issue and got the rack shipped. etrailer was fantastic in managing this transaction with extremely limited staffing. etrailer is the first place I check for anything recreation as I've never had anything but stellar service.

Great we drove 6000 miles with this rack behind our jeep wrangler behind our RV coach. Held the bicycles beautifully in place. We added the swing away part and that made access to our jeep very easy. For sure a great bike rack. What I also loved is how quickly one can get the bikes on and off. I think the best rack on the market!!
